So the actual frame rate problem on the PS4 turns out to be that it's going too high? The PS4 is too powerful for CoD?
Exclusives for the Xbox are going to be harder to come by in the future if the popularity of the PS4 holds up. Since Microsoft is relying on partnering with third party developers for exclusives, each PS4 sold is another potential costumer those developers would lose. That means the financial compensation from Microsoft has to be that much higher.
Sony owns a number of first party studios that will provide a consistent number of PS4 exclusives.
Now the race is on. It's a logistics war and whoever can make the most and ship them to customers is going to come out on top.
"They also anticipate a large waiting list for Microsoft Corp. (MSFT)’s Xbox One, suggesting a prolonged industry sales slump is ending."
Drones, buddy. We build drones. We've outsourced the bomb making to Mexico. What do you think NAFTA was all about?
A little of both I guess.
I do like Knack despite the low scores it was given. I'm sure a bunch of people will really enjoy Ryse as well. It is very pretty.
My perception of Knack really changed once I watched a lot of the live-streaming of the game. I was thinking XB1 users could do the same with this game and then remembered that feature got delayed.
The problem is that every once in awhile Polygon will have a good article about something. Their news stories aren't that bad, but their reviews are horrible. So just don't take it too seriously.
Yep. This review pretty much nails my experience with the game. Pretty great overall.
I too would like a "Made in Japan" console. Can I trade mine?
"Where does the Wii U fit in?" My store had to move it to the back to make room for the PS4 and XB1. No love for Nintendo.
I think what Nintendo needs to do is release something just like the VitaTV, except it plays Virtual Console games. I'd buy one of those.
It seems you and I are on the exact same page with this (except Knack was supposed to be the game I played with my daughter... and after I beat it, I'll let her have a turn).
This game takes me back to 2006. When the PS3 and the Wii came out, I was getting burned out on video games. The "realism" that games were going for just weren't doing it for me anymore. I wanted something colorful, cartoony, and fun. I wanted to play the games that made me fall in ...
Don't jump to conclusions. Everyone said Knack was a bad game but after watching a bunch of gameplay, and then playing it myself, it turned out to be great. Reviewers opinions aren't usually to be trusted.
So just wait until people get their XB1's and broadcast the gamr with the Twitch app and judge for yourself. Oh, wait...
Ps. And a 6/10 from Polygon means its just as good as The Last of Us.
It's just a fun game. I can't find anything wrong with it really. It's the one game I keep going back to. 8/10 (if not higher)
Finally, some good news for the XB1?
I have YouTube on my phone, tablet, computer, Vita, PS3, and TV. I never felt like it was one of those "must have" features at launch. Kind of like Netflix. But if it's there, that's cool.
The guy over at Wired made a comment about the "voice" you need to use to make Kinect work. Loud, forceful, and your speech pattern needs to be very specific. He likened it to disciplining your dog type of voice.
I'm sure some people will like it. And some people will hate it. And some people will think it's cool for the first week and then rarely use it again. That's how a lot of people I know were when Siri was introduced on the iPhone. It was a cute gi...
And yet from every person I know who has played it (including me) thinks this game is tremendously fun. Of all the launch games for PS4 it has by far been my favorite.
But what do I know? I'm not a professional reviewer or anything. I guess I'm wrong for not thinking Knack sucks. I'm supposed to think Resogun is the second coming, but I don't. My opinions seem to be all flip-flopped with how they're "supposed" to be.
In their defense though, they are "gaming" consoles, so as long as the games work, I'm fine with them launching now and adding additional functions later. It's important to let the customer know what will be coming soon so they know what to expect.
That said, the XB1 seems to have spent so much time hyping up the voice command features and it seems like it's just not there yet. They probably should have toned down their talk a little to keep expectations at a r...
The VitaTV needs the ability to play any Vita game, whether it's "approved" or not. I've played a number of Vita games that have very little, if any, touch inputs that aren't approved games. I'd like to see it that if you tried to start one of these games it gives you a warning screen that basically says "Enter at your own risk" and lets me choose whether or not to play it.
Hopefully it's something they will add.
Not exactly a glowing review. In fact, it's very scathing at times. I was actually to see he scored it a 7/10, though giving a score to a console is stupid.
Looks like the console has an ambitious dream and one day it might get there, but that day is not today.
Who cares?
Microsoft attacks their competitors all the time. It's the nature of the business.
I mean, Microsoft has a campaign called "Scroogled" which is about how Google is out to screw you. They can certainly dish the trash talk, so I'm sure they can handle a facebook post pointing out their games aren't all 1080p.
