ONE MILLION in 24 hours is nothing to sneeze at.
What I keep thinking about is that the Xbox One releases next week and only a handful of people are going to be getting both. When was the last time, if ever, two consoles so closely competitive released at the same time? The 360 and PS3 were a year apart. The Dreamcast and PS2 were a year apart. PS1 and N64 were a year apart. Genesis and SNES were a year apart.
This is the first time that I can find where they are launching...
In a sense, Adam Sessler was right. His career is doomed because of this feature. Something that was once only the realm of the techno-gamer is now something easily accessible to all. Everyone is a streamer now, and I think it's going to change things big time.
And when I first heard about it in February, I thought it was stupid. Now that I see it in action, I'm in awe over it.
I love that the PS4 has built in streaming. No need for reviews to help make a decision. Just fire up the app on the PS4 and watch somebody else play it for awhile and I can make up my own mind. It's brilliant.
Geez. Am I the only one getting burned out from review scores? Maybe that's a side effect of having two next-gen systems being released so close to one another.
Plus, after playing Knack all weekend, I just don't know how to put any faith into these scores anymore. Knack is supposed to be mediocre to bad, but it's incredible. It's really, really fun. So how did it get such low scores?
The nice thing going forward is the ability to watch...
So when people actually need to talk to customer support, this guy ties up the line and take a reps time just to see what the experience is like?
Not cool.
No. This is not possible. Has Sony learned nothing?
You see, the PS4 is entering a different world than the PS3. Mobile gaming is taking the world by storm and changing the way gamers game. No longer are they forced to sit in front of a TV and slave through The Last of Us when Draw Something and Candy Crush is waiting to save them on their phones.
Console gaming is dead Sony. Haven't you learned that yet? These PS4's are supposed to bomb (like the Wii U). Remem...
That's it! This is all a big con by Sony to make everybody buy the warranty. I knew it!
It's a conspiracy.
Because if the people who have theirs working fine don't speak out, all we hear about are the ones that don't work. This leads to the perception that they all are broken, which isn't the case.
I read story after story about PS4s from Amazon with shoddy packaging that didn't work and I got super worried about mine. Turns out, despite having the same packaging from Amazon, mine works great. So hopefully that gives someone solace.
I was getting tired of seein...
FOR THE LAST FREAKIN' TIME! Shuhei didn't way he was hoping it was going to be a bad game, but rather he didn't expect the review scores to be incredible because of the type of game it was.
Microsoft and Sony both made the same decision: start production when the hardware was ready because the software can always be updated. The result is that while a day one patch will be required, at least you'll have a console on day one. The alternative would mean hardware shortages across the board and nobody would have gotten one at launch.
Personally I'm more than fine with having to download a patch at launch than having the consoles in short supply that I'd never get...
First of all, there's a difference between what "Sony" was hoping for and what Shuhei Yoshida was expecting the game to get. Mr. Yoshida said that based on the kind of game it was that it wasn't going to score tremendously high. Nothing wrong with that.
The thing is, the more people see this game, the more positive comments I see about it. Sony's decision to add in game streaming to every PS4 means that these games are no longer hidden from the masses...
I thought it was cool. Nothing mind blowing, but it was just something to keep the ball rolling as we got to the actual moment of launch.
The Uncharted thing was great for me. Not much solid info, but just announcing that it's coming has me excited. It's going to be fun.
This game really surprised me and I would not hesitate to say it's more like a 5/5. It's not a game for everyone, but it's perfect for what it is. And I love it.
I was looking through my list of PS+ free games the other day and I'm kind of sad they don't offer some of the older, smaller games like they used to. I've got a number of PS1 games they used to give out as well as smaller titles like Golden Axe, Sonic, Altered Beast. I've got some minis as well that used to be free.
I love the instant game collection, but those smaller gems were a real nice touch. wish they'd bring them back.
That was actually really fun to watch. If Sony could get Ice T to do a commercial for this, their sales of the camera would go through the roof. I want one now.
But what if I want Knack? Does XB1 have anything even remotely like it?
Are we seriously going to get a news story every time someone's console doesn't work? It happens. My original Wii didn't work out of the box, but the replacement has been going strong ever since. Not really a news story, nor is the iMac that wouldn't turn on but the replacement worked flawlessly.
Out of the millions shipped, there are going to be a few with problems. It's true with any product you buy.
And how did this guy get one from Walmart?
Agreed. I wish my daughter could play one level of LittleBigPlanet without having to say, "DAD! I need your helping getting past this part." Challenging platforming for kids is more frustration than a benefit.
I think the reviews to watch are going to be on Amazon after people play it. Its how I get all my kid game reviews because you'll see things like, "For me it's an ok game, but my 6yo loves it and won't stop playing" As a dad, those are the kind...
Maybe the games I like just aren't critically acclaimed kind of games. I hate multiplayer games, and GTA V wasn't for me either. Maybe I'm just old school (or just old), but watching how Knack plays, it reminds me of all the reasons why I enjoy playing video games in the first place.
Also, Cerny has said a number of times that one of the goals with this game is that it's a family friendly game and can be a kid's first introduction into console gaming. As the f...
I never understood how this guy was where he was. He talks like a spastic ten year old, and when your job is to talk for a living, that's not a good thing. But whatever, I could deal with it.
Then there was the "bro's before ho's" incident where the noble Adam Sessler came to the defense of women everywhere. He was all in a tizzy because of a misogynistic trophy name, despite the fact that the WOMAN who wrote the trophy name was by no means offended b...
