After watching the 20 minute demo... sheesh. Does the voice command ever work the first time? And the UI for the system is so complex. There's so much going on. A lot of trial and error, a lot of hunting to find options and features. With time and practice, people will get it (which is what they say about Windows 8 as well).
It makes the PS4 UI look downright basic by comparison. And I'm ok with that.

Media Molecule does it again! Can't wait to see their PS4 effort.

Ha ha ha! Geez, I can't stop laughing.
You know nothing John Snow.

My reaction is the same as the PS4 scores, you can't give a numerical score to a console that will constantly evolve over time.

Imagine if the original Super Mario Bros. was reviewed by today's standards:
- it's too short, can be completed in as little as 20 minutes
- dialogue is weak
- story is not compelling or original (rescue damsel in distress)
- attacks are repetitive (jump on the head to kill the enemy)
- "Brothers" is in the title but the Luigi is only available for the second player. Even then, no difference between the two
- No multiplayer or...

And wasn't the original xbox 360 failure rate as high as 50%?
I'm still thinking 1% sounds kind of low but only Sony will know for sure.
From what I've seen, the Amazon units seem to have the highest failure rate. Maybe shipping was a problem.

So does this hurt the Xbox One launch or does the Xbox One launch hurt sales of these games?

They know nobody is going to buy a Wii U based on their review anyway, so why not. Mario games and Zelda games will usually always score well. Not sure why... but that's the way it is.

Funny you should say that. Contrast is the only game I've tried with remote play, and it worked really well.
I really liked the trophy when you find the Extra Life collectible and the names of all the donors scrolls on the screen. Classy.

I just noticed this earlier today. I searched "PS4" on ebay and was presented with 55,000 listings. Most of those were consoles. And the bids were pushing the prices up to around $550. Crazy.

This reminds me of something I saw the other day about the difference in strategy between Sony and Microsoft. Sony is really going grass roots with their launch event and inviting people such as Boogie2988 "Francis" and playing up the Antonio Banderas gif from Neogaf. These are things that only gamers would understand, but they really speak to the heart of gaming base.
Meanwhile Microsoft is having commercials with Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis, and now this concert. It...

I'm really liking this game. It's a lot more fun to play that I was anticipating and can't wait to finish it.

I missed it. Which one was the boring game? Everyone I've played so far is really good. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed playing Contrast.

Here's what really happened. Microsoft thought they had a good thing going with their Twitch integration and everything was going to be fine. Then the PS4 launched and they saw first hand how good it actually worked on that console. They had a quick "come to Jesus" meeting and realized their feature was nowhere near as complete. So they delayed it.
You can't tell me that a few days before launch they suddenly realized that it was going to be ready for a number of...

I'm half-way through Knack, and it does not deserve low scores. It's a GOOD game. There is nothing broken in it and the controls work very well. It definitely has a great, old school feel to me which I really love.
I'd give it an 8/10. Watch the streams and judge for yourself, but I'm really impressed with it.

I don't think it will matter one way or the other. The people planning on buying the XB1 day one have made up their minds already and the review score for Ryse isn't going to sway them.

I've noticed that a lot of tech sites don't quite understand gaming. They think console gaming is dead and that people only want to play games on their phones and tablets (because that's what they do). So the differences between the platforms, obscure to them but obvious to someone who cares, gets completely lost.
Yes the services matter, but I'd say the chips matter more. Services can be added in a firmware patch but chips are forever.

I also really like this game. From a pure "fun to play" perspective, it's better than anything I've played in the last year. It may not be technically better, but I think it's more fun than The Last of Us (and I love that game).
Plus it has local co-op play.
