There will be no new Zelda at VGX. They will maybe (MAYBE) announce a new character for Smash Bros.
Microtransactions aren't a black or white affair. Some are ok and some are bad.
When I buy a costume pack for LittleBigPlanet, that's a microtransaction but it's not a bad thing. It's an additional piece of content that I decided I wanted that was in addition to the actual game. Playing without the costume doesn't impact the game.
However if I buy a game for full price that then requires me to buy additional content in order to experience the game, then ...
What's so bad about it? If someone wants to just pay $5 and unlock a car in a racing game instead of having to play for 100 hours, what's wrong with that? Having the option of the transactions isn't bad.
What is bad is when you change the game to make the micro-transactions the predominant way to play. If Forza 5 had the same level of content as 4, and if you earned credits at the same rate, then I don't think it should be a problem. But that's not what happene...
South Park makes a good point when it argued that the reason it's so important to buy now is because it determines which will be the dominant platform going forward. So if you have a preference and you sit it out, then you're essentially saying you'd rather have your friends and others decide for you which console you'll get.
That episode laid out the arguments for why there's a console war better than any I've ever seen.
This pisses me off. Battlefield 4 is a broke game with so many bugs that some people find it unplayable. It's so bad that DICE has been pulled off everything else until they get it fixed, and even EA admits that it's a broke game.
And yet... review after review praised the game. Joystiq gives it a 4.5/5. WTF?? Meanwhile Knack (yes, I'm a knack defender) gets a 1.5/5? Seriously? IGN gives BG4 8.5/10 and Knack a 5.9/10.

Driveclub was also listed as a launch game for the PS4 in the US as well this far from the launch date. Hopefully this time they make their date.
Was this guy not paying attention at E3? Starting in North America first in 2014. They said it months and months ago.
And once the Dualshock 4 controller is patched in to the VitaTV, remote play on that is going to be awesome. That's when Sony will sell it outside of Japan and it will dominate the gaming world.

I played it in the arcade. I played it on the Genesis. I bought it for the Game Cube and played it on that and the Wii. I bought it for the PSP and right now it's the only reason I still have my PSP. I've been playing this game for over 25 years and I still love it. It's a game I'm always in the mood for.
Joust 2 was good but not as much.
Once this game is released on Vita, I will enjoy playing it. It looks fantastic.

No game is perfect. Yet this is a game I'm always in the mood for. Other games, even highly rated games like Flower, are great.. if you're in the mood for that kind of game.
Knack is a light, fun game that I am always in the mood to play. For that reason alone, I'd rate it as high as I can.
Well, this game is exactly what I've been wanting for a long time. It hits every thing I wish it would.
Sure the dialogue isn't great at times, but it's never bad. And even if you hate the story, how does that detract from whether or not the game is fun? Super Mario Bros. has a horrible "story" but it's still a fun game.
The game is fun. It's beautiful and it plays really well. A score this low indicates there is something fundamentally wrong with the game. That isn't the case with Knack. If it's not your thing, then that's fine. But the game isn't bad. For me (and lots of others) it's incredible.

This game is awesome and I feel a 7.9 is almost too low a score. There is so much you can do in the game, from the campaign to just building castles and knocking them down. $10 gets you a Vita version and a PS3 copy, but I don't know if it has cross-save. I've not been able to transfer my saves from one to the other.
The Vita version and the PS3 version are the same. Plus it's crossbuy.
This is really a thing? The xbox needs to be unplugged every few day in order to not crash. I hope this is something that can be fixed with an update.
This game is awesome. It gets really difficult later in the campaign, but even just building castles to knock them down is extremely satisfying. Highly recommend it.
