On the surface it sounds good. I just wonder if there are qualifiers such as: "make whatever game you like...as long as it has online, dlc, microtransactions, etc"?
I hope thats not the case, I just have little faith in Microsoft's words. Time will tell.
Unfortunately it will be a really great game but absolutely pack to the brim with dlc, microtransactions, and locked content.
Injustice 2 took nickle and diming to the next level and I expect this game to be the same or worse.
GOW is definitely up there along with Spiderman, RDR2, and surprisingly AC Odyssey(only let down by the despicable microtransactions and grind to encourage them).
Yes Tsushima is very high on my most anticipated list along with Sekiro, TLOU2, and Cyberpunk.
Incidentally I got married in Kamakura. Such an awesome place to visit and overlooked by many people who visit Japan.
I'm sure the game will be amazing.
That said, what other games has this guy worked on? Kind of relevant. Basis for comparison y'know ;)
It's Twinfinite so that is to be expected.
I agree. Let Sebastian chill with his family. Playing as Kidman in the dlc from the first game was one of the highlights of the series (though based on trophies it seems most didn't play it).
It's a shame because it's a great series but they lost my money when they got greedy and locked content behind a paywall.
Injustice 2 was the last straw. I'm done with fighting games until they hit the bargain bin if this is how they are going to sell them.
Day 1 dlc character that has been part of the main roster for the last several games? Not okay.
Agreed. No game this gen has consumed my time like Bloodborne did.
Try The Evil Within 1 and 2 and Until Dawn. Not sure how they omitted those.
Just greed.
Sunset Overdrive is really great. Any fan of Insomniacs others games would enjoy it. It's basically a more adult oriented ratchet and clank.
Sorry but how do you justify them holding back a character from the main roster in previous games (Tira) and then selling it to you as part of a season pass on day 1 when you have already paid for the game? There is no defending it but as predicted here we are.
I don't hate the game I am a fan of the franchise which is why it is disappointing that they are ruining it by adopting greedy practices. Tira should be part of the main roster.
I am old enough to remember when paying for a game meant getting the whole game. If anyone is ignorant it is you.
That's because it is incomplete. It is a bare bones roster and they are holding back characters and customisation content to milk more money from the fanbase who will inevitably jump to their defense for doing so. Bargain bin purchase for me.
It is all equally bad. The grind required to level up just to play the main storyline, the lack of money and materials to keep existing equipment at the same level you are at, it is clearly orchestrated to push microtransactions. Plus content locked behind a paywall (e.g. Pegusus, ship figure heads).
It's greed pure and simple and with many people accepting it and some even defending it, the problem will only get worse as these companies see how far they can push things...
Remove the grind. The microtransactions/paid xp boost have clearly impacted the game, there is no maybe.
It is fine at first but around 30 hrs in there is a sudden jump that requires you to level up 5 or so levels to continue the main storyline which takes around 10 hrs of grinding side quest and the arena at this point.
At 50+ hrs in the game is great but there is no debating the negative impact this greedy practice has on the game.
It...
The Saboteur was great, nice art style and such a good soundtrack. Hunted was cool but very flawed.
Alice the Madness Returns is still really cool for those who like the premise. The original Dead Space holds up well. Catherine has aged incredibly well. The Suda 51 games are all still great if you can dig quirkiness (Shadows of the damned, Lollipop Chainsaw, Killer is dead). There are lots more, many have had remasters already though.
I think a good start would be doing away with episodic content. Nobody likes waiting especially paying to wait.
They missed a lot of stuff. It's a pointless list because videogames from different eras can not really be compared over time due to being highly reliant on technology which evolves so quickly.
Doom for example was amazing at the time, Super Mario Brothers was a phenomenon, both now look very dated because times have changed.
