Funny. All this stuff would have been unlockable when the original RE2 released. Now it's a paid extra. Thanks technology.

Standard twinfinite slideshow. Save yourself a click.

Indeed. Bloodborne is another great example of environmental storytelling.

That said, at the other end of the spectrum The Last of Us shows how great storytelling can really elevate a game.

Both styles are valid when done well.

There is clearly a heavy Judge Dredd influence too from what has been shown so far.

Suits me as I loved those comics growing up.

"You chose the wrong party to crash"!

Amazing games really hope for a reboot or new entry but Sekiro will do for now.

This remake looks really great. Nice start to 2019.

Slightly off topic but anyone else notice it is suddenly okay to click on twinfinite articles since Giuseppe Nelva joined them?

Feels kinda weird after avoiding their clickbait for so long. Bit of a loss for Dualshockers though.

Anyhow, keep up the good work Giuseppe ;)

Agree 100%. As a fan of the 1979 film Alien Isolation was amazing and is one of my favourite games this gen (top 20). Mobile game? No thanks, huge dissapointment!

I just hope this and the diablo mobile games flop. If so perhaps they will stop doing this.

He does. I like that he speaks his mind.

I think some people are misinterpreting what he said. He is not saying there is no difference between real life and virtual killing.

He is basically just pointing out that humans have an inate fascination with violence as a form of entertainment (that is, we have a dark streak).

For example horror movies, action films, most video games, or say the UFC.

Andromeda was a let down compared to the previous ME games. Anthem looks like a Destiny style online grindfest. So yep it's a pass.

Looking forward to this it could be great. I love Dragon Age and really liked Inquisition. I understand people's trepidation though.

Games are often frought with issues these days whether that be developers trying to please the SJW crowd or packing games with microtransactions, loot crates, unwanted online services, etc.

You summed up my thoughts exactly. Thanks for saving me the trouble ;)

Exactly.

As for Jaffe 'if you dont like it don't play it'?

Uh huh, and he is calling us childish and ignorant.

Yep I loved the original. It is the only ps2 game I still own. This sounds bad though. Boo Ubisoft.

Assassins Creed Odyssey. Though the microtransaction are inexcusable the rest of the game was enjoyable.

I would have picked God of war however I don't like that it has gone for political correctness compared to the previous games.

Overall not a great year as games seem to have 'matured' too much for my taste and the SJW influence seems to be strong within the industry. Developers seem too scared to offend people and games are worse for it.

Announcement of Sekiro. From Software souls type game but channeling some Tenchu vibes. Seems like my cup of tea.

Locked content and microtransactions in single player games. The gradual shift of games in general to incorporate more and more microtransactions, dlc, paywalls, in game currencies, loot crates, various special, ultimate, gold editions of games, etc.

It's worrying that companies can do this and most people seem oblivious. It does not bode well for the future.

From Software. Bloodborne is game of the generation for me.

2736d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

I see plenty of people naming publishers so I will also go with that and say Microsoft. It has been an abysmal generation for them. All talk and spin and largely irrelevant outside the US.

Scalebound and Fable both cancelled, constant downplaying of single player games and pushing gaas as the future.

Hopefully they improve things next gen thought to be honest I am not optimistic.

It is cool. Wish you could see more than just top 3 though. They obviously have the data, you should be able to see ranking for all games or even top 10.

I had 4000+ hrs. 400+ in Gwent, 300+ in Blood Bowl 2, 3rd game was my kids playing Disney Infinity almost 300 hrs.

I know I have around 300 hrs in Bloodborne and have completed the Witcher 3 twice plus all dlc so it would be up there too.
