Nioh 2 and Wo Long are both really great games and I think Ronin sounds great too. The trouble is releasing the same day as Dragons Dogma 2. Not sure who decided to do that but I think it is a bad move as far as initial/launch sales numbers at least.
Yeah I have spent 8hrs in the character creator. It's a lot of fun.
Anyone who hasn't played this is in for a real treat. The game is visually so on point and the game play is so fun.
Was a super strong contender for GOTY 2020.
I know it's not what they're going for but if this game had character creation and customisation options I would be far more interested.
As it stands, I will wait for Dragon's Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin.
You pretty much summed it up.
From the trailers the butch looking characters were very unappealing and it just looked generic overall.
I have not played it but single player games are my thing. This just looked generic on every level with horrible art design and very unappealing characters. Even the music in the launch trailer was bad.
Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
Indeed. Sounds pretty accurate.
Same.
Would be if it wasn't so sad.
I would have also but will be busy with Dragon's Dogma. Such bad timing. Nothing to play for the next month then Ronin and Dogma on the same day?! Poor planning.
Will get it eventually though. Love the Wo Long and Nioh games. Stellar Blade is also at the top of my to get list.
Have had this on my PS wishlist for years now along with Stellar Blade. Finally!
@isarai I don't really like online games. They have an expiry date. I like to go back and play my favourite games multiple times, sometimes many years later (e.g. I still play the Suda 51/Grasshopper Manufacture games from PS3 every few years). Hard to do if the game is online only and is no longer supported.
I like playing some co-op/multiplayer at times but ideally not online.
...except for the 'cooperative online game' part.
Super dodgy.
They could at least add an option to use the in game fight money that you earn as an alternative to real money. For example 1 million Fight money = $1 for DLC items/costumes. I feel like that would be a more fair way to do things if they really feel the need to add micro-transactions.
I think it will be a great game but releasing on the same day as Dragons Dogma 2 seems like a big mistake.
17+ rating? That is hilarious. Most young teenagers 13+ have unbridled access to the internet and all it contains these days. Some people are just delusional.
Hoping we get a demo for this game. I think it would boost sales if the combat/game play holds up (which I really hope it does).
True but the GaaS was this games real downfall. Once you implement that all of the systems are built around season passes and micro-transactions.
It is really good but limited in some areas (e.g. You can choose torso or leg length but not both, limited colours for various things, limited eye/iris options). I have spent 8-9 hrs in the character creator and am mostly happy with what it does.
The character creator in Nioh 2, Wo Long, Wild Hearts, and I'm assuming Rise of Ronin (as they all use essentially the same creator to my knowledge) is as good or perhaps superior in terms of number of choices customisation opt...
