Yep 4 is objectively overly harsh. For perspective, out of 77 reviews on Metacritic there are only 3 scores of 4 or less.
I would personally give it an 8. I really enjoyed it and will wait for NG+ in Feb to play through again. I also really liked Days Gone, even at release.
Then again I actually play games and decide for myself rather than jumping on a bandwagon like most.
What Remains of Edith Finch is brilliant. I would also add Inside to this list.
Nice Clash reference ;)
Dead Space is a great game, one of my favourites from the PS3/360 gen. I have finished it multiple times and am looking forward to the remake. That said I feel like saying it is going to 'redefine survival horror' is setting expectations a little high. I mean it is a remake not an original new idea.
It's also discounted on PS and GOG (probably other platforms too).
I am enjoying it so far, great setting/art design.
True but it was a different time. Most games were complete back then. We had not yet entered the era of endless patches.
Lots of good options. Batman and Joker are both great in the Arkham Games, Geralt if fantastic in the Witcher 3, so is Ciri, Fem-Shep in Mass Effect Trilogy, Nathan Drake.
@RauLeCreuset By woke look I suppose I mean very sanitised, very safe, trying hard not to offend anyone and not taking any risks. It has no edge and seems to be trying to appeal to a very progressive and easily offended audience. This results in a very generic feel and the product seems soulless. The costumes and art design don't appeal. Nothing to do with race or sex. I like female leads in games. I think the actress they chose is fine.
@Si-Fly I'm not racist it has nothing to do with that. Perhaps you are the racist one if that is where your mind went?
Same. I don't like the design. It has a very woke look to it if that makes sense.
Yep. Ratchet and Clank is probably still the most impressive thing I have played on a technical level this gen.
It won't feel different it is the same game. Invest in the decision making, the story, and setting and you will enjoy it. If your focus is just on the combat you are missing what makes this game special and why it is so highly praised.
Tip. Forget the combat and focus on the story, setting, missions, characters, world building, music, and atmosphere. Play it as an RPG not an action game.
The story, setting, missions, characters, world building, music, and atmosphere are the main attractions and what generates the hype.
The combat is good but not amazing. It is not the main draw of the game.
Get far enough to get invested in the characters, make some decisions that impact the story, and get a feel for the world, then you will get it.
Yep, it's great.
The first one is great. One of the best games of the PS3/360 generation.
As a huge fan of the original game the first thing I notice is the lady at the start no longer has her curves and is also now announcing her sexual orientation (as if anyone cares). Yep it's definitely a 2023 remake.
Presentation is fantastic, which is important for immersion in this type of game. I think the encounters are tense and Visceral (see what I did there?). Really great atmosphere and looking forward to seeing more.
I did not struggle with the dodge at all, not sure where the issue lies exactly (I have died 3 times in 6 hours of gameplay). Just hold one way then the other changing after each strike from an enemy, pretty simple. There is no timing involved, so after an enemy swings at you just swap to holding the other direction (or attack if appropriate).
Same mechanic for multiple enemies or enemies behind you. As soon as you complete one dodge just hold the other direction if you are...
If it's so great why are you so insecure?
