Talk to me when Microsoft produces a game as epic as God of War, or as successful as Spider-Man, or as accomplished as The Last of Us, or as fresh as Dreams, or as unique as Death Stranding or as fan pleasing as Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls remakes. I can go on.
The irony being you've literally endured Halo, Gears, Forza and Fable for how many years now?
My god it's like the English media in football. So much overhype. Can we let actual results speak because this is how you end up with Halo Infinite, Crackdown 3, the non-existent Perfect Dark and countless others. I don't care how good Starfield is, I'm excited for it and will play it on PC but make no mistake it's not an Xbox game. They had nothing to do with its creation. We can talk about Xbox being back in the game when they actually develop and/or fund a project that is a...
What is the point of this? It must have been a troll considering Microsoft owns Bethesda. But we all know Microsoft's end game isn't to create games or fund studios, but to take IPs. Ironically what Phil said they weren't about.
@Abracadabra What kind of point do you imagine you made? There's nothing to spin. The PS4 Pro was a mid-gen upgrade that worked because it just allowed people to play the same games with increased visuals and/or performance settings, the same would be the case for any PS5 Pro. The games would still be developed for the PS5, and toggled up for PS5 Pro.
The Series S was released alongside the new generation console, hamstringing the next generation. This statement means ...
I sincerely doubt that this game can't have a performance mode with some cut backs. It's just a lack of optimisation. Quack like a duck all you want, but all that jet packing, flying through space and running and gunning is not going to be grand in 30fps. Good thing I'll be playing this on PC ;)
This looks awesome, great presentation Bethesda! This is the gameplay that was promised. My only concern for this game is whether the story and world holds up, because when I hear "thousands of worlds" I start picturing hundreds of dull, procedurally generated empty planets with meagre loot. But the scope of this game is certainly incredible, and it's the game that saved an otherwise forgettable show for me.
I was super excited for this but wow, what a letdown of a trailer. What was the point of Microsoft's tweet about their "gameplay" trailers and yet there was almost nothing of note?
I 100% agree with this and would be my reason for getting one as well: for when my kids hog my TV, and for when I just feel like playing in a more relaxed way, like in bed. I had a Switch for a time and you're right, apart from the first week I got it I NEVER played docked. It just made sense and was more comfortable to play on the go. I'm sure if Project Q has a great screen, I'd end up doing a lot of my playing on it unless it's a game like God of War where spectacle is ever...
I agree, but I've also grown more confident in remakes after Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 4 and Mafia: Definitive Edition, which wasn't half bad. I think Capcom certainly raised the bar and everyone worth their salt will aim for that standard.
Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of my favourite games of all time from my favourite series of all time, so I sincerely hope they don't screw it up.
Breaking news: good games make people want to buy your console.
Imagine Microsoft figured this out before Xbox One launched.
Touche, sir. I absolutely hate mobile gaming personally. I'll use my phone for work, YouTube and browsing. Even as just a remote play device, the screen is too small and you'll be annoyed by calls and messages. A dedicated device may offer a small crowd like me some reprieve.
While I don't know Sony's reason for not wanting to venture into the handheld space again, I imagine it's because they don't want to stretch themselves too thin when they'r...
I want a Steamdeck, but it's not available in my country yet unless I pay a fortune that amounts to more than my PS5 and half my gaming PC. If this reaches my shores at a relatively affordable price I'll grab one just to use my damn PlayStation while my two kids hog my precious LG C1 to watch unspeakable YouTube videos. However it all depends on the price and essential functionality; it better have proper DualSense features, a good battery life and a bright, high resolution screen sin...
Thanks mate, my mistake, was under the false impression it was a timed exclusive. Rest of the point stands.
@gleepot What happens to all the people that don't play or like Starfield? Doesn't Xbox's entire generation hinge on that game according to articles on N4G like a week ago? You see how bad arguments don't hold weight?
I don't get the catastrophic reactions to this showcase, like Microsoft can suddenly win now after a 10 year draught. Was it a letdown compared to how Sony normally knocks it out of the park? Yeah, sure. Did we miss Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog, Santa Monica and others? Sure, but that also means plenty more to come for another day. It was a one hour show after all, with 12 minutes devoted to Spider-Man. Was it light on PS5 exclusive announcements? Yeah. As a showcase, it was decent and I tot...
Even though I'm about to hit 30 years old this year, the announcement of a PlayStation show always makes me excited like a kid all over again. You just know that there's going to be something that blows your hair back. The last show it was Spider-Man 2 with its Venom reveal and Wolverine for me. I can't wait to see some gameplay from Spider-Man 2 next week, and one or two promising PS5 exclusive IPs - that will be enough to make it a win!
Next-gen needs to hit ...
I agree with your assessment. I have a Galax 3060TI with GDDR6X ram and it's an absolute beast in value for the money I paid. Maxing out graphics with high performance above 80fps on most games I play minus ray tracing. I can't see these cards being a better buy than a 3060Ti with GDDR6X.
I hate to strawman, but the suggestion that graphics don't matter is asinine, because if that were the case we should have just left games in the PS2 era. I mean what's the point of pushing technological barriers if "graphics don't matter"
This comment is further really dumb because in a story driven game like A Plague Tale: Requiem or The Last of Us or a game where scale matters like God of War graphics ABSOLUTELY matter!!

Bethesda and Activision did not need Microsoft to develop games, they published and created their own.
The proof is in facts. It may be a fact that Microsoft bought those publishers, but it's also a fact that Microsoft has contributed zero to any game creation or studio development. As far as the evidence suggests, Microsoft simply wanted to piggyback off Bethesda and Activision on their Game Pass platform.
As we know with Microsoft "wait for E3...
Name one risk Microsoft has taken in 10 years. I'll wait.
