The only way this clickbait article would be correct would be if the Portal was a handheld gaming "console". It isn't. It's an accessory and is being marketed exactly as such. Read the product page, or note how it's obviously advertised alongside headphones and earbuds.
Sony isn't expecting to take on the Asus Rog Ally, Lenovo Go or Steamdeck. It's literally a companion device as described on its product page. I'll be getting one, knowing w...
Awesome, but I can't understand why such a legendary game that is still getting content, can't release a 60FPS patch.
Hell at this point remaster the game even and I'll buy it. PC version is perfect but it would be so great to play this on the big screen with Dualsense features for that Batmobile drive...
@Foxtrot LOL talk about aging poorly.
Surprised by the score but I'm sure it's fair. The score is 91 on Metacritic and I've got my pre-order down for Friday launch! Honestly just wanted the spider keyring for my four year old son haha. Can't wait!
I was commenting a reply to you but didn't actually click reply xD Came out as a new comment.
I'm pretty sure Venom is going to be Harry, given the extra credits scene at the end of the first game and the "we're going to heal the world" line in the story trailer, where Venom quotes Harry word for word.
The trailers are just toying with it, but I'm sure it's Harry. It also makes for a very personal story which would be Insomniac's style and would give Pete a run into the ground after what he suffered in the first game.
That's fun, but I think it would wear out its welcome by restarting especially if it's an accidental noise into the microphone. I'd prefer any noise or scream alerting enemies or sending you into danger zone.
Oh! I honestly didn't know that. Thank you for clarifying - if it's just a cool accessory then I'm fine with that.
@Crows90
I prefer vertical as I like to display my console and don't want it tucked away in a TV unit. Just a preference.
I love this Slim edition and I want to trade my PS5 for one, but it's really stupid that a vertical stand is sold separately.
No. 40% of the game was a tutorial and I'll never forgive such terrible game design. Game was dull, quests completely forgettable, press square to kill everyone, and a story that's only memorable for its opening twist and nothing else. Assassin's Creed 3 is where the series went wrong. It course corrected gameplay wise with Black Flag but that's where I'd put the decline.
Maybe *gasp* they didn't have the idea back then. They did have the good idea of a Digital and Physical console though.
They can port the game to PC in its current state. But if that's your argument they should release the remaster as a $10 upgrade to PS5.
They released a complete remake of The Last of Us for PS5 last year? Whether you think it was necessary or great or not is besides the point. They released a game, and their last big project was three years ago.
Uncharted 4 development ran from 2011 to 2016 - it took five years to release from Uncharted 3's launch.
The Last of Us Part II development ran from 2014 to 2020 - it took 6 years to get out and 7 years after the first game.
...
While I'm in the minority who thinks this is one of the best games on PlayStation, I can't understand the rationale for a remaster. It's one of the best looking games in the industry and it runs at 60fps on PS5. It's only three years old.
I could understand remastering The Last of Us on PS4, because its frame rate and graphics were severely limited on PS3, many missed the DLC and Sony was pushing PS4 sales hard. I can even understand remaking the game becaus...
Across 7 years, yes. And TLOU2 came out 3 years ago, when the PS5 was already out. Sucker Punch also released their last title in 2020. So did they fumble this generation too? Seriously? Not to mention for whatever reason Naughty Dog chose to remake TLOU Part 1, so they did release a PS5 title a year ago.
Every single Sony Studio has released a major game in the last 3 years. PS5 generation is far from over.
Thanks for speaking sense. It's like every generation of consoles people's ("journalist's) brains wipe clean of both history and common sense.
Naughty Dog released their last massive project TLOU2 three years ago. The Last of Us 1 Remake just came out a year ago.
Santa Monica released Ragnarok four years after God of War and that was a sequel. If these people want rushed annual releases they should stick to CoD and Assassin's Creed.
...
Christopher, all of Sony's major studios have put out games this generation.
Insomniac
Miles Morales, Ratchet and Clank, and now Spider-Man 2
Guerrilla Games
Horizon Forbidden West and Horizon VR2
Bluepoint
Demon's Souls remake
Naughty Dog
The Last of Us Part 1 Remake (and TLOU2 came out in the PS5 generation)
Santa Monica
God of War Ragnarok
Naughty Dog
Uncharted 4 release date: 2016
*3 years into the PS4 generation and 3 years after The Last of Us on PS3
The Last of Us 2 release date: 2020
*6-7 years into PS4 generation, 7 years after TLOU and 4 years after Uncharted 4
The Last of Us: Part 1 Remake release: 2022
* 2 years after TLOU Part 2 and 3 years into the PS5 generation
Going by your logic Naughty Dog fumbled the last gene...
@Foxtrot In addition to this perfectly accurate and succinct comment, I'd also like to ask in what goddamn way Phil Spencer is remotely a gamer. Wearing a gaming T shirt does not make you a gamer when you know absolutely nothing about quality. You can say what you want about Jim Ryan being the most dull of PlayStation bosses with a vision that isn't popular, yet PlayStation has not released a SINGLE game that was mediocre this entire generation so far.
