It was a game where the ideas were great, and the premise and story were really interesting, but everything fell flat as far as gameplay was concerned.

And your partner really seemed to always contradict her desire to live a nice long life, the way she couldn't stay out of harm's way. You can imagine the frustration involved when you're trying to feel bad-ass pulling your broken bones and limbs back together but she's off busy trying to block swords with her b...

Yeah, reactions to Duke Nukem Forever were heavily divided, but in the end the Most Disappointing and Worst Game Awards are very subjective in nature :)

Bodycount was really, really bad, I mean like, everything about it :P Dungeon Siege 3, as we said, wasn't really horrific, we just grew bored of it much too quickly and it just wasn't any fun.

We did in truth, but we already had ten nominees and we had to reach a point where we started excluding other games. :(

Also, it's known with our community that we're not exactly the biggest Wii gamers :P

It was an inside joke with our community :P And one of our writers.

VGA's are always a little weird. BF3 wasn't nominated for Best Graphics category.

We (eGamer) gave best FPS to Battlefield 3 and it tied a win for Best Graphics.

@TheDareDevil
We didn't nominate Crysis 2 because we felt Battlefield 3 was a better choice. We have a limited number of nominees, and we wanted to acknowledge artistically brilliant games as well.

We're not 100% right, as awards are just opinions after all. ...

True statement ;) I'm one of those guys who takes reviewing extremely seriously hehehe, even for supposed lesser games, because I know that for many people reviews determine how they go about games :) So as such, I just try my best to stick to honesty as much as possible, even if it's brutal. I just give my experience with the game.

Everyone has different opinions, and the best thing for a gamer to do is get their own opinion.

Thanks a lot christheredhead :D And thank you for taking the time to read the review, your comment is much appreciated :)

Yeah, we just figured that numbers are too inaccurate, random and, at the same time, complicated a science for rating games. I actually wrote a relaxed column piece on the topic. Basically, we felt that the only two questions a review is supposed to answer at a fundamental level, is "how is this game?" and "how should I go about it?" an...

Burger_bob, there is a score - or rather, a conclusion/rating. We just do not use a number rating on our website because we don't think it's a good system for rating games, and it's too inconsistent and random.

Using words may sound like a similar thing (if you look in the review we have a "quick rating" box for those who don't want to read the entire review, and a final verdict, which has the "score" and conclusion)

Our sy...

This one is not a flame-war guys, it's a pretty in-depth comparison with a great conclusion :)

My comment said "if you play Killzone for the story, then you must be extremely silly". Which means if it's your main reason, or one of them.

I myself like good stories in many games. You're confusing something here though. I like the Killzone *universe* too, in that I like the setting, the Helghast and the weaponry. But the story? I don't really think many people are sitting on the edges of their seats watching Killzone's plot unfold.

Critics slate the story so much, but honestly, who is walking into Killzone 3 expecting an oscar-winner story? Especially after playing Killzone 2?

You don't play Killzone for the story. If you do then you must be extremely silly. Not all games have to have amazing stories. It's not a pre-requisite. Although admittedly Killzone 3 does try to shove its story down your throat quite often, but I barely paid attention to it.

The main campaign is great, h...

By that logic, there can be no honest/different opinion and no critising of "Big" or Triple A games.

No game is free of criticism or faults.

There are many "big games" these same sites have probably rated quite highly. But just because they all don't get high ratings doesn't mean there's some sinister reason for it. It's a difference of opinion.

Keep in mind that this review dropped in 2 weeks after the game's release :) So the patches were out by then..and also remember that it was reviewed on console, and not on PC, which is the evil and crappy version..we were unable to test it now though to see if any improvements have been made, so we couldn't comment..

However, our experience with the PS3 version was great, and we had no problems online, despite being all the way in South Africa.

As for...

Hi :)
As the writer of the review, I'd just like to point out that this was in my conclusion "if you’re one of those die hard Naruto fans, and especially if you loved the original title, then us being critical about this game shouldn’t matter to you and there will ultimately be no regret in making this purchase."

I basically said to ignore the rating if you're a real fan of the game/anime (in the discussion section I specifically said that if you'...

I apologise if you misunderstood what I said there :) I edited it a bit to make it more clear. :D

What I meant was that if you could have used two controllers, it would have been a lot more fun to hold the one controller as the bow and use the other to pull back arrows. However, the game only allows you to use one, so it ends up being a very dull game.

pixelsword, I was actually thinking along the same lines as you before I got to sit down and see what Move is about first hand :D It really is great, and I'm not even a fan of motion control to begin with.

Sorcery looks really interesting, I agree with you there :) So far, Sports Champions does provide a really good testing ground for the Move, but like anything very new, it will take a few months to get into the swing of things :D I have no doubt though that Move has a g...

You should definitely go for it guys, this is a really good game :D One of the best Spider-Man games around - some might even call it the best, depending on your preference of gameplay. :P

By the looks of things, quite a number of you prefer the linear structure, so I think you guys will really love this game. ;)

To those that like to swing around a huge city, keep in mind that some levels in Shattered Dimensions are really large and open, giving you the fre...
