Exactly! People just conveniently forget history when it suits them. The same articles were around about the PS4 when it started with Killzone Shadow Fall and Knack and took MONTHS before Infamous Second Son came around. Then Bloodborne dropped and the rest needs no further explanation.
The PS5 on the other hand started with Miles Morales, Demon's Souls and soon got Ratchet and Clank. How is that worse than PS4 or PS3 which started with basically Resistance Fall of Man ...
I suppose Final Fantasy 16 and Spider-Man 2 are small brand names.
It's not about brand loyalty but about accepting the fact that sometimes game development is long. Uncharted 4 took four years to make and released 6 years after Uncharted 3. The Last of Us 2 took 5 years to make and released 7 years after the first. Spider-Man took 4 years and its sequel is releasing 5 years later. And so on and so on.
The difference here is that games were being deve...
Final Fantasy 16 JUST released to rave reviews (I'm playing it and loving the hell out of it - my GOTY so far) and Spider-Man 2 is coming in October.
I don't get it???
The cross-gen titles are done, it was a necessary evil given that many of the sequels were in development during the PS4 lifecycle.
Both of Sony's last two generations started slow and then wiped the floor with the competition thereafter, so what is with all...
We're in a world where victories of slime like Phil Spencer and Bobby F'in Kotick are celebrated as "good for gamers". Let that sink in, how toxic Microsoft are for this industry.
In before Capcom and Square Enix get bought because the game industry is going to go to shit thanks to Microsoft.
You won the internet xD
This will only be relevant when factoring in digital sales and remembering that it's a PS5 exclusive. The new generation has to start sometime and it was always an inevitability that "physical" sales would decline once the 100million strong PS4 userbase was cut off. But I think most would agree with me that it's about damn time we get PS5 only exclusives and leave cross gen behind, for the benefit of the games. Sales will come as adoption picks up, as a result of games like ...
Phil Spencer, incapable of answering a direct question since the dawn of Nice Guy Phil. At least now we know we just conveniently forgets things he previously said, hence all the contradictions and lies.
I dunno, I'm playing Cyberpunk at high/ultra graphics settings without ray tracing and it's running at 70-110fps on PC - average 90fps. Can't imagine 30 fps to be the "right" choice, but I can accept that people are fine with it if they play in Fidelity Modes.
What people are actually in uproar about is the lack of an OPTION. Almost all games released on modern consoles these days have fidelity and performance modes. Digital Foundry can defend it as mu...
@4Show Stop making uneducated arguments and false comparisons. Microsoft contributed to Starfield AFTER they bought the publisher and cancelled the PS5 version. Give it up. Starfield didn't need Xbox to be created. It was already in development before Microsoft came knocking. I don't have to respond to the rest of your unsubstantiated garbage because most of it was already addressed in my comments below.
You as well can't tell the difference between funding and/...
This was my fear. I'd rather have 10 dense planets full of content and excitement rather than thousands of filler planets or endless randomly generated content. I guess we'll see how it ends up in the final game, but not excited about this particular component of the game.
Hopefully the main campaign and core side missions are great.
Microsoft is pathetic, debasing themselves to appear desperate to buy a 70 billion dollar publisher in order to be able to compete. The irony remains how much you could actually invest in your studios and creation of new games with that kind of money.
The topic of Final Fantasy 16 is not what you say it is either. According to the creators, Sony made "the best offer" which included access to their developers and resources, and so they chose to develop the game exclusively for PS5. It probably will end up on PC in future as well. The trend is pretty easy to pick up. Sony invests in games and actively contributes to their success. By the creator's own admission.bl llllllç
Now, I would not be happy if Son...
What goal posts have been moved? You are factually incorrect and making yourself look dense by comparing apples and oranges.
"Marvel's Spider-Man" is funded, published and owned by Sony in collaboration with Marvel. Sony invested in the CREATION OF THIS GAME. I know you Xbox fans can't fathom how that works.
"Spider-Man: Web of Shadows" is not backed by Sony by comparison and is a multi-platform game. Just like any of the other...
The first of many inevitable Game Pass price hikes.
I'm so tired of this false equivalence about Spider-Man. The old weak Spider-Man games published by Activision were multiplatform. Sony funded and published Insomniac's Spider-Man, so it's their game. Nothing was taken away from Xbox because Sony invested in a good Spider-Man game that without said investment wouldn't exist.
Microsoft doesn't bother to invest in such projects, so I don't get why Xbox fans cry foul.
Starfield and Re...

So the console that has millions more sales and players across PS4 and PS5 has more casuals. Go figure. You could probably score a Nobel with this discovery.
Lol Shinoff you are crazy, don't disrespect the PS3. It may have had a slow start but it was a phenomenal generation that also began some fantastic new IPs. When you look at games like Killzone, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War 3, Infamous, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Resistance, Demon's Souls... Sony's "worst" is still incredible.
Don't let it get you down! I am in love with Final Fantasy 16, it's probably my favourite game this year and the only FF title in a long time to truly suck me into the world, story, characters, music, atmosphere and combat - the total package. It's a massive win for me.
