I suppose it must be all the bitter PlayStation fanboys on Steam bombing Starfield as well. It couldn't possibly be that the game is disappointing to many.
The battery life issue can be addressed with a super charging solution like some high end phones or the Asus or Lenovo Legion Go have without needing to massively add to the cost with more power, for the reasons you mentioned.
It's not the end of the world if you have to charge after 4 hours if it takes 30 minutes to charge.
So perhaps an upgraded deck with a faster charging solution or better display, or smaller form factor. There's plenty of roo...

1) We're not talking about the feature, we're talking about how Insomniac grew from being a solid, decent developer to one of the best.
2) Not sure what point you think you're making. We all know GTA5 was ambitious and amazing for its time to pull this off, no one is saying Spider-Man 2 invented it. But GTA5 required loading and compromised graphics to achieve it. Spider-Man 2 does it with almost no loads and high fidelity visuals ...
The news indicated that Naughty Dog was working on a new IP so I doubt it's The Last of Us Part 3. Naughty Dog usually has 4 to 6 year development cycles so they're into their new game.
Ghost of Tsushima came out 3 years ago so it's likely Sucker Punch are neck deep in their new project - I would estimate a release by 2025.
Bluepoint are also working on their next game, it's been 3 years since Demon's Souls.
Many o...
It's called vision and investment. Compare Insomniac before Sony's acquisition to after. They were a solid studio before, now they're one of the world's best making one of PlayStation's biggest system sellers.
That's what this industry needs.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Sony is keeping tight lipped on its other titles to give all the attention to Spider-Man, because there's just no way Sucker Punch, Naughty Dog's new s...
I can't think of a company I dislike more in the gaming space right now. They're really in the business of ruining this industry. Not one thing they've acquired has turned to gold and I can't think of one single studio they've nurtured and grown. All their key franchises are shadows of their former selves, Halo, Fable, Gears of War. They create nothing.
Question: who invested actual money into this game, acquired Insomniac and gave them the resources to grow into one of the best developers in the industry today?
Now tell me again how exclusivity and quality has no relation.
The game gets ported to PC. It's made for PS5.
I have a gaming PC and a PS5 and I ain't crying about it because I'm glad this game exists.
Yet the people, their mindsets, modus operandi and the endgame of Microsoft hasn't? Also, Phil has no credibility.
He's referring to Street Fighter 6 I believe.
Tell me you want to monopolise and canabilise the gaming industry without telling me you want to monopolise and canabilise the industry.
This whole GTA 5 comparison is disingenuous. GTA 5 was ambitious and amazing for its time, but it couldn't achieve it without a lengthy load and graphics fit for the era, constrained by the hardware. The reason Spider-Man 2 is touted as next-gen is because it happens almost instantaneously with the incredibly high visual fidelity to boot.
No one is saying Spider-Man 2 invented it, they're saying it's the next level of it. So please stop purposefully acting dumb ...
What I don't get is how misinformed people are about this. Firstly you don't need to be on the same network as your PS5. Any WiFi will do as long as it's a good connection. And secondly this is NOT a new console, it's literally an accessory being advertised alongside headphones and earbuds. It would be difficult for this to flop because Sony's risk factor is low given that they're selling this for the price of their accessories.
I don't get why p...
The sad part is that I actually really enjoyed the last game, Blacklist. It may have lacked the iconic voice but the gameplay was excellent, and blended stealth, action and a mix really great compared to most games, where none of the three options felt like the wrong way to play. I really hope they either produce a remake of the original game or a proper sequel.
I 100% agree with you and share the same view. My problem with Games Pass is that it's a terrible idea for your system sellers, the biggest games you can offer. I'll never be convinced that Games Pass is a better deal than Grand Theft Auto or Spider-Man or God of War selling the multi-million copies they do with massive production values and budgets. And until I see it I won't believe that Games Pass can produce such quality. Like all streaming services, the underlying push to alw...
This year has been ridiculously great, my GOTY is Final Fantasy 16 so far and I haven't even played Balder's Gate 3 or Resident Evil 4 remake yet (or Spider-Man 2) but these article seem to come out every year xD
Smart: release a discless version of a next-gen console which achieves the goal of being cheaper with a trade-off many will be happy to take, zero effect on games.
Dumb: release a weaker version of a console alongside the launch of a next-gen console and enforce parity, hamstringing your generation from day one.
Consoles aren't PCs. You can't just turn all the dials down and have it run on Series S because of parity, and it has to be optimised exa...
I loved Web of Shadows, but watching the gameplay for Spider-Man 2 I feel like Insomniac got this ;)
Lol someone skipped Marvel's Spider-Man.
Demon's Souls
Final Fantasy 16
Spider-Man 2
God of War Ragnarok
Gran Turismo
Horizon: Forbidden West
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
Returnal
?????
Not one of the above titles scored anything less than great.
While I do agree that Sony has been unusually quiet, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is in February. So there is another big title after Spider-Man 2.
