Spot on. Ubisoft needs to stop their homogenisation of their franchises and go back to what made Far Cry special, which they've obviously forgotten. It's how the series completely transformed itself from game to game, I mean, Far Cry 1, 2 and 3 are worlds apart which kept the franchise fresh every entry. As you said, they've simply tried to recapture 3 since then.
A very, very long time ago I commented on this lovely site after God of War Ascension released and suggested that the series needed to reinvent itself and possibly embrace Norse Mythology. I was told that would never work with God of War and it would ruin the series.
Well well, Ragnarok surely is coming, sealing the deal on two of the PlayStation's greatest ever games.
I must have missed the part where Rockstar, or any creative artist, owes you anything. Criticise a bad product or a bad practice, but don't criticise the time taken to make a great product. They can take as long as they like to make their game the way they want it and they don't have any obligation to give you news about it. Some of you guys want things immediately but you'll be the first to crush an unfinished product and say it needed more time in the oven. Regardless of how you...
No way. I hate Dead Space 3. Not only did it kill the survival horror core of the series with infinite ammo and medpacks, but it was the early beginning of EA's despicable microtransactions practices in single player games that eventually became a virus in the industry. Never forget the 10 minute resource gathering robot that you could pay to have it cut down to 5 minutes, rather than just have that as an unlock in the game, which every game known to man before then would have done. Then ...
Tetris is political.
Thanks for this. In 16 years of PlayStation gaming, since the PS3 era, I've had literally two issues but they were covered by the warranty with zero problems and I've never had a repeat.
With the PS4 I had abnormal tearing of the rubber on the analogue after a few months, it was acknowledged as a manufacturing defect and replaced by Sony.
With the PS5, my R2 button spring broke and the button was activating at the slightest push, again it was ackn...
I don't understand why this is so hard to grasp. It's a remake because it's been rebuilt, it isn't remastering old assets like the actual remaster.
Aside from the obvious answer of sales, the reason this exists is so that they can bring the original up to the level of TLOU2, and they're almost tinkering it to be Ellie's story as you can see from the promotional material and the way it's named.
If you want to debate whether it...
I just downloaded the PS5 update. I also found R1 to jump to be something to get used to, but don't worry, you can remap all of the buttons as you please.
"I disagree, with PS2 we had truly next gen exclusive games like Silent Hill 2 and MGS2 within around 12 months of launch, Atleast in NA/EU."
You left out the next part of my sentence that you quoted, which was that at the very least it has easily eclipsed the past 2 generations. I agree, the PS2 is the all time great, and the technological leap from PS1 to PS2 was enormous, whereas there are diminishing returns in this era.
What you're not...
Orchard, the only way chinchilla could "lose the argument" would be if you actually had a point. Apparently you've forgotten how launch years have looked like for the past 4 console generations. Since memories are always borderline Alzheimer's here and looking up facts is too hard, let me remind you that the PS4 launched with basically Knack, Resogun and Shadow Fall. You didn't see another exclusive for about 6 months until Infamous Second Son in 2014. And then had to wa...
Why would Steam Deck require anything remotely like a 'game pass' when Steam repeatedly has some of the best sales you can find on an regular basis? Not only that, but all marketplaces are open to you, from GOG to Origen to uPlay to CD Keys.
Don't forget the resource gathering robot that took 10 minutes to get you supplies unless you paid real money to get your resources in 5 minutes.
One of the earliest, most predatory ideas of a microtransaction to ever 'grace' a game.
Oh, and having quite literally 900 bullets and 25 med packs in your inventory is hardly the survival horror Dead Space was built upon.
Yeah, it is as bad as I remember.
It's for me!
My gaming PC is 5 years old and cannot keep up with current games. The Steam Deck is an amazing solution to replace my gaming PC for half the price, enjoy my full Steam library on the go, and take advantage of Streams incredible store and sales for all the indies, team MP and non-PS games.
I don't need to have my PC run games at the best graphics settings and spend a small fortune on a system that can, I have a PS5 to enjoy graphics.

False. Both Dead Cells and Hades save your progress by allowing you to return to the last "room" or "level" upon quitting and restarting the game.
We all know that rogue-like games restart when you die. Being able to pause, save and go do something else in between is vital.
Rest mode is not a solution because your console could glitch or a power failure could lose your progress...or more importantly you just can't quit and play any...
While I don't have a problem with your comment, I really feel you should have made some attempt at originality or even personality.

It's not entirely unprecedented. Batman: Arkham Knight also endured a shambolic release on PC with performance so unplayable it had to be removed from the Steam store.
Rocksteady shut up, stopped apologising and worked on re-releasing a quality PC version which they eventually did and that was that.
CDPR needs to do the same.
Witchcraft, your comment is a strawman loaded with such ignorance it's a miracle you thought to post it.
God of War was a sequel that was a complete shift in every conceivable way from every game in the series prior, it was a massive risk which could have alienated the entire fanbase. Instead, it became one of the games of the generation.
Horizon, regardless of genre, is a new IP. That is the definition of risk. If a new IP is not a risk, then what th...
@tehpees3
The level of ridiculousness in the arguments presented in the comments these days is growing. You think it's good sense to dramatically increase the cost of next-gen consoles by adding in 3TB *SSD* hard drives? For what purpose? This is the debut of hyper fast SSDs on consoles which IS next-gen. Storage management is a thing no matter which platform you choose to game on, and I've gamed on them all.
No matter which console you speak of, this is a ...
@Zeref
I just logged in to say that I've been here for many, many years and I have got to say that your comments are among the most ignorant I have ever read on this site.

That's 7 exclusives this year alone. Traditi...
ManMarmalade, you need to see things for how they are in the industry, not through your lens. Irrespective of whether Call of Duty is rinse and repeat or not, it's the biggest franchise in gaming and consistently generates the most revenue. You cannot replicate its success, just like you cannot create another Grand Theft Auto, another Apple, another Fortnite, another Dota 2, or even another Fast and Furious film franchise, despite how shockingly bad those movies have got.
