My comment had nothing to do the rumor that ME may or may not be coming to the PS3 because I personally don't think it will.

Instead, my comment was a fact to dispel your false logic that because a major studio, in this case MSFT, published a big name title means it will never see the light of day on another platform.

And why would anyone be desperate because of NPD? I can't play monthly sales figures so they mean absolutely nothing to me.

Just because one company publishes something is not a 100% guarantee that it won't go multiplat. Especially if the IP isn't directly owned by said company.

Final Fantasy 7 (which SE owns, just like Bioware owns ME) was published by Sony for the PS1 and by Eidos for the PC.

I'd actually want it to be BETTER than the 360 version. That version was plagued with horrible slow-down and framerate issues. Not to mention the load times were pretty long and the texture streaming on levels sometimes took 12-15 seconds to load properly.

They didn't really say much about the control scheme which, IMO, will make or break for the game.

Personally, I hope it's like Civilizations: Revolutions. It struck a good balance and served its purpose well. But that game was lambasted for it's over simplification. I don't think Halo will have those same critiques IF it is like C:R, however. I mean, it's Halo after all.

Except that ODST is an expansion

ODST design director Paul Bertone:

"When we were thinking about the Chief or the Arbiter stories that we could tell, there was just no story that fit into a THREE to FIVE-hour EXPANSION PACK, which is what we're building here."

It might not require Halo 3 to play, but it's no different than RAC: Quest for Booty, which didn't require TOD to play. The only probable difference is that MS will probably have you pay ...

Not only that, but there is no install.

"Seb Downie, QA Manager for developer Guerrilla Games, confirmed that the PlayStation 3's highly anticipated first-person shooter will not delay the action by installing content to the hard drive first. Sez Seb: "No install. Optional or otherwise."

Whether or not Killzone meets, or in some areas surpasses, Crysis' graphics is not the issue. What is more interesting is the fact that people are ABLE to compare Killzone 2 to what many claim is the best looking game this gen. IMO if such comparisons can be made, that right there legitimizes the graphic prowess of Killzone 2 over other console FPSs.

Here's how the real world works.

The fact that Sony saw a 40% increase in sales of the PS3 over calander 2008 means A LOT more to the company and investors than poor November and significantly better (yet less than the 360 and Wii) sales of December. Also, that 40% is on top of the growth of the PSP and the continued sales of the PS2.

Something else, Sony's fiscal year--you know the ACTUAL time period that measures how a company is doing financially and what their a...

So...sony fanboys are scared of a one minute gameplay-less trailer shown 3 years after the game is announced?

At least with Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain (the top two titles sony fanboys claim 360 fanboys are afraid of), the next time the devs actually revealed the game they had gameplay to back it up.

I wasnt too impressed with the DLC, to be honest. The three quests were the same "Go here, dig this, go to the shrine and fight to the end" ordeal. The enemies were too easy and the plot was laughable.

The treasures and dig spots were nothing special (Unless your character is fat, then you'll dig the various fat burn potions), although the Knothole Knight Armor is kinda cool looking. Even the Halo rifle was useless to me--I had a rifle that had a higher attack power. ...

Is the "Killzone 2 over hyped?" articles going to start replacing the "Ps3 is doomed!" articles? Because this will be the fourth one to broach the subject if it gets approved.

And before someone jumps in with a "read the article" comment, I did. Personally, it doesn't matter if a person is arguing either way on the subject. The amount of these articles showing up here is getting ridiculous.

"These PS3 fan articles are funny its amazing PS3 fans have not learned MSFT announces their lineup mid to late in the year"

Except that they don't. By the GDC in February of last year, we knew of Fable 2, Gears 2, and all the other major exclusives to be released in 2008. The "mystery" games that MSFT had were holding back were XBL Arcade games that went along with the NXE--most of which have still not been released by the way.

As of right now, ...

It's a shame that, outside of the 9 hour main quest, that half of that supposed 50 hours is meaningless.

Btw, the entire game, with all sidequests finished, is about 22-25 hours.

I wouldn't call Halo: ODST going out with a "bang."

ODST design director Paul Bertone:

"When we were thinking about the Chief or the Arbiter stories that we could tell, there was just no story that fit into a THREE to FIVE-hour EXPANSION PACK, which is what we're building here."

Seems more like the Halo equivalent of RAC: Quest for Booty.

well that's what happens with no context.

But tbh, I'm sure the number is hardware sales, as you've stated below. If it did overtake MGS 4, Sony would be bragging.

6258d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

No, the title alludes to it selling more hardware, i.e.PS3's, than MGS 4.

The actual article says "software sold" which is the game itself.

6258d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I thought that too, at least from the title. But this:

"White Knight Chronicles has outsold Metal Gear Solid 4 in Japanese SOFTWARE SALES..."

makes it seem like it's talking about units of the game sold.

6258d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The article gives no context.

Is this sales to date?
Is this first week sales?
Is it first month sales?

---

Considering MGS 4 sold 650,000 to date, it's impressive if WKC sold that many.

Oh, and SquareEnix...

You ready to release some titles on PS3 yet?

As I guy who's played every MG game and have marveled at how each game pushes past the previous one and even past it's contemporaries, I HOPE Killzone 2 surpasses it.

But as for making comparisons, I'll have to wait until the demo or the full game.

And how well did Ninja Gaiden 2 do against MGS 4?

What this shows ME (i.e. my opinion) is that MS isn't confident in the selling power of these releases and is relying on the name brand of both to blunt Killzone 2. Does this mean MS is afraid of Killzone 2? I don't know. But this move means they are aware of the "potential" the title has. The real test of MS' commitment to these titles however, is how well they'll be marketed.
