wow. just...wow.
I'm in a charitable mood, so I'll break it down for the mentally challenged:
This is an article about sales. Therefore, the comments in the article are going to relate to said topic.

A novel concept of staying on topic, huh?
Now, coming to this thread about sales to negatively comment that the people in it are talking about sales is beyond the pale of illogical statements.
There is something missing from the preview text.
It reads: "White Knight Chronicles leads the pack at 212K copies sold."
The original text:
"White Knight Chronicles leads the pack at 212K copies sold in just 3 days."
It's a little nitpicky, but that distinction is important considering the other titles mentioned sold over a 5 day period.
Also, a week is Sunday-Saturday, not Monday-Sunday. So the dates shoul...
One point about the "Bosses" comment...
In New Super Mario Bros. the idea that Bowser should die after this first encounter is actually addressed in a logical (for a Mario game anyway) fashion:
He does die after this first encounter (turns to bones and everything) and is resurrected via magic at the end of the game.
Sure it took them over 20 years to make this move, but that right there makes this point less valid. Although the 4 stage boss in...
Because human beings are experts at justifying all sorts of actions and consequences using the most meager and often self-serving of reasons.
In this case the usual argument is:
"Well, the games and LIVE justify the constant need to send in my console."
or
"Once (insert new motherboard name) hits, RROD will be a thing of the past."
Pressing the power button?
No joke, but I believe the idea of planned obsolescence has taken on a whole new level in this ongoing saga of death.
I mean, HOW many people before the $1 billion RR-Bailout opted for the fee of replacing their console?
Of those who went through the "sending their console to MS" only to have it RROD on them again, how many said "f*ck it!" and just bought a new console?
If even 10% of those who fell within the 33% failure rate bough...
D@MN that is a good looking game! Even as a YouTube video.
I cannot wait to experience that intro in HD goodness.
I actually remember an article from earlier in January 2008 that said the cost to manufacture a PS3 had cut in half..
It was a "Business Week" article:
The article quotes Nikko Citigroup analyst Kota Ezawa, who stated that each PlayStation 3 now costs approximately US$400 to make, as opposed to US$800 at its US launch.
So take that for what you will. Especially since there has been several size reductions and cost-cutting measures since January...
While I agree with your statement about the hardware and third-party publishers and developers moving away from the exclusive, the first-party exclusive will still be an important part of defining the consoles of future generations. And as long as Sony maintains it's first party studios and a) buys out it's second party or b) continues to publish their work then Sony will always have a leg up on total available content and unique IPs.
I mean, it wouldn't make since to have mult...
haha...if this was 1997 and you were talking about the the original Fallout, then I'd agree.
But if you're talking about Fallout 3, then wow.
That game was a pretty package (about 70% of the time, anyway) with shallow gameplay--the V.A.Ts (probably the more innovative aspect of the game) served nothing more than to cover-up a poor fps shooting mechanic and to appeal to the "I wanna see lots of blood and gore" crowd.
The story is a joke--
...
I'll second the Fallout 3 disappointment. Which is sad because the Fallout universe (not to mention the first two games) has such an interesting and amazing combination between story and gameplay.
This game just doesn't have it in the story department. I mean it is literally--
a) Follow dad from point A to point B
b) when you arrive, dad is gone but do some random task and I'll tell you where he is
c) repeat points (a) and (b) until you find dad and th...
I ran into numerous glitches in the single player:
1. The most common was an A.I controlled Dom freezing in place or disappearing completely.
2. The "Jesus" Dom. In the gunboat ride right before the Leviathan battle, Dom was out in the the water next to the gunboat frozen in place but turning circles shooting. The funny thing is that he was keeping pace with the gunboat despite not moving.
3. I had to restart the Brumak ride at the end of the gam...
And what if it was claimed as a timed exclusive for "a long time"? The very fact it's "timed" means it's still multiplatform and coming to the PS3.
Well, seeing as Bioware owns the IP and EA owns Bioware it is very likely that any contract was voided. IF there even was a contract to produce a trilogy exclusively for the 360 in the first place.
MS has a history of publishing one title, seeing how it sells and then signing up for sequels. However, the EA/Bioware acquisition occurred in October, before the game was officially released in November.
Those are some pretty weak reasons.
1. Two multiplatform games--although they both have the possibility of being timed exclusives but still a "timed exclusive" is still multiplat.
2. Two Halo games--One being an expansion pack and the other being a console RTS. The first selling because of the multiplayer and curiosity of a non-Master Chief Halo and both selling because of the "Halo"-name. I mean, the console RTS' that are currently out have sol...
It is a challenging game in places and, despite Sackboy and the art style, is far from a "kids game." It was only called a kids game by:
1. the judge a book by their cover crowd
2. xbox fanboys

You mean you're a fan of "Level 5" right?
The reason I discount Omega's claim is the simple fact the game has received one review and trying to base the claim that "Level 5 isn't the new SE" on said review is illogical. Especially considering that this isn't the devs first game and all of Level 5's games have sold in the 300,000-400,000 range within two weeks upon their release in Japan.
Sure, both Last Remnant and Infinite Un...
Yes, because of one score Level 5 "isn't the new SE."
Considering Famitsu gave both Haze and Lair extremely high marks (36 and 34 respectively) I'll take this with a grain of salt. Besides, the review itself is overwhelmingly positive (the translation on that page is horrible btw)--their only complaint is that it's too much like their previous titles.
Also, they gave Last Remnant a 38/40 and we all know how it scored in the West.
If anything, people in Japan will probably pick it up because of Level 5's track record. ...
