If Killzone 2 sales meet and exceed expectations, I would love for GG to do a remake of Killzone 1 using the KZ 2 engine.
I believe it would work and they could actually make the original meet their expectations and not be limited by the system's hardware.
Every person who can spot what's wrong with this sentence:
"Microsoft said Tuesday that only a very small amount of users have experienced the problem."
will get a free bubble.
Yeah, people seem to forget two things:
1. They got beat LAST November in sales and by the same margin.
2. The PS3 outsold the 360 in the United States for 7 months of this year. Including the first price drop/ fire sale.
It pains me as a gamer to see titles like the one's you mentioned and the newer crop of innovative and damn fun IP's (LBP, Braid and Valkyria Chronicles to name some) get outsold by $60-$180 expansion packs (Madden, Guitar Hero, Rock Band) and mindless shooter # 76878.
according to the Spike VGA, MGS 4 has the best graphics.
It's too bad there won't be any coverage of this awards show except a general run down of the winners. So any analysis of the PS3, as a console, taking home a number of awards will be limited.
The truth is, any sort of coverage of these type of shows is tied to one particular title winning numerous awards. Now, MGS 4 did win more awards than any other game, I believe. But the cynic in me wants to say that somehow that will be spun into a "MGS 4 coming to the 360" thing....
love these run downs. Watched 20 minutes of the show, with Neil Patrick Harris, and just cringed and turned it off.
True they are lame. But that doesn't mean they do not reach a lot of people or get people to notice a particular game. Every level of the gaming industry knows these type of shows are great marketing tools. Especially since they reach millions of viewers.
I honestly think it was a compromise between those who decides these things. I mean, every game but 2 were exclusives to either the PS3 or 360 so it makes sense that the judges, maybe on a split vote, decided on GTA IV as an alternative.
And of the two mulitplats, only GTA IV has that big time blockbuster status. While Fallout definitely made a name for itself, in terms of sheer popularity, it doesn't hold a candle to the GTA series.
I'm surprised that a crappy video games award show, yet one seen by millions and sponsored by the nation's largest games retailer, actually gave "Best Graphics" to MGS 4.
I don't disagree, although there were some heavy hitters on that list and it could have gone to any one of them. But wow.
I actually laughed out loud twice at that trailer.
"That's my blood..that's my blood..that's a lot of my blood"
"oh crap!"
Lines like that are the reason Uncharted is in my top five favorite games. I cannot wait until this game comes out.
Because everyone knows these truths about PS3 games and gaming announcements:
1. The trailer CAN'T be CG. Or there will be tons of flak that SONY is 'lying.'
2. The trailer can't have less than 90% gameplay footage, or it's deemed an automatic fail and the game will be subject to article after article claiming said game fails.
3. If there is gameplay, it HAS to look like CGI. Moreover, there can be no noticeable flaws in the presentation of the trailer (a...
Im gonna call it right now:
Tomorrow there will be a flood of articles claiming how "GOW III is going to flop"
As Jaffe stated earlier last week, the trailer at the VGA was NOT the one he saw. He even said he was disappointed that they weren't showing the version he saw.
I was thinking the same thing.
It'll probably be something like...
"PS2 sales fall to all time low! Down 1,456.5% since launch!"
When the first Animal Crossing came out, my friend and I firmly believed him to be with that world's Mafia:
His overly hostile nature aside, he would always drop vague threats towards my character, a lot of which bordered on the whole "sleep with the fishes" motif, and was always wanting me to to "whack" something.
And hey, the fact he was always carrying either a shovel or pick-ax didn't help those perceptions.
Oh man, this stuff is getting ridiculous.
1. It's "plagued" huh? Wow, that's a little bit of hyperbole there. I've been on quite a bit since launch and I've seen TWO cases where someone was harassing someone. So, unless he's going around looking for these sex fiends, or is one himself, it's just sensationalism on his part.
2. He couldn't resist that little dig at the end about "things going poorly" and " falling sales going into the holiday...
And THQ wonders why they are in financial trouble.
Except for Ubisoft and EA. But you knew that already, right MS?
Why doesn't anyone call out this BS. I mean, both of these companies (THIRD PARTY) said that they generated most of their revenue on the PS3.
It was originally released on the Sharp x68000 computer system. It was then released in the United States on the PS 1 in 2001 but was very hard to find, I believe.
It is essentially a remake of the original Castlevania but with redone levels and character sprites. That means its the pre-SOTN linear-style gameplay.
