makes sense. But we'll see if that's how it actually translates. If I had to guess, I'd say that Metacritic will give it the low end of whatever an A translates to.

I'm just overly cynical on the whole review process anyway.

I believe it goes like this:

A- = 90-93
A = 94-97
A+ = 98-100

But I think an "A" get's translated to a 90 on meta-scores.

That is a pretty, pretty game.

I'm sorry, but has anyone ever been in a warzone? Particularly with Marines?

Saying "fvck" is like saying "the." And it's one of the nicer curse words thrown around. If anything, the dialogue is more true to life than even the lines spewed in the COD series.

Great hear we go again. Star Ocean will help the 360 outsell the PS3 for a few weeks and "news" sites will report on the "360's dominance in Japan and how it will turn the tide!" in the region. In the mean time, the rest of us paying attention will have a serious case of "been there, done that" having see similar interest in Tales of Vesperia and whatever other title SE put out that week.

I'll wait until more reviews come in, but OPM's review pretty much confirmed what I said 13 days ago.

I said: "But I don't think RE 5 will be hammered in reviews for it's lack of innovation. It's well established that big name and legacy franchises aren't held to the same standards as new IP's. Plus, RE 5 has Co-op, which automatically means it will get at least a 9 and will probably be the main focus of a majority of reviews."

OPM said (cited from CVG and ...

Well, it's always a good feeling to be proven right. I posted this 12 days ago:

"I can guarantee you there will be a lot of "Killzone 2 doesn't bring anything new to the genre" thrown around in reviews.

I hope I'm wrong. But going by the prevailing notion that PS3 games somehow have to go beyond convention and "define" a particular genre, I won't be surprised (and neither should anyone) that KZ 2 will be nitpicked beyond belief."

I want this game too. Odin Sphere was really good, so naturally this game has been on my radar. But I hope they find a way around the slow-down that plagued some of the more massive boss battles. But I trust the devs.

God I hope this game is good. It has such promise, especially from a technical standpoint and the implementation of procedural damage--i.e. when Wolverine gets shot or burned it will reflect on the character model to the point of being able to see his skeleton, assuming the damage is bad enough. Plus said damage will heal in real-time.

Just focus on making the combat fun and not repetitive and buffer the story with some comic-inspired missions.

I agree. I too purchased the armor out of curiosity of DLC.

But I have to add something to this comment: "what's odd is that to this day its still a popular item to buy even with all the bad press. maybe its a testament to why xbox live is such a popular venue for companies."

It's more a testament to the rubes on the planet and the ability of companies to bilk those people out of their money. So as long as things like Horse Armor continue to sell the way i...

While I applaud Sony for the innovative nature of their console development, I think they would be wise to use the PS4 as their "recoup" console. So instead of investing heavily in brand-new tech, this would mean using better versions of existing tech (revamped Cell and RSX, larger HDD, high-capacity and faster Blu-ray, and more RAM). That way there is already a familiarity with the hardware for developers and the likely hood of early-cycle development issues wouldn't be a problem. ...

My perfect Fallout game would be in two acts:

Act 1 would be fairly linear and take place before the nuclear war where you create a character who is working for the US government doing various missions aimed at reestablishing order in the wake of the successful Alaskan liberation movement. As the story for act 1 progresses, you learn that the U.S. has a plan of their own to invade China--which is preceded by a tactical nuclear strike on the country--to capture experimental techn...

I second the whole, "you do realize this is on the PS3 too right?"

If it were an exclusive your paranoia towards PS3 fanboys would at least be justified. But the fact its MULTIPLATFORM means those fanboys have just as much right to a negative opinion as you do yours.

Hearing the people defend the controls of RE 5 is giving me flash backs to the Too Human demo. When people complained about the controls of that game there were plenty of "you're just n00bs", "the more you play it the more you get used to it" (which is true of any game), "stop hating the controls," " you didn't even try it," etc.

It's too bad this is a Resident Evil game because if this were a new IP, it probably would get hammered IF the c...

Don't forget Vanity. They don't actually give scores in their reviews but a numerical score is given by Metacritic because they are registered on the site.

Here's the rub: "[For Q4], Sony sold 4.46 million PS3s worldwide, down 9% from the year prior, Reuters reports."

For Q4? Wow. Using one quarter of sales to justify your article. What about the actual 40% increase prior to Q4 results? Not gonna mention that are you?
