Recent shooters aren't exactly known for their lengthy campaign modes. Games like this are meant to be played online, so I would imagine that the majority of consumers bought it for that reason. I think most people would rather developers put the effort into the multiplayer since that's what the most players are going to want.
It's funny how people are dissing "casual" and complaining that it is being forced upon us. People willingly forking over hundreds of millions of dollars, Euro, yen...
That doesn't sound forced to me.
A true gamer will play anything that's fun. A poser would refuse to play something just because they think they're above it.
What would prevent Xbox from being a viable platform by the end of 2010?
Thank you very much!
If Natal can support 4 players at once then a wireless adapter won't be necessary. This technology is going to be targeted at friends and family who will be playing in the same room, so why will there be a need for a Wifi adapter and an Live Gold subscription? That drops $150 off of the cost comparison list that many people like to publish with their posts. The on-board memory in the Arcade unit is more than adequate for game saves, so the $100 for an HDD is not necessary.
If MS ...
Was there a game other than Eye of Judgement and a handful of PSN titles to support the PSEye? Sony didn't really throw much support behind that peripheral.
You have no way to substantiate any of what you've said. At this point it's all opinion. How can you possibly know that ltd sales of PS3 will have surpassed 360 by this time next year? Honestly, you can't. Even if the PS3 outsells 360 by 1m units this year that doesn't mean that a cheap Natal won't have an impact.
In case you haven't noticed, the casual gamer market has a lot of purchasing power as seen by the Wii's success. If they can pack Natal in with a 360 for $200 for next...
Um, masterg? N64 didn't even sell 40 million consoles. Super Mario 64 sold less than 12 million copies.
This game is going to be so much fun! While my "hardcore" buddies are busy with their war and killing I'm going old school. It doesn't take bullets and blood to have a good time.
Don't buy a used console, it may be banned. Between 600k and 1m are a lot of consoles banned when all is said and done. That's a lot in the supply chain.
Way to stereotype and generalize. I know plenty of people who would be considered upper class who shop at Walmart. Rich people don't get rich by throwing away their money as there's no sense in paying more than you have to.
The kids today...
Prepare for less game for your money from EA. I wonder if they're going to invest in a new set of cookie cutters?
Piracy free so far. When it's cost-effective to pirate the pirates will figure out how to do it. I guess the answer is to use technology that is too expensive to be worth it to the average pirate. You may also prevent some paying customers from buying your product, but sooner or later you'll get the price down enough for people to catch up.
It's only a matter of time before someone cost-effectively mods a PS3. I doubt Sony is the only company to ever figure out how to prevent it....
If it were that simple there wouldn't be so many trolls around here. People love to disparage what they don't even use.
Just because your friend has 5 accounts doesn't mean everyone does. And if your friend has 5 gold accounts then he has more money than good sense.
You can't leave the Wii out of it when it has twice the install base as the PS3. The Wii is the dominant console in terms of numbers sold. There's no way to spin that.
Microsoft's first-to-market strategy actually worked for them. They've surpassed Xbox sales, which was one of their goals, and they continue to hold the lead that first year gave them over the PS3. I don't think anyone actually believes that Microsoft is going to come out in first or even second place by the time n...
When was it Microsoft's goal to "destroy Sony"? (Or I could be like you and say $ony, but I digress)
Microsoft has competed very well against Sony and 360 has held more market share than PS3 up until now. So don't let your personal bias get in the way of your better senses. Thus far Sony hasn't outclassed any of their competitors in this generation where it counts, and that's install base. Millions of people use their Wii's and 360's regularly and are quite happy with t...
Depends upon whom you ask.
PSN dedicated servers FTW I guess. There are a lot of people who should be eating crow for predicting that Live would be the service that went down. Instead it's PSN that took the dump. Just goes to show that these problems can and do happen. There have been issues with both services in the past and there will be issues in the future. But this proves that Live's central servers and P2P gaming can, and do, hold up under a heavy load.
