The official Playstation forums were on fire with reports of bricked systems and freezing problems after the 3.0 update. I don't understand how anyone who has been around here for the last few months didn't hear of it.

Of course, at the time we had the usual "experts" in here crowing about how people should take better care of their systems and crap like that and the bastions of "never happened to me" people. Of course, everyone is a "never happened to me...

Exactly. System software updates are mandatory if you want to use XBL or PSN when new firmware is available. So you have no choice but to take that chance. Therefor if something goes wrong then the company should have to fix the brick they created.

I had a firmware update brick my 360. It was fine, I updated, it died. My Wii also bricked after a failed software update. No reason why a failed software update couldn't eventually do the same thing to my PS3.

And for the folks criticizing the two guys that started this lawsuit, why don't you people grow up a bit? It takes one person with the courage to change things to stand up and do the right thing. If you fools don't mind handing over $150 on the day your system bricks then ...

That just makes too much sense, my friend. People posting on this topic won't be able to comprehend it.

Exactly, XDF. Right now is a great time to be a multiple console owner. And if you can pick up that second console and get 100 bones to buy games with that's just gravy. Only a fool wouldn't see the positive in that.

To see what people are saying in this tread that offer certainly must have been part of Sony's plans. Of course, when Microsoft has the same kind of deal going that reeks of desperation, according to them. Memories certainly are short and selective around here.

I find it funny how when Microsoft has a price cut or premium offer people start yelling "desperate" but when Sony frantically cuts features and price as fast as possible people call it a "plan". The whole thing is rather pathetic. What gamer in their right mind wouldn't want to pick up a console at an awesome deal price? Microsoft's XBox division has been posting great profits, so why shouldn't they offer a premium to purchase the system? It makes perfect sense, especiall...

I still have 31 GB free on my 60 GB launch PS3, so I don't see the need to upgrade anything. I usually only play one or two games at a time and I don't leave the installs there when I don't need them. 250 GB would be a waste of space for me.

Today is the official street date? Because I saw them for sale at Gamestop on Monday. I thought it was weird because Best Buy didn't have them, just a mountain of the 120GB model they were putting out for the holidays.

Based on that list 2009 was a better year for me than 2010 is shaping up to be. I want more games like InFamous, Assassins Creed and Uncharted. Heavy Rain looks like it's going to be a good one. Agent might be good, but not enough info yet. Forget the rest of the list on that site. Those games just aren't for me.

It's spam. Probably a bot.

Not even going to watch the video because the guy absolutely annoys me. I will say that 2009 was pretty lean for me as far as the 360 is concerned. Most of my gaming dollars went into my PS3. Hopefully 2010 is better and there's more than a title or two worth picking up on the 360.

Kameo is a really great game. If you have a 360 and haven't played it then it is probably worth your time, especially if you like games along the lines of Jak and Daxter. It's every bit as visually impressive as Ratchet and Klank and is way more open. You can probably find a used copy for $10 or less these days.

I'm older than I'd like to admit and I love watching cartoons. I have every episode of the original Transformers. So yeah, I get what you're saying.

I guess Edward has that power over people.

I'll be getting this title for sure. Let the "hardcore" miss out on a great experience if they want to. It's their loss. Life's pretty shallow if your roots only go back to Halo.

This is simply a place for people who are frustrated to vent. Some folks have a really hard time accepting that there are 5 million more Wii consoles in Japanese homes than PS3 consoles. So when the PS3 outsells the Wii for a month or two they declare some sort of victory and come out to crow about it.

Statistically the PS3 and Wii are selling at approximately the same level. But it's more fun to leave reality out of the equation.

Sony has a long way to go before anyone can say the Wii has been thrown over in Japan or anywhere. There's a lot of ground to be made up.

The only people who uttered the word "doomed" were the idiots at N4G who actually believe that there is some sort of war going on. Seems to me that there has been plenty of room in the market for everyone.
