That's some wishful thinking (did I just say that?!), but then they would essentially have to rebuild the game from scratch in a totally new and untapped engine to recreate the BIGGEST trilogy of the past generation. That would cost them a heck of a lot more than a straight up remaster.
And for those who want to play the game on PS4/XB1? Not everyone has a PC to play games on or even wants to get one.
@creatchee That's not entirely true. Often the devs get smaller teams to handle remasters while the vast majority of the team continues to work on bigger projects. Mass Effect 3 on Wii U was outsourced to another developer for example.
Actually it's more like 100 hours if you count the DLC that's included.
Xbox One exclusives most likely. Generally that's how people chose their preferred platform. Halo is a pretty big franchise and Gears of War has some odd staying power. Don't get me wrong, I'm more of an InFamous and Uncharted guy. I'm just saying not everyone thinks the same way, even when it comes to console specs.
^This. I would consider saving up for the system (after I get the PS4 of course) if it was at least $100 cheaper. I don't much care for the Kinect so I would hope that they would take that out to reduce the price.
Why $299.99? If they take out the Kinect and drop the price by $100 then that would be more than enough to be competitive. If they dropped the price so drastically, Microsoft would probably lose a lot more money on the system than even before.
To be fair, if we're going to talk about features at launch, PS4 didn't have HDMI game capture at launch and people had to wait until around now to get the update to remove the restriction.
Sony's camera is an optional device and doesn't need to be widely sold. Xbox One should have made the Kinect optional since the novelty of the original Kinect wore off only after a year or two on the market.
^This. I really want a 32GB memory card for mine when I get the system, but it costs almost half of the system. That's completely insane pricing. :/
In the UK the Vita generally sells close to the same numbers as the Wii U unfortunately. Vita deserves as much pushing in western markets as eastern. I really hope they get more big franchises on the platform. :(
Sony's western push for Vita is very strange to say the least. In Japan it's getting a bunch of games, some of which are even being localized, but they are not pushing for western games at all it seems. Granted Borderlands 2 is getting ported, but I don't think that will make a huge impact in the end since it's such an old game.
@Farsendor1 I think established franchise can and should be used to help people notice the Vita and make it sell more. Once that happens, taking a risk on a new IP is more acceptable. Titanfall is a rare instance where a game has the kind of appeal to sell on a new console, but Vita needs a bigger push so using new entries in fan favorite franchises might be the answer.
@Lukas Hear, hear. People who just let pure negativity seep into anything they don't enjoy just don't have much consideration for others and/or just like inciting arguments. It's totally fine to be critical, but there's a fine line between criticism and blind hatred.
90 seconds is a bit of overkill, I think. When I played the game, I never spent that much time prepping for the next round. I think a happy medium of 45-60 seconds would be better.
That probably bodes better for the sequel than the first game. If they port the first game to PS3/4 I wouldn't expect to see those versions until mid-late next year at the earliest and by then the sequel will probably have been made.
@Hicken Actually to be perfectly honest, I just think it's silly how people are constantly trying to downplay Titanfall's success on the grounds that it's a game they don't like. Not liking it is fine, but why even kid yourself into thinking it hasn't been selling well? I think you're exaggerating Septic's defense of the game completely and not just with your sarcasm.
@DJMarty People said that when the game launched. :/ Can we not just acknowledge that Titanfall is a very successful game?
Not what I would call newsworthy but, dang. I must admit that's stylish for a loading screen.
Well there's a difference there, Xbox DRM was bad for the entire industry, whereas remasters are accessible for a small number of gamers who may want to upgrade or just have not yet experienced the game before.
