The game is actually a lot of fun to play, I think. Its speed and vertical gameplay is not something you see in a lot of AAA fast paced shooters these days. Also Titanfall has been selling pretty well, especially for a new IP. So it's quite obviously not dead.

That's just about the size of it. I wouldn't expect the first game to ever reach the Playstation, but the sequel is kind of a given at this point.

Releasing future installments on PS4 is a given considering how much more EA will make. Microsoft lost that bet when the Titanfall license reverted to EA.

@HeWhoWalks

Well you said to point out who said no one wanted the game on PS4, and annus pointed out that some people wrote it off as a CoD clone, most likely because it was exclusive to Xbox One and not from having actually played it.

Yeah, I raised an eyebrow at that statement as well. 3DS is lowest selling? I thought it was selling well. A hell of a lot more than VB, that's for sure.

Try not to mind it Legion. I get random disagrees a lot too. :P

Didn't Aonuma say himself it would be at E3?

4412d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah Iwata has under delivered for sure. Obviously the launch was botched and Nintendo's been slow with a lot of their promises. But slow progress is better than no progress and I'm at least looking forward to Mario Kart, Smash and Bayonetta. Crossing my fingers at some nice announcements for E3 though. At this point they can't afford not to have a good show, I think.

But what about Mass Effect? You could have sex in multiple installments and it all depended on you building a relationship with a character to see it happen. In that sense it can be used as a strong plot device. Not saying it HAS to be there, but it can be used for good storytelling.

Dragon's Crown isn't even all that bad. It massively sexualizes the male and female characters quite a bit. Content like that is very inclusive, so it's hard to see why anyone would be outright upset with it. It's obviously not meant for small children, but then movies cross that line all of the time. We should more open to this kind of content, but of course I wouldn't want it to dominate the industry either.

I don't know. Video game nudity kind of weirds me out. It's like looking at a mannequin that's trying to convince me it's sexy. That being said I don't mind people doing that in games because it's a creative medium. More people should be encouraged to do what they want with their characters, provided it's not hateful or in bad taste.

@kayoss I'm pretty sure he understands that and was saying we should be open-minded about what plot devices are used in the game industry. And I agree, I would like to see more heavy social topics tackled in video games. I've even played RPGs that deal with the religion vs. science debate. So we shouldn't we embrace sex as a potential plot device? There are great films that do have sex and great ones that don't. Gaming can have both as well.

God of War had the sex mini-games I guess. I like having sexuality as a plot device when you used well, and a lot of story driven games are able to do it well. But as a gameplay device? Not so sure myself. Never even thought about how that could work.

"And as far as i'm concerned, i'm a damn 6-foot grave filled to the BRIM with sunshine ;)"

Okay, this made me laugh lol. Fair enough, I don't know much about QoL nor do I claim to. I was just refuting that there is just as much to be positive about as it can be negative. For all we know, Nintendo's QoL approach could make them even more money to compete with better hardware. Or it could lose them more money. Who knows?

People believe the low sales constitute abandoning the platform. Which I completely disagree with. This is not the Virtual Boy and there are around 6 million people playing Wii Us last I heard. Those people are going to buy Nintendo software, so why wouldn't they support Wii U for the generation and make money that way? GCN didn't sell a lot at all, but they still made money from the hardware and the software.

Oh man, what I wouldn't give to know what the heck Miyamoto's been working on. I hope it's large scale and fresh for Nintendo and the industry as a whole. And Zelda? Well that's just something that excites me more for my future Wii U purchase. :)

I agree. Nintendo needs to reach all audiences and not just their own dedicated fanbase.

4412d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

You're 100% right Metallox. Nintendo bringing a new console would tarnish consumer trust. How would people trust them to support another console after Wii U? It would just be an embarrassment. The thing is if they put exciting content on Wii U it will probably sell a little more over time. Most likely they will never meet the same numbers as the competition, but they can at least make money by selling software like they did with the low selling GCN.

4412d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Not to mention Nintendo definitely recognizes the market confusion between Wii and Wii U. If they introduce yet ANOTHER console into the mix, it will just confuse people even further. Best choice would be to ride out the generation for as long as possible, support the console with software and make what money they can that way, same as the GCN. Then rethink their hardware focus for the next console generation.
