Wow, did someone really say that? That is incredibly depressing. Oh well. Some of us still remember how to have fun and enjoy things and not just appreciate how pretty they are.

Eww. You can't compare those two, Other M Samus was a total wimp with PTSD and daddy issues. 2013 Lara Croft was a newbie who had to toughen up in order to survive. Very big difference.

It's a poll. It shows that there are people (who are not like you) who play games differently. It's not trying to say all gamers are like that, it just shows a lot of the gamers that went to GDC don't really finish their games. Take a cheel peel.

That's a strange thing to say. You're saying that if CoD copied Titanfall's ideas then Titanfall would be the clone? Just because Titanfall appeals to the same crowd doesn't mean it's cloning CoD. That's like saying Rayman Legends is ripping off New Super Mario Bros. because it's a coop platformer.

Nintendo brought Xenoblade only. XSEED brought over The Last Story and Pandora's Tower. Love Nintendo, but Nintendo really doesn't listen to their fans as often as they should.
To be fair, a lot of Metroid fans don't like Other M. Besides that there was Metroid Prime Trilogy which was an awesome collection.

The thing is "gimmick" isn't even inherently a bad thing. It's just a label for something that is used as a selling point for game. A cool new innovation can also serve as a gimmick for a game and help it sell which isn't even bad.
When people describe something as "gimmicky" they even mean to use the phrase "tacked on," like the motion controls for a number of shovelware Wii/PS Move games.
