"Not sure if trolling or just stupid..."
You haven't played the Wii U. You haven't held that controller in your hand and damn near every preview had something positive to say about it. Go and play it first before you judge. I had the good sense to try out the Vita before deciding to wait for a price drop.
I'd like to play it before I judge.
Hardly. Gaming is now more prevalent than ever. It's not going anywhere.
The only real con so far is that a developer that badly ported Oddworld games to Steam is not interested in working with them and that they intend to input restrictions that potentially prevent companies for charging for on disc DLC. Which aren't even real negatives, just minor inconveniences for people who aren't even gamers.
So far the NN sounds incredibly promising. I won't hold my breath, but I'm certainly hopeful for something sweet. Now Nintendo has to d...
@Knushwood Butt
Quantity vs. Quality once it comes to that point. I'll take Skyward Sword over Heroes on the Move.
That's a pretty interesting way of looking at it. And I certainly see your point. Wonder if Microsoft is willing to lose out on the massive core base they had prior to the Kinect.
Both the Wii U and the 3DS are expected to run off of the Nintendo Network at some point together; and by that time this new installment is sure to be completed. Cross compatibility is non-essential in my eyes; but it would be quite nice.
If it is, I reckon it won't have BS ads on it.
Oy, I'm getting tired of these speculative articles. Unless there is actual information, let's not approve these.
I'm not getting anything about the Wii U being underpowered from this. Nintendo's merely saying it's not brute force in terms of performance. Given that rumors suggest it's only 20% weaker than the NextBox, I can totally buy that (figuratively and physically).
And either way, we already know the graphics will look amazing regardless of the hardware's actual power structure.
Uh... Pikmin? He made that just barely a decade ago.
@Kran
That had nothing to do with the article at all. He said not all games require amazing graphics. Simply rendered games like the Mii-centric games. How about you read the article and stop taking the headline out of context?
Muramasa Demon blade, a Wii exclusive heavily Japanese-centric title, sold best in the US than any other region.
That may change in due time. Microsoft had indie devs before, but look at what happened with Team Meat. Not to mention that Microsoft is currently gunning for the casual gamer and more than likely may make the same mistakes Nintendo made when they gave us the Wii.
@That_Whore
Are you kidding me? Nintendo outright licensed Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube AND made a multi-game deal with Capcom with every previous game in the franchise, including the REmake.
Uh, did you read the article? He said some games, not all. Why would you want photo-realism in a game like Rhythm Heaven?
He's saying some, not all. Can we not be that close-minded? It's that kind of thinking that gave the world Bomberman Act Zero.
More than likely we'll know more about that in the form of an official announcement. Supposedly final dev kits were sent out, but who knows what the final product will be.
I doubt they're selling it for $400. A lot of the predictions have been somewhere along the "$300-$350" range. Of course they (and myself) could be wrong.
The PS2 was significantly weaker than its competition. The NES was weaker than the Genesis. What's your point? No matter what, we already know it's stronger than the current hardware on the market right now.
