Neither Metroid Prime Trilogy nor Donkey Kong Country Returns were like that at all. They all were designed very well with a clear focus on what those respective franchises amazing.
If anyone who isn't Nintendo can do a great job on a Zelda game, it's Retro-Fucking-Studios.
Isn't that like asking a Disney animator to direct a horror/slasher flick?
Smash Bros.' online 'sorta' works. It's extremely laggy.
If you want decent online Wii games, try Mario Kart Wii, Mario Strikers Charged and Monster Hunter 3.
@LevelHead
Motion control is a norm now because of Nintendo. Nintendo always gives us what we think is cool, even if we don't really know we want it.
Neat video. Looks like a lot of effort went into that trailer. Hopefully the game will have an equal level of production value.
It was slightly confusing at first but they've made some nice adjustments to it to make things easier for the general consumer. "Want a Mario game? Here's the Mario section. Want apps? We got those too. How about some 3D-specific games? Check 'em out!" Stuff like that.
It would be nice to have the option (and it would shut a few people up) but it's largely unnecessary. Your second hand is using the stylus most of the time anyway.
@FriedGoat
Your personal preference has little to do with the argument. Those games are good to a lot of people even if they are not to you. This is not an argument about getting you to enjoy the system, this is why the 3DS will ultimately be a success and why it is not a bad handheld to own.
The argument you are generating is personal preference, nothing more. If you don't enjoy it, I'm sure you can sell it to someone else who will be happier with it...
Metroid Prime is rated T.
Nintendo licensed Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube and Wii.
HD Mother. Remake or sequel. Sold. No.... MEGAsold.
@Genecakypse?
Really? Microsoft and Sony don't develop their own games, you know. They have outlets to aid in production (Microsoft Game Studios for example). But their biggest franchises are often developed by someone other than MS or Sony.
For example...
Halo - Bungie/343 Industries
Gears of War - Epic Games
Resistance - Insomniac
Uncharted - Naughty Dog
Nintendo outright develops Mario ...
That's because they had a number of IPs listed for Japan only. No way in hell that Captain Rainbow could get localized. Not unless Nintendo decided to outright an M rated game that wasn't outsourced.
"...back then the 360 was filled mostly with teens and kids who just wanted to shoot stuff.
Rare don't make those sorts of games."
Goldeneye 64, Perfect Dark and the FPS mode in Banjo-Tooie?
I think you've delivered one of the best answers. There's no one sole reason for Rare's downfall, but many outlets (Microsoft, Rare employees leaving) played their part in it.
Buy a Wii U (assuming this used-game block is confirmed); that console will be HD, marketed towards a core audience and won't block used games.
As far as we know at least. Then again, Nintendo is not know for supporting crap like that. Online passes and on-disc DLC for example.
Perfectly wasted bubble. Shame.
But, but, but... he's in Street Fighter x Tekken! o.o
If the Wii U was set to come out and this were 1990, you'd still see it as a failure.
As much as I'm largely confident that Retro could totally do it, I agree. I would prefer them to work on any of those franchises as well.
