For what it's worth, should you decide to get a Wii U, you'll be able to try any core Wii games you might have missed out on.
Unlike the competition, Nintendo doesn't have a history of pissing on backwards compatibility.
E3 couldn't come sooner; if only to finally find out what those projects will be.
Chase Mii (one of the Wii U demos) is very much like Pac-Man Vs. That game was THE SHIT back in the day. More multiplayer games like that and I think just about any gamer will find something to enjoy.
I've thought about that before, but Link and Samus would look completely out of place.
And Capt. Falcon would be guaranteed victory. Every fucking race...
The U pad has a gyro sensor. I reckon you could play using that as a wheel.
Map? Rear view mirror? Just sayin'.
Every game prompts exploration. What I think you're asking for is a more open world like Wind Waker. The thing is all of the Zelda games offer some amount of control. Some games have more than others.
You've missed out on a lot.
Really. I loved Skyward Sword and I find it to be just as charming (and more importantly fun) as OoT.
All of the Zelda games are amazing. I feel people allow themselves to get too hung up on previous experiences to allow the series to really evolve.
Why would I need a DVD player in the Wii U when I can buy one for less than $50 at a general store? Besides, it'll probably play Netflix. The Wii and the 3DS have that.
I hear ya. Microsoft is awfully focused on Kinect and playing cable television off of the 360.
3DS has been fairly successful in terms of multimedia. It has Netflix and now Hulu Plus. Throw in YouTube support and they're pretty much golden.
I don't see why there should be doubts for the Wii U in this regard.
Not to be a stiff, but why is this appearing in the Wii U section...?
I would like to correct a few things in the article. The GCN and Wii did have some third party support (some killer stuff too).
GCN had Resident Evil 4 (at least for a year) and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II and III while the Wii had No More Heroes and House of the Dead: Overkill.
It just wasn't large enough to attract core gamers. And who could blame them? It took ages for decent core games to come out and I believe Nintendo wants to avoid that for the Wi...
Me. I also own a 360, PS3, PS2, 3DS and a PC. All accumulated over the years.
@hellzsupernova
Yeah, but their profits were calculated at about 7 billion. Meanwhile Sony's financial loss was well over 2 billion. I heard no one freaking out over that.
There's no way in hell Nintendo is even close to falling out of the console race. Believing otherwise is hardly realistic.
Repeat games? If you're seriously going to sit there and tell me that Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy are one in the same or make the same accusation with Wind Waker and Twilight Princess then I will kindly ask you to GTFO.
Use of the same franchise over the years is not re-releasing and it never has been, particularly when each new installment provides new innovations and freshens the experience with them (unlike the current lineup of blockbuster military shooters). Nintendo h...
Well, it's great to know that every opinion will be maturely appreciated for their sincerity.

I don't suppose IGN provided an estimate for the price of the controller?
You can't know that for sure lol. However I certainly hope so. I've found that the modern RE games tend to be better on Nintendo platforms. RE4, Chronicles and Revelations for examples.
