No, because scrutinizing everyone is what the media does. And unfortunately, chumps like us buy into it. All of the negativity toward Nintendo and their fans expressed in these comments is proof enough.
You took the words right out of my mouth. Star Fox doesn't need to be like Mass Effect because it's already STAR FOX! There's no need to start copying each other.
The PS2 generation was plagued with WWII themed games on consoles and computers. It took us forever to get out of that trend. Why go back? Instead, ask for innovation.
You referred to it as "cheap" and proceeded to suggest that knock-off products in China are of higher quality.
Either way, my point still stands. We should play it before we judge it.
Mario Kart 7 and the 3DS Resident Evil games also utilized online multiplayer quite well (save for the lack of voice chat). Here's hoping that this next step is a big one.
Well, truth be told we won't know if it's amazing until we play it, but it looks extremely promising. I've got my copy pre-ordered and I'm looking forward to the final release.
I guess at this point, all that's left is glasses free 3D to compete directly with the 3DS.
Personally I think Sony should focus on tackling Apple though.
Given Sony's tight relationship with Disney, you'd think that such issues would never arise. What does that mean for future Kingdom Hearts games?
People felt the 3DS was overpriced at $250. Nowadays many of the reasons why they felt that way are nonexistent.
I feel the Vita is well-oiled machine and worth the money. It's the price of everything else that bothers me. Why should I have to pay $60+ for a decently sized memory card for a platform that supports downloads for full retail games and Network titles?
At least the 3DS allows me to get my own SD cards; and the 32GB one can be purchased for les...
First of all, single touch is not confirmed. As for HD, so what? The 3DS has a small non-HD screen and it still looks quite nice with games like Mario Kart 7 and Metal Gear Solid 3D.
Let's not assume it's low quality until we do this crazy thing called trying it out for ourselves.
I'd like to ask the same question for Birth by Sleep and the Metal Gear Portable games.
Not entirely. I'd rather RE6 get ported than this game.
...you messing with us Colwyn?
I'll admit that I'm a bigger fan of Nintendo than any other company out there. But I have very little hatred (or criticism) for the competition. I own every major and modern dedicated gaming console in the industry and I intend to play both Wii U and at least one of the upcoming next gen console from Sony/Microsoft.
I defended Sony during the PSN hack attack and I criticized Microsoft for taking so goddamn long to address the RRoD issue. I criticized Nintendo for not ...
I think it's because of the impression Nintendo left at E3. My problem is it's all too speculative. Let's wait and see what the final product is before we judge, eh?
I usually like Pachter (yeah, I know. Crazy right?) but his rants on Nintendo and the Wii U are both frustrating and befuddling.
Agreed. I reckon if they do a classic style controller for the Wii U it will have control sticks. Personally I hope it's more like the Gamecube than the Classic Controller for the Wii.
From a financial standpoint, the franchise really is in no need of saving. The games sell quite well, the TV show and animated movies are still running and the merchandise is always selling.
I can understand why people see otherwise, but saying the franchise needs saving seems a little paranoid.
Also, Pokemon for consoles = MMO. IMO.
"Problem is, Nintendo don't make products for people in their 20's who still care about gaming."
That's why Nintendo published Resident Evil 4 and Geist, right?
If you're not into Nintendo games anymore, that's fine. Sometimes people grow out of certain things. But not being developed for adults does not mean a game isn't fun. I know more grown ups who played Mario Galaxy than kids and I know more kids who play Call of Duty t...
Some people believe that the financial loss and Nintendo now selling 3DS' at a loss (granted a tiny one compared to most) somehow it dooms them out of the hardware race or even bankrupting them.
I feel it's more or less a bunch of trolls trying to psych out fans of Nintendo.
Why? It already has HDD support, and unlike the competition, Nintendo may actually allow users to use their computer HDDs similarly to how they allow us to use our own SD cards in the 3DS.
