Good idea posting the actual quote. I don't think most of the people posting here really read what he had to say.
I think the idea here is that R&C will sell consoles, not the other way around. Insomniac will be getting a nice chunk of change from Sony either way. So long as it helps get a few more PS3's into peoples hands, it's done its job.
I went and bought crappy Assassin's Creed because I had some money burning a hole in my pocket. Wish I would have waited for this one instead. Creed's sort of growing on me, but it's definitely a huge let down.
Sounds sketchy to me. I had the information board off since it came out and my game managed to freeze up pretty good on me earlier today. It did that weird one where Altair freezes, but you can still move the camera around him. Only had the one problem so far though...
Lol. Sorry Pete, looks like a couple of people disagree with you. (?) I was kind of wondering the same thing though.
She had it coming because she's an attractive woman in the public eye? Yup...by being born attractive and choosing such a public career, game design, she was just begging for someone to draw pictures of her getting creamed on by some acne ridden teenage losers.
They aren't going to charge for the mods. If I sit down and make an Unreal mod and upload it to my website or get it hosted at Planet Unreal or something, people can then download said mod, put it on a thumb drive and move it to their PS3. How then is it possible to charge for the mods? I mean if Epic did try to charge for mods, they would presumably need to share the profits with whoever made the mod in the first place.
Thousands upon thousands of mods will be released, some large, so...
Yeah, seriously eh? How this turned into a "my console is better than yours" argument is beyond me.
No planes? That blows. I trust Rockstar knows what they're doing...hopefully.
Ha ha. That was funny. You changed the "Play" in Playstation to "Late". Because of all the delays right? Funny. I never would have thought of that. Seriously. Good one. I mean it. For reals.
I don't mind so much. A good game's a good game, even if you pick up a used copy 6 months after it's released. Just think of all the great releases you'll be able to pick up during the inevitable summer slowdown at bargain bin prices. I finally picked up Oblivion last month for $30. Sure it's been out for a while, but it's new to me. I just hope they do a good port. Why Valve chose EA is beyond me.
Yikes. Ever heard of sarcasm kid? See you said you were going to boycott Epic, so then I was all like...actually never mind, if you didn't get it already, you're not likely to. Flame off.
Hmmm...sounds to me like he's saying that they're just that much more familiar with their new tech having already used it for Gears. Makes sense. Find me the spot where it says 360 owners are paying the bills for PS3 UT3. Ass.
So I guess now that Epic is done working on UT3 and they're ready to start on Gears 2 we can safely say that 360 owners owe any and all enhancements in Gears 2 to Sony. Right? I mean I'm sure Epic will be applying a few new tricks that they've learned developing ...
First of all, you're not making any sense at all. 360 owners didn't pay for PS3 UT3 by buying Gears of War. If Epic didn't think they'd make their money back and maybe a little profit on top of that, we wouldn't have UT3 on the PS3. They're not in the business of making Sony fans happy, they're in the business of...well...business. Think about it.
Second of all, Epic makes waaaayyy more money licensing the Unreal engine to other devs than they did off Gears. They make more that way tha...
Relax. They're including an unmodified version as well. Rebalanced mode is just for when you're playing with your girlfriend/kids.
I don't get all the negativity here. Epic takes advantage of one of the chief benefits of developing on a PS3 and people are talking trash about it? What the hell?
If you have space to spare and want to reduce load times, use the hard drive. If you don't have the space, stream from the disc. What's the problem here?
Personally I think it's great. Load times, even short ones, can be a real pain in the ass, especially in a fast paced game like UT3. Why shouldn't they give you the ...
If this is real then DA Goliath is a douche-bag. I'm done with this story.
Mine froze up a few times after the update. Also, the XMB would freeze up for like 45 seconds sometimes when loading games, etc, but then it would come back to life. I disabled that info bar last night and it doesn't seem to be having problems anymore...here's hoping. It's a 60 gig btw.
Remember when firmware 1.92 started causing issues with network connections? They really need to be testing these updates more thoroughly before releasing them.
Dreamcast was the most powerful system for around a year, the the PS2 came out. I loved my Dreamcast, but getting out of the gates early and trying to build up a big install base just means you're going to end up with the least powerful system when the other guy launches next year. That bit Sega in the ass twice and basically put them out of business in the end.
Hope this fixes Creed. Mine just froze up for the 4th or 5th time. I was about 3/4 of the way through the last assassination at the time. I don't want to spoil anything, but it's kind of a pain in the ass to get to the guy, then you have to watch a long cut scene...definitely not looking forward to repeating it.
