Right on Mighty_douche. People seem to forget that games are actually cheaper these days. My parents bought me Toejam & Earl for the Genesis back in the day...for $113.00!! I still remember the exact price to this day because it was so bloody ridiculous. The worst part is that game probably cost around...oh...say $50000 to make. Used games were harder to find back then too.
The old article was about 8 valid reasons why PSP *could* overtake the DS. This one is just 8 valid reasons why it probably won't. Guess they're just trying to tell both sides of the story. Final verdict? There are some good handhelds on the market atm.
You seem to know a lot about the site...considering you hate it so much.
I think I'll pick this one up when I spot it at a pawn shop for half price or something. The game looks okay, but it's not getting my $60 with UT3 and Orange Box around the corner.
Having a hacked system doesn't necessarily have to be all about pirating games. If you softmod an original xbox, you can setup a kick ass media center. There are tools out there to make it even better than a factory 360 as a media center. Not to mention you can run SNES, Neo-Geo, Genesis and a ton of other emulators on it. When there's finally a decent softmod procedure available for the PS3 through the "install other OS" option, intend to take advantage of it, but not because I wa...
It probably won't surpass the DS, but it's at least providing some good solid competition. It's never a good thing for a company, even Nintendo, to have a monopoly in any market place. Two popular handhelds in the market means better games for consumers and lower prices for all. I've actually never owned a handheld, but I'm considering getting one soon. It's nice to have more than one decent choice on the market. So...both are doing very well...who cares who "wins" the so called war...
That sucks for you dude, but take it easy. I'm sure your console is still under warranty. Just send it off to get fixed. Remember to dust it off first :/ Failure rate on PS3's is pretty good so far. I'm sure they'll fix it up for free and you're not likely to have any problems again. But hey, if you have the cash around for a 360, get one of those too. Enjoy the best of both worlds.
That's to bad about the game. I really enjoyed the one on the PC a few years back. AVP the movie was god awful though. I'm one of those sci-fi geeks who can overlook some issues here and there. I liked Terminator: 3. I didn't really mind Episode 1, Episode 2 was alright and I really liked Episode 3. Hell I even liked Alien 4...the point being I'm not hard to please. AVP was the god damn worst piece of crap movie I've ever seen. So it's not entirely surprising that this game based on the seque...
It's not even a Sony promotion. This is a best buy thing. And I'd hardly call it a scam in any case. Sony put Bluray in the PS3 to help boost their format. Now Best Buy is giving away an old Bluray movie with the PS3 to help move some hardware. Sounds to me like Sony's idea of using the PS3 to pimp Bluray is working exactly like they planned. So suddenly good marketing=scam in the eyes of some HD-DVD fan blog? Nice.
And who the hell starts a f*cking blog about their favorite HD format ...
GOW3 is absolutely why I bought my PS3. I got a 60gig back when they cost $600 here in Canada. This game better be worth it. And if they insist on having those Pegasus levels again they better not suck this time. Can't wait.
Thanks romaink. I'm not a 360 owners yet, so I really had no idea what this story was saying. If DivX is supported through the regular dashboard, then that's plenty of reason to be excited. I might have to pick one up when the GPU goes 65nm so I can rock the PS360 with DivX support on both. Awesome!
As much as it pains me to say this, Lawman is right. That was the 360 version. There was a blue "X" button and a green "A" button on the screen during the video.
worst.console war.ever.
I'm all for a little competition, but it's been a rough year for PS3 owners. Glad to see things looking up. I honesty would have picked up a 360 if MS could have gotten their sh*t together and fixed the RROD problem. There were times when I regretted having picked up the PS3, but these past 2 or 3 months have been great.
Still waiting for the RROD issue to go away so I can get both consoles (sorry wii) and enjoy the best of both worlds.
It's nice to see Rein talking so positively about the PS3. With the sheer volume of games being developed on UE3 these days, he's definitely a guy you want in your corner. That said, I expect he'll have plenty of good things to say about the 360 when the next Epic game comes out. Be it UT3 or Gears 2. At least he's standing behind his products.
So what does that mean? I'm not really familiar with the 360 interface. Will it be able to play DivX files off the HD? Streaming? Both?
What the hell? Do we have an N4G bot or does someone just have to much time on his hands? Boo!
Well it will never be possible to make a list everyone agrees with. I would have considered Pong for #1 because it established video games as a viable entertainment form. Mario did a lot for gaming, but I suspect some other game would have filled the void if Mario never came around. Gaming at home was already well established with the Atari 2600 before Mario came along. Still the little guy has lasting appeal and Mario 1 still holds up after all these years. Their choice was a bit "safe&...
Good for you I suppose. Really, though, what does any of that have to do with this story?
On a more related note, am I the only one that thinks this is a really weird story? This guy likes the Godfather. He likes Bioware. He thinks Bioware should make a Godfather game...k...
I mean I like Insomniac and I like Evil Dead. That doesn't mean I'm going to write an article about how Insomniac should take over the much maligned Evil Dead video game series. It just seems...
@solidt12: I'm pretty sure that was actually Marcus from Gears in the last pic, not someone from Unreal. Then again, the art design is kind of the same in Gears and Unreal so I could be wrong.
I hate to sh*t on a perfectly reasonable news story, but is anyone really surprised about this? Activision isn't abandoning 3 of it's most successful franchises. Marvel is still licensing it's characters for video games and Bizarre is working on a new racing title. Duh. Tell me something I didn't know.
Oh and to all the people who said Treyarch ruined COD:3, I totally agree. Jesus. I never played the xbox version, but I played the PS3 version and it was easily the worst PS3 gam...
