What's to understand? It says right on the label in big letters, "Early Children, Everyone, Teen, etc". If these people can't figure out that a label stating "Mature 17+" probably isn't suitable for their kids they shouldn't be allowed to have kids. This is the kind of stupid crap that gives assholes like J.T. ammo in their stupid war on gaming. Parents who are too lazy to take a fraction of a second out of their day and actually read the rating on a game. If these people ...

Agreed. It sucks for this guy. On the other hand it was really unprofessional of him to go and publicly bash his own game and his employer like that. After Midway just invested millions in making Blacksite and paid this guys salary for years. Not cool on his part.
Hopefully he can find himself another job after that stunt. Hopefully Midway learns a lesson from all this too.

Ideally the wii would have nothing but exclusives. When they try to make a wii version of your typical PS3/360 game it usually ends up playing like ass. Remember Ultimate Alliance? Wii games need to be built from the ground up for the wii. Devs are starting to realize this so the wii will always have the most exclusives. You can easily get away with putting out pretty much the same game on the 360 and PS3 and get a much bigger return for your efforts.

Now I'm going to go stand ...

I had a feeling Midway wouldn't appreciate him sh*t talking his newest game so soon after it was released. Maybe Jaffe will give him a job...

I just logged my 100th hour yesterday on Oblivion and I'm not even close to being finished doing everything. I'll hold off on Shivering Isles for now. Definitely going to get it eventually, though.

Absolutely. I have a card, but I can't get PSN to accept it. We even tried creating new accounts with with the exact billing addresses on a few different credit cards and it won't work. I'd drop $50 in a day, easily, if they came out with PSN cards in the US/Canada.

Why are you even reading this story? It's not like PS3 owners give a damn what gets released on "Live". Why should you care about shivering isles hitting PSN? Douche.

How do they miss something like that in testing? I mean you would think they would have at least played the game before they started charging people $10.00 for it.

The first Burnout game I ever played was Dominator on Xbox and I loved it. Of course I've played Revenge since then and it is better. If they can manage to really nail the "feel" of a Burnout game, which the guy did mention in the article, then I'll be happy.

If we're comparing MGS3 to MGS4, why bring R&C into it?

Anyway, the games library on the PS3 by the time MGS4 hits will still be way, way, way smaller than the PS2 had at the time of MGS3's release. I'm not trying to say it will definitely sell 4 million copies or that it will sell 1 million on the first day. My point is that it doesn't make sense to estimate sales potential for a new game on the PS3 by looking at the attach rate of an old game on the PS2. A lot has changed...

@karlostomy: That's flawed logic. PS2 had literally thousands of games out by the time MGS: 3 hit the market. How many PS3 owners have Resistance I wonder? or rather, what percentage of PS3 owners have Resistance? We know it sold over a million copies. We know that there are only a few million PS3's in the world right now. So around 15% of PS3 owners must have that game. Attach rates for individual games will be really high on the PS3 until it's been out for a few years and there's a bigger l...

I suppose they could be more confident, but launching a new FPS franchise on the 360 so soon after Halo 3 came out is like premiering a movie next to Star Wars 7. You know you're going to get stomped. Why not wait? I'm not even a Halo fan, but you can't deny the power Bungie wields with that franchise. If it's even their franchise anymore...

It's so true. I'm a PS3 owner and I love my system, but some of Sony's internal devs go a little overboard when they're gushing about the power if the system. It's more or less the same as the 360...we all know it is...get over it guys. I almost wish one system was clearly more powerful than the other like back in the xbox/ps2 days. Fanboys seemed to be a lot less rabid back then.

@Elite_Ghost: I'm pretty sure TS: 4 is multi-plat. All the previous TS games were...except for 1 maybe. Anyway, TS: 2 is my favorite console shooter of all time, but I doubt MS would be "screwed" if the didn't get TS: 4. I just hope it's better than TS: 3. That game ramped the difficulty waaaay down. My friend and I beat it on hard in like a day. TS:2 on hard mode was insane.

It might get delayed again, but I think Sony would have thought long and hard about the release date after the first delay. They already missed the Christmas window, so why would they bother issuing an unrealistic release date at this point? I think they're just playing it smart and not letting the game get too much hype for its own good. Also, they want to push the games that are out now for the holiday season. We should start seeing a real Killzone media blitz after Dec. 25.

@aaquib5: Public betas have little to do with bug squashing anymore. They've become more of a marketing gimmick than anything. Opening a buggy ass product to public scrutiny would just screw Sony down the line when all the non-hardcore gamers who participated in the first beta remember what a buggy mess it was. Most people who would download and play a public beta through PSN don't even know what "beta" means.

Private beta is for real bug squashing, public beta is for...

I envy all the catching up you get to do. FF7 is one of the best in the series and it will play fine on a PS2/PS3. You can still get copies at most decent hobby shops. You should see if you can't get FF6, also known as FF3, on an emulator if you don't have an old SNES kicking around. It's definitely still worth playing. The genius of the series, though, is that it's a totally different world/story in every iteration so you really don't need to play any of the older ones to "get it" ...

Lol. Everyone has a different favorite. I liked 7 best. 10 and 6 were pretty cool as well. Someone on here even mentioned 9 I think. The fact that we're even debating which is the best and coming up with multiple different answers is a testament to the quality of the whole series. FF13 is going to rock.

@Gen16Snes: Why you were expecting to get flamed for saying you liked FF6 I'll never understand. Everyone loves that game.

It sucks that there are frame issues in Ep. 2, but I suspect 1up were exaggerating when they called it unplayable. IGN called Assassin's Creed "nearly unplayable" due to frame rate issues and that was a complete load of crap. I think game journalists are looking a little to hard for something to complain about with most titles lately.

Agreed...but are there 5 million of us yet? Lol. Kidding. Killzone 2 is definitely primed to kick some major arse when it drops, though. Just not 5 mil. in a day.
Killzone 1 wasn't GREAT, but it held my attention until the end at least. Liberation was one of the first great PSP games. I think Guerilla will have really hit their stride by the time Killzone 2 comes out. And you just know they've got LOTS of help from Sony on this one.
