Another Vancouver games studio I see. Canada's taking over folks...it's just a matter of time. Soon we'll be rushing the borders in our dog sleds, whipping snowballs at anything that moves, drunk as hell off real beer, not that American "light" crap. We'll fund our armies through the sales of kick @ss Canadian video games like Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed. Man it's gonna be sweet. ;-)

Actually, that's a good point about the original NES. Those were kind of unreliable too...forgot about that. Still, it was nowhere near the 360 failure rate and you could usually get 'em going again by blowing on the cartridges...I'll never understand why.

That's great news for Bioshock, but I honestly thought it would have sold more than that by now. I mean considering some of the crap games that sell a million in their first week.

@dhammalama: Oh hell yes. That's one of the main reasons why UT3 for the PS3 was so important. Like the game or not, it's absolutely crucial nowadays for a console to work well with UE3. One of the reasons the 360 runs UE3 games so well is because Epic developed Gears on it in the first year and optimized the hell out of their engine for the 360. All of those optimizations were then added to the build they license out to other devs. Hopefully now that Epic has done the same with the PS3, the ...

These suckers are still prone to failure. I wish MS would get off their @sses and really fix the issue because I'd love to have a nice new 360 sitting next to my PS3. I'm just not about to drop several hundred dollars on a defective console, good games or no.

The only console I ever had fail on me was an old Sega Master System. It stopped powering up after like 10 years. Failure rate on 360's is completely unacceptable.

UT3 is great fun. Sometimes 1up are so off in their reviews...I just don't get it. 6/10 is a really bad score. If all they're complaining about is lack of revolutionary changes to the genre, then this seems a little harsh.

@3.1: Exactly. People have been streaming DivX/XviD files for months now using Tversity. Windows Media Player sucks anyway, so who cares if you can stream XviD files with it? The best part of this update is being able to copy DivX/XviD files to the PS3 hard drive. When I first read XviD didn't work I was kind of bummed, but the only thing that's broken is streaming through WMP. Big deal. I say screw Windows. Run Linux or if you really want to get creative, try getting Leopard on a PC.

I think a third faction will be cool. A lot of the complaints about the first Killzone are completely unfounded IMO, but one issue with that game that everyone can agree on is that there wasn't much variety in the enemies. Adding another faction to the game could really add some much needed variety in the stuff you're shooting at. If handled well it could take the story in some neat directions as well. Or it could just suck...

@Demon_Zoul: I know what you mean about the cover system. I mean a cover system that works in the first person sounds like a weird idea, but Guerilla really seems to be focused on keeping the player as immersed in the game as possible. Taking us out of the first person would kind of kill the immersion factor. If they can pull this off and make the game as immersive as they are hoping, then I'm all for the first person cover system.

You can turn on UPNP in the "internet connection settings" screens. However, like the last guy said, you may not need to now if you happen to have a flash card or something. You can just store the files on your PS3 now.
If you need to use streaming for some reason, there's an option under settings somewhere to turn on/off media server searching. If that's off you'll need to turn it on again. I don't recall exactly where it is, but it's somewhere obvious enough.

Well you don't have to call him a fool. He was just asking.

@20: The quality in the videos you checked out may have been the same, depending on how long the guy who compressed them felt like spending, but you'll probably notice the DivX files are a lot smaller than the Mpeg4 vids. Also, most stuff you download online will be in a DivX/Xvid format. This saves you having to convert the files if you intend to put them on your PS3's hard drive. My PC's old and converting stuff take...

Cool. They even got Killer Croc in there.

Paradise online is probably my favorite online experience on the PS3 right now. I can't wait for the full version with 8 players. God damn it's going to be sweet.

"zollner13" on PSN if anyone's looking to race or just crash into each other.

I only picked up Colossus a few weeks ago. It was like $10 so how could I say no? Anyway it's a cool game, but it has some pretty enormous flaws that prevent it from competing with the likes of God of War I think. The concept of SOTC is great, graphics are great, gameplay is unique and it has a lot going for it, but the controls are awful and the gameplay ends up being seriously repetitive after the 3rd or 4th colossus goes down. It's still great despite those flaws, but GoW was nearly flawle...

That blows. The weird thing is I picked up a Gamecube around 3 years ago, near then end of it's life cycle and I found most multi plat games looked better on the Cube than they did on the PS2...and even better on the original Xbox. So why, now that Nintendo finally has a successful system again, are devs making games that look worse than anything I ever recall seeing on the Cube? It doesn't make sense.

I'm glad I bought my son a wii because I was able to give him my entire Cub...

God damn this game looks nice. Overall DiRT PS3 doesn't look quite as nice as the Gran Turismo demo, but it's close. I can't wait to see what they can do with an improved game engine. If they go a little bit "arcadey" this one could give Project Gotham a run for its money.

If more games would integrate your friends list like UT3 and Burnout: Paradise this would be a non issue. I think Sony was expecting devs to incorporate their own in game communications systems. Theoretically that approach would free up resources and work a lot better overall as it would be specific to the game you're currently playing. Unfortunately most devs aren't really doing anything useful with people's existing friends lists. Damn shame if you ask me. In game XMB will be cool, but dev...

I know what they meant. That was my point. They couldn't find a reason to call the 360 version superior, so they invented a BS reason to call it equal...rumble. Which the PS3 version has anyway. The 360 has a ton of multi plat games that are clearly superior. Why then is it so hard for some people to admit that occasionally the PS3 gets a very slightly better version of a game?

BTW the demo finally finished downloading and I love it. The online is amazing fun. This could be the...

Well the poster used the title of the article he was linking to, so according to N4G posting rules he did the right thing. I can certainly see why you might think it's fanboyish, though.

I don't really get MGS: Online. I mean if I hide in a cardboard box, that's good enough to fool an a.i. sentry, but it's not likely to fool anyone online. They must be implementing some pretty serious changes to the gameplay to have it work as a multiplayer game.
