This update sucks. I thought after taking a week off they might have something good for us.
Ah well. I opened a PAL account last week for The Club demo and I just found out they have Kane&Lynch on there too. That's something I guess.
Anyone know of anything good on the Japanese store? I opened the account for the Gran Turismo demo, but I can't really navigate it since my Japanese is...nonexistent.

Yaa, that was definitely a titan he was riding up Olympus at the end of GOW 2. Those guys who were having a meeting about what to do with Kratos were the gods. Hades looks so f*cking cool in that scene.

Now everyone who hasn't done so yet, go play the God of War games. They're still better than a lot of the stuff we've seen this generation.
The Perseus battle in GOW 2 sucked, as did the battle with the gate keeper (Theseus?) and the Pegasus levels, but that game still ruled. I just think the first one was a lot more consistent. Also GOW 2 lost some of its wow factor since we'd already seen and been amazed pretty much the same graphics in GOW 1. GOW 3 should take care of that problem.
Man I can't wait. Farcry 1 was one of the only reasons I was ever jealous of my roommates xbox (over my PS2 and Gamecube). That game kicked @ss on so many levels. This might end up being a day one purchase on PS3 for me.
@Mk_Red: Oh we'll get Crysis. Probably sometime next year. Looks like WoW is staying PC exclusive, though. Personally I could do without it. I spend way to much time gaming anyway (over 120 hours on Oblivion so far). I can just imagine of I got into the curse that is WoW.
@mistertwoturbo: I think I saw a story yesterday saying that Starcraft 2 was going to the 360. Presumably if that were the case they'd do the PS3 as well. I seem to remember Starcraft 1 made a less than stella...

Right, but there are almost 20 million 360s out there that won't be able to play HD-DVD games and may not be able to use the HD. I think if they get to a point where some crazy RPG or something is using up more than 4 dvd's they may release an optional HD-DVD version, but there will always need to be standard DVD 360 games.
When I get around to buying a 360 it definitely won't be this model. There's no need for that HD unless you intend to use IPTV because you can't put anything useful on a 360 hard drive anyway. At least not anything that's going to take that kind of space. No DivX videos on the HD, mods, etc and games still won't be allowed to take advantage of the HD since they're still selling the arcade model. Finally who wants and HD-DVD drive? Seriously, that war is over. If one format manages to last at ...
Seems to me they would have to take a step back graphically from the first game while they get their new tech like streaming textures sorted out. Once that stuff is all implemented and working they can start adding higher res. textures, crank up the AA and post processing, etc. I'm sure in the end it will look great.
It would have been nice to have it out of the box like Mark promised, but at least they're getting it out there quickly. I can't wait until that western style mod that was on here a few weeks ago comes out.
I'm surprised they felt the need to defend the demo. I enjoyed it a lot and all of the people I met online playing seemed to be really enjoying it. Having to drive to events is a bit of a hassle, but I can see why they would have done it that way since they were going for a completely menu-less, load free game. We can't have it all.
The White Engine must be costing an arm and a leg to develop. I bet most of the budget is going towards CG, though. You know how Squenix loves their CG.
Honestly that doesn't sound like all that much to me. I heard the new FF game is supposed to cost around $80 million or something. Although I bet the marketing budget for Halo 3 put it in the $60 million range.

I bought a cube around 18 months ago for pretty cheap. It was well worth it. there's a great library of games available that the majority of us never played because we opted for PS2's or Xbox's. The Metroid games come to mind or the Rogue Squadron sequels. The Cube was a powerful little box too so the graphics hold up well.
It would have sucked owning one as your only console last gen because there weren't a lot of good games coming out at all times, but with a 7 year back catalogue to...
