Screw parity. If they can make it look better on one console or the other then they bloody well should. I never heard of a developer wasting time trying to match up the SNES of a game with the version for the less powerful Genesis, nor do we see developers dumbing down PC ports to match the console versions. Why is parity so important between the 360 and the PS3?
I actually preferred the first one. GoW2 added a lot, but most of the additions were pretty weak like those Pegasus riding levels. Still, the game was bloody amazing. I bought my PS3 instead of a 360 specifically for GoW3. Who knew it would take so long.

Got the demo sitting on my PS3 right now, but I haven't bothered transferring it over the the PSP yet. Sort of curious to see exactly how this thing plays.
Ideally they would have just cleaned them up before release instead of half-assing it and then patching later. As far as I can remember, Morrowind worked like a charm on the original Xbox...if you don't count the soul crushing load times.
@Gamoc: That may be true of some gamers. Personally I generally play a good guy on my first play through regardless of whether or not that's going to net me more credits. When I play a bad guy it's usually just a quick run through the game to see what may have been.
It's weird how they never put out Halo 2. I've never been a Halo guy, but I sort of feel like I should check out Halo 3 to see what all the hype is about. Thing is I'd like to run through the originals before I get into it. I would have it already if Halo 2 was on LIVE.
Sometimes I wish they'd just include some cool toys or something with CEs, but leave the actual game box alone. All these steel boxes and stuff would look totally out of place next to the rest of my collection. Maybe I'm a little bit too compulsive, but it's actually prevented me from getting CEs before.
During gameplay. It pops in after every cut scene, load time, etc, etc. It's not your typical UE3 pop-in either. It takes a LONG time sometimes. There's also significant texture pop-in when you're navigating the inventory/character screens.
I know a little bit of pop-in is to be expected with UE3, but it's not nice and quick like Gears or something. It takes ages.
Anyway, enough about the pop-in. Mass Effect was a great game. Can't wait for part 2.
I did install it. Never played it for one second off the disc. It still has worse texture pop-in than ANY game I've ever seen. Not trying to bash the game, it was hella fun, but I'd rather they focus on fixing the technical issues before they go upgrading the graphics. Hopefully they feel the same over at Bioware.
I'd be happy with mildly improved graphics or no improvement at all if it meant they could get rid of the texture pop-in and frame drops. Luckily the RPG nature of the game meant the framerate issues weren't a huge deal, but the texture pop-in really bothered me.
It's nice of them to sort of vaguely half confirm that *maybe* trophies will be coming for all those MGS die-hards out there, but god damn. What the hell took them so long? Is it really that hard to implement some trophies? Seems like the sort of thing they could have a couple of interns do over the weekend.
