Yeah, it'll be out this gen. They've been pretty open about the dev process so far and it's definitely being made for PC, 360 and PS3. I'd bet it's not as far off as we might think. They're going to want to get it out the door quick so they can start focusing on licensing tech 5 out to other devs.
That's how we roll in the great white, baby! :)
Seriously, though, I'd love to pick up Deadspace. Why do these deals always come up when I have $0.
Mostly Sega, I'd say. High Voltage proved they can make a decent game so they'll all still have jobs regardless of the sales. Nintendo is selling a crap tonne of Wiis so I'm sure they aren't losing any sleep over a lack of hardcore game sales.
In the end it's Sega who loses profit because they keep thinking there's actually a hardcore contingent of Wii owners and funding good games that ultimately flop at retail. At least they gave a good effort. Best just go back to waggle f...
I suppose they could. It just seems like, given the timeframe, it would be a lot easier to just make a deal with an established PC manufacturer. I think their relationship with Dell is slightly tarnished now that Dell also sells Linux PCs, so HP seems like the obvious choice.
Anyway, we'll find out soon enough, but I'd be very surprised if the only hardware in the MS store was the 360 and some mp3 players.
If Windows 7 fixes even half the compatibility problems Vista had then these guys will fall in line and switch soon enough. XP is nice and all, but in this age of 64 bit, quad core processors it's just not going to be able to keep up for much longer.
Sooner or later they're all going to have to bite the bullet and either upgrade to Windows 7 or seriously consider a Unix based alternative.
He raises a good point about a possible lack of tangible products in the Microsoft stores. Something tells me MS has penned a deal with HP or someone and they'll be pimping real PC hardware by the time their stores launch.
If I were Mark Shuttleworth I'd buy some retail space adjacent to the Apple and MS stores in Times Square and open an Ubuntu store. Just to screw with 'em.
You guys catch that bit towards the end where Carmack basically confirms an iPhone port of Tech 5? That should be interesting.

It does work wirelessly. I haven't had a PSP for long and I still haven't bothered playing any MP games with it, but this ad-hoc party thing sounds like a great way to connect.
Pure dogfighting? How's the flying in this? I remember the last time I tried was back in Battlefield 2 for PC and it was incredibly difficult.
I'm the same way. The thing I'll really miss about TPB is the layout. It's one area where it just couldn't be beat. Demonoid always has what i need, but it's a little annoying finding it sometimes.
@Kevin: Yeah, that's how they look. One of them ended up working eventually. I went over to the Demonoid forums and one of the mods told me as long as they're still in my profile (they are, except for the one that worked) that they "should" work. So if you got one from me, keep trying.
Hmmm. Apparently my codes don't work. Wth? Anyone else had that issue?
That's a shame. Anyone need an invite for Demonoid?
Looks nice. I prefer the old style 2d Worms games over the 3d ones they've been making lately.
I know the PS3 doesn't have a timer, but can't you set it so it won't play games rated "M" and movies rated "R". I've never tried it myself, but I remember even the PS2 had that feature.
Edit: Okay I just checked on my PSP (because it was right next to me with an "M" game in it) and even that has the ability to restrict mature games.
It's weird that they would get turned down for not being "commercial" enough. I have a bunch of games off Live and PSN and most of them are really good, but it seems like the least commercial ones are all on PSN.
That's not to say they're any better or worse than the offerings on Live, but to accuse the platform that brought us Flower and Pixeljunk Eden of being to commercially oriented seems a bit...off.
Wouldn't it be like Road Rash 12? I think Road Rash 2 was a SNES/Genesis game or something.
Something tells me the new Zelda might move a couple of copies...
Also, the Sega nerd in me just *has* to point out that Jet Grind wasn't originally an Xbox game. No big deal, I guess.
@Alco and Assassyn: You guys may be right, but this article would have us believe that the two are in direct competition with one another. That's was the point of the whole thing. So why wouldn't people compare the two games in the comment section?
Get back in the forums.
