yeah Demon's Souls definitely has its moments...
i just beat Adjudicator after a tense fight (was close to death like 5 times) and it was just.. way too exciting.
also, the first time a Black Phantom (aka another player) invaded my game i literally went OH SH*T! dude spawned right next to me but didnt notice me because i was wearing gear that made me invisible. close call :D
the most innovative thing about the game is how it blends single player experience with co-op and pvp.
for example, you can always see other players' ghosts running around, fading in and out.. you see them fighting bosses you just killed yourself etc. really cool feature. you also see where they died, and if you touch their bloodstains you'll see how they died (and maybe learn from their mistakes). also you can leave tips (or misleading messages if you're a d1ck :P) for other pla...
i thought it looked bland too at first, like any boring fantasy hack 'n slash...
but now after playing it myself for 40 hours or so, it's one of the best games this gen. you really just have to play it yourself. the graphics look better than what the videos suggest too, many little details like self-shadowing are excellently done. and the monster designs and animations are great. some of the environments too are quite impressive.
this is interesting. cant wait to find out how it all plays out...

since i remember the devs being worried before release that it if it doesn't sell well they're going to be in trouble... that it was a big risk.
i would have bought it if it was on PS3, in a heartbeat. i LOVE unique games.
this is one front where Sony has totally surprised me, i really didnt expect to see so many downloadable games that i would like.. (im usually just a graphics whore who goes for the big budget games)

Siren: Blood Curse (it was only downloadable at first, and is perhaps the best horror game this gen, criminally underrated)

the Japanese voices better be on the blu-ray. they sounded SO MUCH better and less awkward in the trailers. at least give us the choice...

ohh and LBP is cheap as hell.
im getting older too (27 next week), and i really like the XMB for it's simplicity and minimalist approach. if i ever start to see ads or unnecessary clutter, i will lose some of my love for the system... luckily Sony hasnt changed it yet, and i hope they wont, no matter how many whiny articles pop up.

i mean, do they REALLY know enough about Japanese culture (for example) to make a parody game about life in Tokyo..? i doubt it somehow. it could fail miserably, possibly even come off as unintentionally racist or something.

ah.. well... that sucks. i wanted trophies for MGS4, not necessarily to platinum it, but at least so that the game would be visible in my games list... (you know, when you do "compare trophies" with someone)

kinda like 360 with Bully...
sucks that it didnt sell all that much... it was a really fun game. some aspects like controls, atmosphere, gore, death animations etc were absolutely excellent.
