I pre-ordered the game a year ago because I figured Nomura at least made his latest convoluted story something magical. Plus his team ensures pretty good gameplay. Hopefully they didn't change it that much when development shifted. Either way, it couldn't be nearly as bad as XIII or XII. Might be the first decent story to come out of FF since XI: Chains of Promathia although I heard Heavensward was great too.
Yeah... I'm a Vita owner and I'll admit it has been dead for at least a year. The last decent thing was Freedom Wars and the only truly great thing coming is Severed. That and Gravity Rush and Tearaway were just remastered/transferred over to the PS4 (i.e. the system's two best new IPs are becoming PS4-centric franchises most likely).
Rock lol... but yeah all of the resources will be relocated and the Wii U will be forgotten. Not because Nintendo doesn't care (they kind of don't), but because they don't want to spend anymore time and money settling for this mediocre level of success when they were just recently raking in the chips with the Wii. They will have a hard time getting the home console market back though and their real saving grace will be portable gaming.
True. I feel like some of the games philosophical content and puzzles are way out of reach for the majority but that doesn't mean there isn't some sort of tangible value for even the most archetypal gamer. I still can't believe 30% of people have achieved certain lasers though lol. Based on the difficulty spike of this game I'm willing to bet less than half of that percentage did the puzzles independently.
Status update: 11 out of 11 lasers. Beat the game. Abo...
I would still like to see it become standard for the big three to unify their retro libraries across all future systems digitally kind of like Steam. No more buying games 3+ times would be great (original release, digital release, next console's digital release, etc.). I know they aren't forcing us to re-purchase, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be able to have ease of access and use our newest system as an all-in-one gaming system instead of keeping a PS2, 3, and 4 standin...
It looks good, but I've been disappointed by good looking games before. I say this as a Guerilla fan as well. In other words, I loved Killzone 2 but was underwhelmed by 1 and Shadow Fall, so who knows how Horizon will pan out until we actually get our hands on it?
P.S. I didn't disagree with you.
I feel like wages and taxes are aligned in such a way that Europe pays the same amount as far as proportions go (average salaries are nearly the same before conversion so Europe's wages are technically higher). It's kind of like how us in Canada pay more for our "free" healthcare through taxes than those in the states do for a family health insurance plan. Don't even get me started about how alcohol is half the price in the US and gas and food is also much cheaper there....
Nobody else is doing anymore to up the limited edition game. Xbox has a few two-toned systems because the system is designed to have have a colour dichotomy. PS4 LEs are going for a more simple and clean look (KH anybody) and wouldn't look as symmetrical with two different colours. Plus the customizable hard drive cover opens up all kinds of possibilities with the PS4s already available.
P.S. 360 imo has some of the most absurdly flashy and childish LEs I've ever seen...
It's fantastic. Although I am questioning the reviewers who took about 40 hours to beat the game and solve over 300 puzzles. My current stats are something like this: Beat the game. 8 out of 11 lasers. About 330 puzzles solved. About 15 hours in.
Same. My friend has been pretending to be really into it because he blew $70 near launch on it (even bought it over the new TR), and in reality, the hours he's put into it pales in comparison to what he put into Titanfall and Destiny. This is also considering he said he didn't even like Destiny and stopped playing it two weeks after he bought it.
It's pretty mediocre. I honestly hate how the laser weapons work on a basic physics level. It's re-skinned battlefield with less content and not as good feeling gunplay. No two ways around it. Any other perceived quality comes from the understandable Star Wars bias most of us have.
Uncharted, Journey, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Limbo, Braid, Heavy Rain, Flower, the telltale games, Fallout 3 was basically a new IP via drastic reboot and new dev, left 4 dead, portal, Little big planet, etc.
Commercial and critical successes and I barely scratched the surface.
The view of someone who owns a PS4 and a Wii U and sees the value of games ranging from The Last of Us to Super Mario Galaxy? Both were commercial and critical successes. One is a new IP. Evidence would be fun instead of conjecture on your part. But if the name is any indication, I probably shouldn't bother with this conversation.
Oh and who is agreeing with your nonsense? Obligatory fanboys who are not comprehending my lack of animosity or?
You have done nothing to refute anything or support anything. This is why post-study comments at 4 am are a bad thing. Many of the best games of the last generation were new IPs. Some were even only used once. Peace.
So much aggression. While I realize new IP doesn't necessarily equal innovation they almost always bring something fresh and what you're saying is pretty counter-intuitive. How can you evolve and progress without taking some risks? This applies to almost every business.
If it had a nifty multiplayer or co-op mode then it wouldn't have had those complaints. I'm personally glad I paid 10 dollars for it because there really only was maybe 20 dollars worth of content.
Realistically you could say what you just said about most shooters, but those games have longevity due to other modes. The Order didn't even have replayability due to being even more linear than what we have come to expect from linear games (Uncharted has alternative pa...
I'd rather see a new FF Tactics on console than XII. That's Ivalice and story telling done right.
Agreed. It would be like the windwaker remaster in that it would take minimal effort to pull off but would look gorgeous.
If NX does turn out to be their next-gen system and has Wii U backwards compatibility...I won't buy it. Not after being burned by the U's short life cycle.
But Versus 15 will actually be FF17. Release date: 2026. Would cry. Then again I'm probably done buying anything SE makes with the exception of games that Nomura is spearheading and Dragon Quests. Ironically, Nomura is working on everything though.
