Sadly agree. I feel the same way about Nintendo and home consoles.
Also LBP Vita might have been my favourite in the series and I've played every single game in the franchise barring Sackboy's prehistoric moves or whatever. Tearaway is another great example for sure and after seeing PS4 footage I can confidently say the Vita is the best place to play it. Also, PSone classics on the go anybody? The PS4 doesn't yet support these and most people don't have a PSP that works so flawlessly anymore.
I'm still of the mind that you would be hard pressed to find something that looks and plays as good as KZ:M but the Vita doesn't have enough of these heavy hitter games for it to matter much. It bothers me because the system is still only on its 4th year so even as a failure Sony is likely to be in portable limbo for as long as two or three years while they solely promote the PS4. Even the PS3 is getting more support at this point lol. Could have been great with a few more games, supp...
It depends on the person. Some people like to have things immediately and know the consequences; however, I felt a little bad when I saw basically the Destiny bundle with TLoU for 400 or something when I paid 470 for just the Destiny bundle. We're talking an 8 month time lapse though here so I'm not too upset, especially since Destiny probably got less exciting after its initial launch.
I'd say effectively works because you are paying approximately 150 to 200 on the rest of the stuff. The only thing I would legitimately count as a freebie is the gift card obviously. That's just my take on it but yeah...if AC could be swapped out for a good game that would be legit.
Very true. I expect more polish for TLG but every fan is actually in it for the story and art direction tbh. It isn't supposed to be photorealistic or anything. I just hope they fix the wonky wind physics on the demon's feathers. Only complaint in the visuals department really.
Always preferred the silent protagonist so that my imagination could compensate for often mediocre voiceacting. The character is also supposed to be you in TES whereas in The Witcher you're already a certain person with a set name, looks, etc. Having someone else's voice kind of kills this sense of immersion imo. Maybe I just prefer the sense of a visual novel in my RPGs over the feeling of watching a movie. I leave that to games that actually pull it off like Uncharted.
It's true. Though the third one suffered from some blandness, the first game took it to a whole new level of bland and the villain was horribly generic as well. Uncharted 3 with the drug trip and getting lost in the desert were cool plotwise because it kind of showed Nate starting to break at the hands of that woman. They also played some clever plot devices to make you think tragedy is impending and then the drugs return to help convey this, but then you realize you were tripping. Mind b...
I wouldn't mind a pirates revisit since the art style was pretty cool for that one. Steamboat Willy level was sweet as well. I could definitely live without Little Mermaid and Frozen but The Pooh Book is always a lighthearted source of fun mini-games and chests cleverly hidden in logs. Can't get rid of that!
I agree the demo was nothing special. Especially after a generation of redefined climbing and jumping from Uncharted. But I think the end product will be stunning. Even their last two games had really slow underwhelming parts and those games were gems. I'm personally hoping for another open world with this game. Except it would be great if you could ride/fly the Griffin creature around. I'd also like to see more of those guards shooting arrows to see how the combat aspect of the game ...
Lol so The Dark Tomb Raider will have a desert like Uncharted 3.
@Elit3Nick Just no. Uncharted 1 and 2 are night and day. Not only the graphics and animations, but some gameplay mechanics and the addition of truly cinematic gameplay sets the games apart. U2 is when the franchise went from being average triple AAA to one of the best gaming franchises of all time and the best action/adventure franchise period. On the other hand, if you compared U2 and U3, they are much closer a...
Agreed. It's a huge game and could eclipse most of Square's modern RPGs. Why wouldn't they throw it on the Xbox if Kingdom Hearts III is going to the Xbox and that franchise has literally no presence on that system. It would almost be dumb to buy it as an Xbox gamer if they don't get a remastered collection out soon though. Either way, me and all of my fellow RPG fans have stuck to PlayStation for blatantly obvious reasons over the past two decades. That will never change with...
U4 any day of the week. So far we know nothing about Horizon but it looks like Guerilla swiped alot of pages from ND's book to make the game look as great as it does. I'm in the wait and see boat for that one simply because it's too early, we don't anything about the open-world or RPG mechanics and 90% of that demo seemed scripted.
@DragonKnight
Actually the original store might have been the worst of all. They updated it a few years in and at that point it was pretty remarkable and close to the experience we have on PS4 today. Then they updated again and isolated everything and made the store a separate app (likely to reduce the OS footprint). That's when things went way downhill.
Wow... They just left a considerable user base in the dust when the handheld could have taken off with some third party support. Nintendo is doing the same thing with the Wii U and I can't believe how quickly they decide something is doomed to be a failure without trying. Imagine if Sony gave up on the PS3 a few years in? Or if MS opted out of making game systems after the original Xbox didn't sell like hotcakes? Or even if Nintendo gave up on the game cube, a system that still ended ...
Yeah it's actually a huge deal. Perhaps bigger than Tetsuya Nomura coming back from his decade long Versus hiatus. Going to have to wait and see.
I think it was better for ergonomics but the x1 controller has some perks like the improved d-pad and new rumble and whatnot.
So many fanboys. It's always been subjective. It's like trying to define the best tennis racket. Everyone ha their own preference. I think if anything they've become more similar this generation and its really down to your take on the features, battery, and analog layout. And maybe visual aesthetics? They both look sweet imo.
I'd like to say I put in 80 to 100 and I completely agree. The game felt pointless to play after awhile. What's the point in scrounging up an extra few stats if there's nothing to do with them?
It would make the most sense for them to attempt to have he systems be a year apart max for power reasons so they can have a really cohesive set of companion systems. While the PS3 and PSP felt somewhat linked and the Vita feels a bit more linked withcrossplay and superior remote play, I think they could do even better in this department by developing both systems concurrently and not having release gaps (2003 and 2006 and now 2011 and 2013).
