I'm not getting this whole "hating the idea of upgrade-able consoles" thing. As of right now these are just rumors, so clearly we don't have all the facts....can we wait first? If the consoles are fully backwards compat, and future compat (at least for a few years)....then at that point, the idea is an option...so that seems like an excellent idea to me. I'll be grabbing all the upgraded consoles. Not everyone has the same dedication to gaming. Not everyone wants to...
Nice, 14 hours is a good solid length....of course I wouldn't be opposed to longer either, but 14 hours will be sweet. One thing I've hated this gen is when "reviewers" speed run a game on easy and then say "blah blah blah game is only 10 hours long"
I want a Remastered COD4, WaW, BO1 & 2...then maybe a new one by Treyarch in the vein of the last three. Enough Futuristic/Superpower crap.
Uh....ok it's a closure.
I find plenty to play, in fact in my 30+ years of gaming, I think it's better now than it's ever been
I own them all like every gen (and had a dreamcast too...and a PC). Sorry, looking at that list, there isn't a single heavy hitter in the bunch. Not saying they are crap games or anything...just nothing extra special...the only one I bought was Ratchet and Clank
No, good game, but most over-rated game ever made. It had the exact same strengths and weaknesses as QB, except QB had better gameplay.
Really? I hate 3rd person MP's and I actually LOVED the Gears Beta...esp the 5 on AI mode for some reason
Not "best" IMO...for me it's UC series right now (although I can only imagine how great Syphon Filter COULD be). Great franchise though...no doubt.
What a fanboy approach....so instead of being multiplat, they should just change WHO they are exclusive for? You do realize they would sell most being Multi-plat right? You don't win anything if Sony sells the most consoles, I swear...in fact if you help them gain TOO MUCH lead...you'll probably end up losing. More to the point, counting X1 out and ignoring the great things it has to offer as well...ALREADY means you're losing.
That is both great and sad at the same time. It's great that a solid game can do so well after so much time, it shows that it's truly a classic...it's sad because it's a remake...and probably owes much of it's success due to the fact that it released during a drought on a console with almost 40 million install base now. I mean I know I'm gonna get hate for that, but seriously...think about it...40 mil PS gamers are itching for something to play until UC4 comes out......
MS owns it, and all rumors/hints point to MS having just moved key players from Lionhead and starting development on Fable 4. Again, from rumors, it sounds like MS was really just disappointed with the heads of Lionhead not having clear direction...so think of this more as a restructure than a closure.
Well we know MS did based on their press release....I was just wondering how many people Sony hired from Lionhead after throwing their PR hiring party.
Well that's a disappointment if true....I hope they are just working on a new IP or something like earlier rumors said.
What about all those things? Cloud has provided awesome AI and stable online games (and MS FULLY admitted up-front that it would start off slow and grow as time passed), DX12 is performing perfectly with games that use it and it even made the X1 UI faster and more efficient (I still don't even think we've seen a game made ground up for DX12...so implying it's a failure is just stupid). I'm the exact opposite, I love my PS4 but it's really only for the rare exclusive now....
Will be sweet when games start taking advantage of cloud compute...really just relies on network stability of the general population, but it could make a massive difference in games. I like that the idea is being explored.
Well actually they first mentioned this months ago...so it's not new. Not to mention, it sounds more like MS is addressing the issue of making things forward/backward compatible...which is really the only issue. If upgrading your console is an OPTION, not mandatory...then who cares really? Then it's all just about how dedicated you are...if you care, you'll upgrade, if you don't you won't.....having choices isn't a bad thing.
I don't know, out of the two heavy hitter consoles right now, X1 has delivered on more promises. Not to mention, PS4 highly anticipated exclusives are down to almost nothing....this year it's UC4....and that's about it now that Horizon has been delayed.
I love both of the consoles, but there's not point in hiding that X1 does all my heavy lifting these days. Plus, saying "broken promises" looks like you're TRYING to find something to complai...
The only one of those games that had anything to do with DX12 AT ALL...and wasn't built ground up for it was RotTR...and it looks fantastic on both console AND PC.
If any gaming company has been learning from their past to fix their future...it's MS. From 2-3 years ago, MS has already made rather impressive strides and looks to keep pushing forward with great ideas for the future.
I've never seen any other gaming company as actively engaged in it's feedback program.
