The most recent TR is actually a better game IMO, ESPECIALLY in the Gameplay aspect. Not to mention, UC owes a lot of it's inspiration to TR.
Reviews are always opinions...so you can't say it's "not true". There are a few things I don't like about it. First the AI is very cheap. The enemy AI knows EXACTLY where you are at all time even if they lose line of sight, their spidey senses are dialed up to 11, and they have endless grenades (which they don't wait for you to hold still to use)...while friendly AI does nearly nothing to help you (thank god they can't be seen in stealth). THIS ALONE has knoc...
Hard....I doubt I'll ever play it on crushing, I'm going to trade it towards Doom now.
Not really, I've been gaming for over 30 years and now is the best time ever to be a gamer...it's a great problem to have when you need to rush through games to get to the next. Nothing to be sad about at all.
8/10 is a deathwish?
Who said "without gameplay"? I just think the combat (except stealth combat) isn't done well in this game
Yes
DONE!!! So everything you'd expect from a UC game was superb....excellent visuals and story telling...I love the setting too. There was about 25% of the game they could have cut out, and no one would have missed it, but including it didn't harm anything either. I really really didn't like the combat system/cover system, those were horrible...and the AI was rather stupid.....really the only major weak point for me. I would have liked to have an option to beat the game completely...
Hahah, no need to sweat bullets, I had no hidden agenda...I bought and love the Rachet and Clank game, it was a really well done remaster/remake...whatever you want to call it. I was more talking about how tons of articles these days...esp in gaming using headlines that aren't "wrong" but intentionally misleading....either way, it's a hell of an accomplishement
8/10 for me...without combat 9/10.
Nope, I've bee gaming for a while, more than 30 years actually...and I've played TONS of 3rd person cover shooters....this one's mechanics just suck plain and simple...the problems I have with it have nothing to do with skill....more how the cover system picks and chooses how to work, Poor AI, endless grenades etc. Your weak attempt to discredit me only shows your insecurities...and that you know I'm right. I'm using the PS4 I bought in November 2013
I think it only stings you because you know I'm right .
The insecurity on this site is out of hand....I said I DO love the game, and that it has many incredible strengths, I just hate the combat system (aside from the stealth combat)...and out come the pitchforks. The over-emotional response to that is just ridiculous...it shows "you" aren't looking for actual opinions...just ones that match what "you" WANT to hear. Sorry, I love the game..but ...
The further I get into this game, the more I realize it goes from "wow this game is a masterpiece" to "F this game, it's the most over-rated piece of $%#% ever made"...simple due to combat mechanics. IF you had the option to play this game without the forced combat sequences and remain in conflict sequences ONLY if you were stealth...the game would be near perfect...that'd be a sweet setting IMO. The combat ruins this game for me completely....I still absolutely ...
Well done Insomniac....sortta misleading title though...not wrong, but "broke franchise record" would have been more accurate. It didn't break any records across ALL games. Again...not wrong...just could have been phrased a bit better
FANTASTIC story/voice acting/sound/visuals...killed a bit by weak gameplay while in combat (which thankfully are rare). Towards the end of the game...I'm thinking 8-8.5/10...but still a great game, and Story telling IS the game's biggest strength
...although if you want a quick 1000 Gamerscore in about an hour or two....
I get what you are saying, but with how stupid the AI is...just randomly running past an enemy in the wide open while I'm hiding....I'm glad they made that choice. It's much easier to have enemy AI ignore friendly AI than program smarter AI. Although I do wish that you had an option to throw a rock or whistle while in hiding.
I don't know, but I hope they fix the cover system/clunky mechanics,(it DOES seem logical that Uncharted/TLoU would share mechanics)...most of the game is fantastic outside of combat, but the weak combat (other than stealth) is making me like the game less and less. I'm on chapter 20 now (I think...maybe 19)...and the combat has made me go from "I LOVE this game" to "I just want to finish, screw the treasures, it's time to trade it for Doom". If they stuck wi...
Seems logical
Skyrim is a better game IMO as well...but I did like UC4 a lot
