Well...are we assuming any company wants to give away their goods for free?

Bet money that if this game sells well (which it almost certainly will) that MS tries to buy Moon Studios (if they haven't already)

This game looks awesome!!!X1 has actually impressed me with quite a few indies that I REALLY want to play.

On the top of those lists are Ori, Blues and Bullets (although the name is dumb), Smite, Neverwinter, Zheros, Elite, Wasteland 2,Beyond Eyes, Cuphead, Earthlock, Flame the Flood, Submerged, Shadow Blade.....SOOOOOO MANY GAMES TO PLAY. Before this week there were only 4 of those games that I thought would make it onto my X1....and I know I'm forgetting some. This y...

"There is a performance ceiling in the system. This tool may help you reach the upper limit, but it doesn't raise the limit."

I see your point, but in a way that WOULD be a 15% boost. It's like in a car, it may already have the power, but if you remove a limiting factor like an inefficient exhaust system....the car will see a hp gain. So, this is the kind of gain software updates would provide...it's not adding a nitrous tank to the car, it's helpi...

As of right now there is no solid answer, but this article is just specifically about the eSRAM aspect of the system, just one small part.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry as much about the hardware efficiency %'s as much...any gain will be nice, but the real advantage to X1 will be the tools helping devs make it easier to make games designed specifically for X1. If Devs use it like it was designed, it's already a great system. That's why all these quotes and...

When was the last game on X1 to be under 900p? Also, typically when a game is under 1080p on X1 (esp after the launch window), it's cause it was developed with PS4 in mind first, then practically just ported over to X1. This is why you get all those eSRAM bottleneck/blessing discussions. If you don't develop a game with eSRAM in mind, it becomes a bottleneck and you don't get much out of it. If you develop a game with it in mind, it's a TON of help. So if DX12 makes it so...

Alright, then you have nothing to worry about. You can rest easy that DX12 won't help the X1. It's always great when you can shoot down something helping gaming huh? /s. Clearly you had this ready to copy and paste, and you were excited to do it, cause you were the first one here.

More to the point, the quote you decided to use here actually points to the aspect that I am most excited for with DX12 and X1:
-Yes, X1 already has a low level AP for CPU usage....

Hopefully this will help the X1 from the standpoint of having devs develop games for X1 more specifically instead of just copy and pasting the PS4 version in order to save time and money. If DX12 makes it easier for devs to take full advantage of X1 we may begins seeing some rather noticeable advances.

Did you enjoy 720p games last gen?

4010d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

I agree that PS4 is more straight forward to develop for at the moment...which is why so far we have seen differences...neither system is tapped yet so it's clearly about money/dev time (hopefully this is something DX12 can help with...making games for X1 easier instead of just copy and pasting from PS4 builds). However, as far as Res vs FPS, I can't ever see Res being MORE important. Maybe if it gets to a point where it's a solid 30 but getting it to 60 is rough....maybe at THA...

Honestly forgot this guy worked for Xbox

4011d ago 6 agree0 disagreeView comment

He probably was, but at the same time it doesn't rule anything out about X1. If it was about PC (which almost certainly it was), in no way does it describe specifically what it will do for X1. There's even a possibility that it could help the X1 GPU even more...who knows? Esp since it could very well help make using eSRAM/Tiled Resources even easier and using every bit of the GPU more efficiently.

X1 is KILLIN it!!! So much great news for X1/PC gamers lately.

....yet so refined that it's such a slight difference we need freeze-frames to notice a difference between 900p upscaled and 1080p native

4014d ago 5 agree14 disagreeView comment

That would actually be a noticeable difference though. 900 upscaled vs native 1080p isn't without a freeze-frame and a microscope.

Nah, I have both consoles and I'll be grabbing the X1 version too. I've done the res tests myself and the difference between PS4 and X1 is almost always not noticeable at all...someone like Digital Foundry usually has to tell us which version is "better" as far as res. Never makes a REAL difference.

However I feel X1 has some actual real tangible advantages. I prefer the controller, UI, and Network...and each one of those things makes a bigger difference ...

I won't have anymore bubbles to respond after this...but can someone please explain why I'm getting all the disagrees for this comment? I'm not being disrespectful towards anyone or anything really...and if I offended anyone I'm sorry, It wasn't my goal....I was just offering up an opinion that I feel is the real reason for Order's early success. Combine that with the fact that it was a highly anticipated title and several people pre-ordered the game before reviews c...

I'm not a fan of F2P games, but I like the way Fable is doing it. Basically everything in the game, that effects gameplay is unlock-able just by playing it (and even most of the simply cosmetic stuff as well). I think it's the first time I've ever been happy a game went F2P. The game looks gorgeous.

We all want a Fable 4, but that being said, I have literally no reason not to try this game now (I was going to anyway), and by the looks of it, I will probably rea...
