I only had Xbox 360 last gen (and Xbox gen before that), but this gen have a PS4 and XB1.
I think you mean that the amount of trend of sales for Xbox One will change lower between the announcement and the release of the Kinect-less sku, and then will change higher after the release. That has no bearing on the accuracy of the numbers, and doesn't mean the sales numbers will be inaccurate.
I guess I am the only one that kind of expected this, and thinks it is about right. Think about it....the Beta is in July, and the game comes out in early September. How long is the beta for the game going to be? I figure about 2-3 weeks, tops. An extra 4 days in a 2-3 week period is a significant chunk. It makes sense to me.
On GCU, you can only buy 3 games of the same title, so maybe if it was something I wasn't going to buy for myself. If you are being serious, send me a private message, and we can discuss it.
Thanks to Best Buy gamers club unlocked, I am getting full release games for $48 maximum on release dates. I got Watch Dogs on release Day for $38 with a preorder bonus, and will get $10 off a future game as well. It was a ridiculously good deal to get GCU. Destiny, Shadows Over Mordoor, Assassin's Creed Unity, and Arkham Knight will all be $38 on release day (They will cost $48 but all give a $10 off credit on the next purchase), all with any pre-order incentives Best Buy offers.
I have both systems from day 1. My complaints for the Xbox One are far more than my complaints for the PS4.
PS4. I agree with the people talking about the lack of games (although I do want Killzone and Infamous, but haven't bought them yet, for those two I am waiting for price drops under $30 because I am a cheapskate). Still, we've seen Knack, Kill Zone, and Infamous. I buy multi-platform games on the PS4 for the most part, so I have played some retail release...
I'm someone who never had a PS2, PS3, or PSP, but I have a vita and PS4. I played God of War Chains of Olympus, but that was my only experience with the franchise. I liked Chains of Olympus a lot, so I have been looking forward to this release. I am assuming these will be even better than Chains. I've got it in my wish list for Father's Day, and to me these will be new games.
@morganfell,
I would need to see some sort of evidence before I believed whatever one site that says ALL stats get reset. This article clearly shows that Notoriety gets reset, and that makes sense. I would change my opinion if all stats got reset for disabling on-line, but I don't believe that will happen.
@randomass171, Its not online DRM. The game works fine if you aren't connected (at least as far as I know). You just won't get the build-up of noteriety if you aren't on-line. But if you aren't on-line, you don't need noteriety anyways.
I think this is a little misleading, inst it? I thought Notoriety is a skill related to on-line play anyways. So if you lose your noteriety because you disabled your on-line status, I think that is ok. Its not really a punishment in my eyes.
They never said that. That thing about the only for an hour was written in an article, not a release from Microsoft. Microsoft said the article was false. They NEVER detailed the plan before the switch to get rid of it.
The author states "The Xbox One was in a position to radically change the console market: embracing the digital services, community, and accessibility of Steam; making one’s games available to friends and family everywhere; immerse gamers by having the games react to their emotions; they even tackled general entertainment."
"embracing the digital services, community, and accessibility of Steam;" Without the discounts. Although, we'll see if they reso...
I don't have an issue with Xbox On. My problem is that every 6-8 weeks, after I say 'Xbox turn off' and then I say 'Yes', it stops recognizing 'Yes' altogether. I need to unplug the system and do a cold boot, to get it to recognize again.
Why don't you read what I wrote again. I didn't condemn the service or praise the service. I want to get the rest of the information before I decide if it is a good service or not.
All of the titles in the world would still only be 1/3 of the equation...price and stability are both just as important. If the cost is too high, or if the service doesn't deliver a consistently stable product, then PS Now will be a failure. If it is inexpensive and the service works, then PS Now will have a chance at success.
Comparing steam to an Xbox One is comparing apples and oranges. Steam is a software method for distribution. Xbox One is a piece of hardware. Steam had no initial cost of entry, the Xbox One had a $500 dollar cost of entry. If you wanted a different method of obtaining software for your PC, you had other options. (under the original plan) If you wanted a different method of obtaining software for your XB1, you would be out of luck. When Steam first came out, there wasn't a good reas...
If you are talking to me, I have a remote that controls everything. My point was that the author (and Microsoft) claimed Kinect would remove the need for remotes, but they are wrong. Even with Kinect, you still need remotes.
The article says "The new Kinect, love it or hate it, is (was?) a brilliant addition to the Xbox One even if you remove gaming from the equation completely. It promised to free us from our mountain of remotes, offer up voice-controlled operation of our entire entertainment experience, and had the potential for some unique new gameplay mechanics beyond what we consider basic motion control."
I have a day one Xbox One. It does not free us from a mountain of remotes...
As a person who has had both a PS4 and XB1 both from day 1, I stopped hoping for a decent Kinnect gameafter a week. Kinect doesn't work well. The motion control is a disaster, and litterally almost never works. The voice control is better, but still I would say is less than 90%, which is not good enough to control a game. They can add in optional voice controls for games, but I feel the Kinect is by far the worst part of the package. Glad for future buyers that they won't need to...
Got the Alpha code today, but right now, it says it will take 20 hours to download!?! on my 360, I can download files that size in less than an hour. 20 hours for 6.7 gig is SLOW!!!, But I should get to play tomorrow.
