I know a lot of people regard Carmack as some kind of programming messiah but in reality he is proving to be a bit irrelevant as of late. Rage was beautiful and fun on consoles but that was years ago now. It also took Id a long time to finish that game. They need to focus on showcasing their dev engine more prominently and consistently like Epic and Crytek. Why haven't we seen Doom 4 yet? Carmack is indeed a programming beast but he needs to stop holding these Quakecons and get to wo...

The reboot was enjoyable. I think we would all welcome a fully realized sequel.

A fun read. Not necessarily for its content but for it's style and flow. All I will say is that if MSFT continues to f!!k up as they have been they could indeed "lose" any chance of dominating the upcoming generation. But it is too early to call. Sony is not guaranteed victory at this point as it is too early. Since both consoles are more indistinguishable in features than before, MSFT would need to do but one thing to derail or slow the PS4 Hype Express. Match the price. ...

Unreal engine 4 and the infiltrator demo look pretty as well.

Well, I will not bash on a person who attempts to do something creative. I can say a lot of negative things about his video but all I will say is that I didn't like it.

All of this innuendo is getting me frisky. When I get mine home I might have to take care of business with the box on...you know what I mean. Chafing will ensue....you know what I mean

Very interesting indeed. If pricing parity is achieved I believe X1 will pose a real and legitimate threat to PS4's momentum. Remember that success beyond first adopter sales will depend on the less informed casual and mass market consumer. If MSFT did move forward with eating some cost on a per unit basis consumers will see two boxes that do essentially the same thing at the same price. I love it. This is why competition is a beautiful thing. I would love X1 to be $399 so that mayb...

We will not see any sacrifice in quality due to ram constraints until well into the next console generation. Right now these devs are in hog heaven with the 10 - 12 times increase from the prior gen. Full on optimization is unnecessary at this point.

Valid points and I am not speaking from a position of expertise by any means. I understand there is tons of porting, optimization and localization to be done when we speak of multi platform triple A games. I understand that team count will inflate as development approaches a finished product. I know there are time constraints and deadlines to be met catalyzing the need for more people. But I must ague that development bloat does not necessarily lead to higher quality finished products. ...

The X1 has done a lot to redeem itself in my eyes. I am as agnostic as possible and most of the issues (except price) have been fixed. My first system this time around will be PS4 but I will be getting an X1 before next gen is concluded. I must commend MSFT on their quick response to what would have been absolute domination by Sony.

I know. I wish this was a launch or launch window game. It was one of a handfull of games that got me excited for next gen.

80 person team. I really hope this game is a graphical and mechanical masterpiece. It would show those other studios that you don't need 500 people to make a friggin game. Games with modest allocated resources such as this and Metro are great arguments for a renaissance in how devs plan and make their games. This would also be a good argument against the necessity of a $60 price on games

Right now this sits side by side with Deep Down and Halo 5 as my most anticipat...

Sad. Who would ever think that ram size and type would be such a volatile issue or a topic to be considered worthy of conversation. A console is more than ram or GPU or CPU. It is a well balanced amalgamation of all of those things. More so than the PC, consoles are built to fully exploit their discreet components.

A lot of you are losing focus on the large picture and are becoming a bit granular on issues you nor I fully understand. Take a step back...realize that the...

I liked it. The two actors are missing the nuanced interaction that exists in the game but they did a good job none the less. I like the fact that all of the spoken lines are lifted entirely from the game and there is no artistic license taken. This little fan homage is proof of concept that TLOU would make a great movie in the vein of and similar to The Road. I would love to see a full feature film based on this game.

The more I see of DR3 the more I am intrigued. The grafx look solid and the gameplay looks fun. I was never a fan of the old DR games but this one looks like a step up.
