Makes sense. Nintendo didn't just release Mario Odyssey, Zelda Botw, nor Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
You and the rest of the primarily single player gamers.
One reason digital works for PC and not the existing consoles is due to pricing. There's a good portion of Switch games that cost more than their PS4/Xbox one counterparts. If the digital Google version is able to come in at less than the PS4/X1 versions, along with frequent Steam quality sales, then that will certainly help the adaptation. Add in some consumer friendly digital policies (like the ones Steam has and PS4/X1 lack), and suddenly digital looks a lot more appealing to your aver...
When's the last time you bought a physical PC game?
Cross play wasn't a thing until a year or two ago. We'll see if Sony changes its tune with the PS5. I doubt anything will change with the PS4.
Why would you make them suffer through the modern Mortal Kombats? Mortal Kombat Trilogy for life!
I started my 3 year old on Super Mario World on the SNES classic.
We all know most of n4g only cares about single player games anyway. So what would cross play matter to a single player gamer? Nothing.
Those of us that play online can benefit from cross play. Especially with online indie games that tend to sell less.
I agree with no room for 4 consoles. My entertainment center can only hold 3. 😁
"Can't be done" and "won't be done" are two very different statements. I don't believe they ever said they "can't" port XX.
Temtem is a "Pokemon" MMO in all but name. I may end up preferring this over Pokemon. Pokemon has grown very stale to me over the years.
I believe they want them to build a time machine, so they can go in the past and fix their mistakes.
@badz, I don't wish anything. I'm only stating facts.
Nearly half. Which means that Switch + Xbox one sales (combined) are greater than that of Playstation 4. If software sales follow a similar pattern, then PS4 will have the smallest community for new games where there exists cross play between Switch and Xbox one.
But Sony is not "outselling" the Switch, Wii U, and Xbox one combined. It is "outselling" the Switch, Wii U, and Xbox one, individually.
Would you have preferred they didn't invest in first party studios? Or maybe you would've preferred they jumped in their time machine and then invested in first party studios? Xbox won't have any system sellers this gen. That much is certain and there is nothing that can be done to change that. But there is always next gen, and with the inclusion of backwards compatibility, they have a good enough library to get people to jump in early.
I'm okay with it being the last smash as long as every future console is backwards compatible.
So few games, you must be real thirsty. /s
I'll be honest with you. It would be so nice to get all your purchases and use them across all consoles, but let's not act like this has EVER been done before. If you bought CoD and it's DLC on Xbox, if you wanted to use that DLC on PlayStation, you'd have to buy the game and the DLC all over again on PlayStation.
Seems more like Sony is the only one that doesn't believe in multiplayer games. Which is fine, since single player is definitely their bread and butter. Nintendo does both, and Microsoft only does multiplayer.
