@Ripptide,
If Nintendo took risks with their games we would see
A new ink based shooting game
A new open world rpg about Xenoblades or something.
A new Mario game where Mario had a gun
A new Zelda game that is open world and unlike every other Zelda game before it
Cardboard that you can play with
And if they wanted to be really risky. All of that can happen within a 16 month time frame.
This just goes to show how much words matter. Even though Phil never said that single player games were dying or not popular. The fact that people think that's what he said is a problem.
The actual facts are that the games that pull in the most revenue every year are multiplayer games. Single-player games pull in their share but not as much as multiplayer games. This was probably not the case 10+ years ago.
However a console's success comes from t...
Lol. Denial of what?
Nice phrasing. But when Sony or Nintendo does it, it's called "investing in development studios"
@Septic, yes Microsoft took one risk in the past 2 - 3 years. How many has Sony took? How many has Nintendo took?
The slate gets wiped clean every gen. They have a chance at something next gen but not this one but only if they make the right investments now.
Success happens when you focus on bringing a variety of games. That includes both single player games and multiplayer games as Sony (and Nintendo) are doing.
This is the Mario Rpg that needed a sequel. Shame we'll probably never get one.
I preferred Kirby's dream course over Mario golf. I would like to see them bring that back in some way.
Great, so I'm sure we'll see Final Fantasy 7 any day now.
He's going to get destroyed in game 1.
One of the reasons I bought a PS4. I'll be ready for it whenever it releases.
Yes, let's be happy for Xbox's demise so we can go back to paying $600 for a Sony system at launch.
I hated playing as Amy in Sonic Advance.
Only way PS5 can do that is if it has the games to back it up. If it just has the same games as the PS4 for the first 2 years (like how the PS4 and PS3 had the same games for the first 2 years of the PS4), then it won't be breaking any 1st year records.
The reason for the Nintendo Switch's success is because it's a hybrid system. So it play console games while being used as a portable. If it didn't have that capability, it would not be selling nearly as much...
I think the feature is pointless, but I'm getting it on my Switch regardless.
@Knushwood, you must have missed this part of my response.
"The adapter is inexpensive, easy to find, and easy to install."
Ethernet ports are not expensive. The dock is pretty hollow as is, so not including one was just cheap and/or lazy on Nintendo's part.
And at the same time, the people making this out to be the big flaw that renders the Switch useless and unpurchaseable are making a mountain out of a mole hill. The adapter is inexpensive, easy to find, and easy to install.
There are far worse problems with the Switch than the lack of an ethernet port:
- The a...
I know. Who could possibly want to play Wolfenstein on the go?
