1. Shortest tutorial? For Zelda I would say yes but there are plenty of other games that have very short if any tutorials.

2. No handholding? You probably have not played the Souls series or Bloodborne or even ZioH.

3 Realistic physics?
a - Chop down a tree and all the branches fall off - oh yes that is so realistic.
b -Hit the tree with your axe and it magically converts to kindling - is that realistic?
c - Slice grass? Farmers...

Overwatch is online team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game and Zelda BotW is a single player Action/Adventure with RPG elements with no online capabilities except that you can talk about it with your friends.

Sigh! another "click bait" article.

Currently, HZD is 2.6 million while Zelda BotW is 1.3 million (WiiU and Switch).

The Souls series, Bloodborne, and ZioH would like to have a word with you and they at least have a real multiplayer component.

There are many games that are open world or at least sandbox's that thrust you into that world with little if any explanation as to what is going on and you have to figure out what you need to do or look up a walkthrough which as far as I am concerned is like looking at the ending of a good book without attempting to read it.

Examples: Oblivion and Skyrim (people have spent hundreds of hours in these games).

As for the reviews (yes I am well aware tha...

Actually, 128GB is kind of small if you are looking at putting allot of digitally downloaded games on it although if you are only going to buy Switch games on cartridge then you won't need an SD card.

Many AAA games can be in the order of 20GB to over 50GB (The Witcher 3 plus the two DLC is about 70GB on the PS4) although Indi games can be from a few hundred megabytes to over 20GB. In the article, they do mention Dragon Quest Heros which is about 32GB so if you are down...

@davand114

You are quite right.

I actually installed an SSD into my original FAT PS3 because it was relatively cheap and a 500GB HDD would have been a waste. I did notice some performance gain but it was marginal and very much game dependent.

I do have a 1TB 720rpm HDD in my PS4 and again there is some performance game but it is dependent on the game I am playing. Takes approx 35 seconds to fast travel and approx 50 seconds recover from...

Somehow I can't see The Witcher 3 being installed on the internal storage of the Switch, that is assuming TW3 was ported since the base game plus patches is about 50GB, with the two DLC's adding an additional 20GB.

It would be great if SSD's of similar capacity were about the same price as a HDD but you still would be limited to the speed of the internal bus which in the case of the PS4 and XB1 is SATA 2 (300MB/sec) and SATA 3 (600MB/sec) for the PS4pro and the ...

All games are installed on the internal storage of the PS4 or XB1 with even the most stock standard internal disk having a performance of 100MB/sec reads to 80MB/sec writes which is not that much of a difference than the performance of a good Class 10 SD card.

Also, the minimum size of the PS4 and XB1 storage is 500GB and the PS4 has an easy customer swap capability for a larger capacity internal storage device (can be an SSD if you wish) or if you wish a USB3 external sto...

Not necessarily. A stock standard HDD can have a read speed of 100MB/sec with a write speed of 80MB/sec that is dependent on the brand and the tests being carried out. SD cards are a mixed bag with speed ranging from less than 25MB/sec (cheap) to over 250MB/sec (expensive) with the mean being in the region of 80 to 100MB/sec reads for class 10 SD cards.

As far as cost per GB HDD's are around three to five times cheaper than an equivalent sized solid state storage device...

You are quite correct about the read speed of a 6x Bluray being 27MB/sec but you don't play games from the Bluray drive like you could with the PS3. All games on the PS4 and XB1 are installed on the internal storage device which by default is a 5400rpm hard disk drive (HDD) that on average has a read speed of approximately 100MB/sec and a write speed of approximately 80MB/sec depending on the brand and performance tests.

If in the case of the PS4 you installed a solid s...

A stock standard SSD has on average a 480MB/s write to a 500MB/sec read and if you care to look you can get SSD's (yes they are expensive) that have performance in the 2000MB/sec region. If you wish to compare capacity SSD's are cheaper in cost per GB compared to SD or cartridges but in the cost per GB Hard Disk Drives (HDD) are still the best.

A stock standard 2.5" 5400rpm HDD can have a read speed of around 100MB/sec with writes normally 25% slower, although ...

I do agree that PSNow is not the best way for gaming but this service is not just aimed at consoles or PC's it is also aimed at smart devices which include TV's. Of course, any streaming service performance is dependent on your network and data caps if you have them.

Game rental, like what Microsoft has proposed means that the whole game is downloaded to a storage device (ie. SSD or HDD) but you can't this with a smart TV and only to a limited extent with a smar...

You are quite right game streaming is not like video streaming and even then you have to have buffering where a portion of the movie is actually saved in memory or storage medium of the device (PC, console, smartphone...) which in turn offsets the variation in network perpormance.

Game streaming can be similar to movie streaming but predominately you are dependent on the overall performance of the network. Yes, some players won't have any issue with game streaming but t...

Like any portable device with a screen (eg. mobile or tablet), you should always consider putting on a screen protector and if you are not confident pay or get someone to do it for you.

Actually, a very cheap solution is to put a microfibre cloth in the dock so that the screen of the switch will slide against the cloth, not the plastic.

In The Witcher 3 as well as the Souls series and even Skyrim just to name a few have weapon degradation but it is possible to get through multiple battles before it becomes advisable to repair or upgrade your weapons and armor and you can do this in the field. In Zelda, BotW having to pause/select a new weapon then do the same thing after a few seconds is just "busy work" that in no way reflects what a real weapon be it stick or sword would do.

Yes, I know Zelda B...

So Link is so powerful that any weapon he wields will break easily.

Hmm! The why does he not hit the enemies with his fist or are you worried he may break?

Sorry weapon degradation and breakage on that scale coupled with you the player having to pause the game and select another weapon which will also break after a few hits which again requires you to pause the game and ... well, you can see where this is going.

There are plenty of game...
