In concept, the Switch is a good and a bad idea.
As a console, it is relatively underpowered compared to the current consoles although that is fine considering the games that are already out and are coming out for it. Unfortunately, the console in its portable mode is also larger than a dedicated handheld gaming device.
Lets put it this way if you are a parent would you be quite happy to let your child take the Switch out of the house? What about more tha...
I would not say that always online and digital are bad. In fact, they are basically two sets of discussion.
Always online: If that game is free to play then I don't have any issue although I do get annoyed if the game devolves into Pay to Win then I just loose interest. Even if that game is not free then I would really like to know why I should pay for it given that it will be unplayable when the servers get shutdown although I will admit that some FPS's and MMO'...
At least with "Drawn to Death" that is a current PS4 free game if you have a PS+ subscription although you do need a PS+ subscription to play it. Whilst I am not interested in online shooters it would be interesting to see how long the game lasts when you have to pay for it.
The game "Hardware Rivals" is a combination of single player, couch co-op and multiplayer so even if interest in the online component wanes you can still play it.
If you buy an online only game that game will only be playable as long as the servers that host it are available. Having a campaign (single or couch co-op) is a great way of keeping that game alive although obviously, that depends on the interest of the buyer.
Like it, on not all, online only games will have their servers shutdown (usually when interest wanes) eventually. How long? Well, that is a good question and one that is difficult to answer since there are online only...
Err no! Basically, all applications are scheduled and run at a particular priority which depending on the priority some applications will run at the expense of others. However, all applications that are running under the operating system will continue to run depending on their requirements and priority. This has nothing to do with the resources that are demanded by an application. In the case of the so-called Microsoft Gaming Mode, all this basically does is to change the priority of the proc...
Emulators are not illegal but downloading the ROM's for those emulators are, unless the ROM itself has no copyright restrictions.
If you are going to put a green parrot on your shoulder and optionally drink rum while singing sea shanties make sure your operating system is not the type to phone home.
The emulator is legal however the ROMS are not unless the XB1 can read PS1 CDs which from what I can gather it can.
Somehow I think the people who install the PS1 emulator will be downloading the PS1 ROMs as well which as I said is illegal and because the XB1 runs the Windows 10 operating system Microsoft will know and as they have stated in their EULA they can provide this information to third parties on request. Somehow I doubt Sony will just let this slide.

Games always fit into what is called genres and even within those genres, there are always sub-genres which will appeal to some and not to others even if the buyer does like the particular genres.
Basically what to you may be a quality game may not be to others and vice versa.
Personally, I like Action/Adventure and RPG's but even within those genres, I can be picky since most of those games usually command a high price when new although one advantage...
There is replayability in Journey especially if you wish to get all the achievements, but for me, I have only played it through once (I got it as a free PS+ game) although I may try and get more achievements at a later date. I still liked the game and would definitely recommend it.
Speedrunners are an unusual breed.
Some speed runners will look at walkthroughs, cheats, and exploits prior to starting a speed run but all speed runners will usually play through the game at least once (most many times) taking notes as they progress.
An interesting example is the following Dark Souls speed run of 25 minutes and 17 seconds.
While what you said is true, if you are savvy with picking a game to play there really should not be any reason to return a game.
Usually, this means reading trusted reviews (notice the "s") and never pre-order unless you are absolutely sure that what you are pre-ordering will be too your liking which usually means a good crystal ball with lots of occult symbols (sarcasm intended).
It also helps especially if you have a PS+ or if you are an XBo...
Zelda Breath of the Wild is available not only on the Switch but on the WiiU so over 100% attach rate is possible.
It may come as a shock to you but the Zelda series is not as popular as Mario and Pokemon. Of course, it does help that Zelda Breath of the Wild is the only serious Nintendo game that is currently on the Switch although that will change over the next few months.
Which is really amazing since emulators that are legal that will play NES and SNES ROMs have been available since the 1990's.
Well, there are always emulators which are free and quite legal. ROM's, on the other hand, require a green parrot on your shoulder although the rum and shanty singing https://www.youtube.com/wat... are optional.
Still, have "Champions of Norath" and there are no people online to play coop (I think the servers are down now) but the game can easily be played in single player mode.
Actually, you may want to look at Neverwinter since it is free (about 15GB). There are plenty of microtransactions but they are not really necessary for the games progression and they are not "in your face". The microtransactions in Neverwinter are not "pay to win" and are pred...
The problem you will find with multiplayer games is the fact there are far too many and if you bring back the "old classics" you will find that there will be fewer people who will play them regularly and this effectively spells doom (pun intended) for the game.
I won't deny that there are some games (ie. Team Fortress - 2007) that even though old are still very popular but most multiplayer FPS games enjoy a surge in players when introduced which slowly dies of...
Some PS1 and PS2 classics (read that they sold well) are either available in digital form (usually less than 4GB) or will be made available in digital format sometime in the future. It would be nice if I was able to put in my PS2 (DVD only) disk and get a free download (would always require the original disk for authentication) or a discount on the download (playable without putting the DVD in for authentication).
Actually many remastered "classics" can be purchas...
8K displays are out now although you will be paying for the bragging rights. http://www.144hzmonitors.co... Give it two or three years and 8K will be on price parity with 4K but it's not that simple since there are many more factors to consider when purchasing a high-resolution display.
It would make allot of sense when designing the next generation console or even a PC f...
Actually, if you care to look the PS3 (release date 11th November 2006) was the first console to market a motion (ie. six-axis) device compared the Wii (release date 19th November 2006).
I won't deny that the Wii was very popular with casual gamers and sold over 100 million compared to the PS3 which sold about 87 million and is only just now ceasing production. The Wii officially ceased production about October 2013 and the Wii U officially ceased production in Novembe...
