What price is the Oculus compared to the PSVR?

Microsoft would have to bring out their own VR headset that would at least complete with PSVR in terms of price although if they did bring out a headset that supported 4K with HDR for a little extra then they may have something.

Jim Sterling has played the E3 demo and he did like it. https://www.youtube.com/wat...

I suggest playing Gravity Rush remastered first mainly for the back story and some of the challenges can be quite daunting. It's not overly difficult to get gold in most of the challenges but getting close to number one in world ranking is. You should be able to get this game very cheaply if you have a PS+ account.

@Nu

Backward compatibility is a great value added feature and is a system seller at the start of the console generation but it becomes less important if it is introduced a few years down the time track. For backward compatibility to work the player must have the original game or pay for a new or second-hand version.

BTW. Unless you are careful used DVD games are very much more prone to scratching than Bluray disks.

It may come as a surprise to some but the PS3 also had and still has motion controls (six axis) from release on the 11th November 2006 which was interesting since the Wii released on 19th November 2006 so effectively the PS3 was the first console to market with motion controls.

Even the PS4 has motion controls which are surprisingly accurate although there are not that many games on both the PS3 and PS4 that actually make use of them. Still, the option is there if developer...

Over the course of a year I have three free games that I really do like but most I am not that fussed. Still, I would never try these games if I did not get them for free.

What I really do like are the discounts you can get for being a PS+ member (up to 80% off RRP in some cases) and I have not spent more that $20 AUD ($15 USD) for many of the games I have (some AAA or AAA DLC). Yes, there is the online aspect but only Dark Souls II and Bloodborne use this with most of the ...

Many Japanese RPG's that were on the XBox360 were also on the PS3 and/or Vita. Exclusive JRPG's on the XBox360 are "Blue Dragon", "Dead or Alive 4" (not really a JRPG), "Lost Odyssey" and "Naruto Rise of a Ninja". http://japdualaudio-in-vide...

BTW. The list is of games have the original Japanese voice acting as well as Engl...

I am only level 29 on "Death March" and am in the process of confronting the Witches and the Lord of the Wild hunt. After that, I think I will start "Hearts of Stone" (recommended level 32) which will be followed up by "Blood and Wine" (recommended level 34).

The Witcher 3 is IMHO one of the best story-driven fantasy RPG's that is neither Western or Japanese. In fact, it is Eastern (ie. Polish) and CD Projekt Red have captured the spirit of...

The PSP and the Vita were not failures since they did not cause Sony to lose money although they did not sell anywhere near as well as Nintendo's offerings. But then again Nintendo has always done well in the handheld market.

I actually have the PS2 version, however, I only have the PAL FAT PS3 which is a mixture of PS2 hardware and software emulation and therefore will only play properly about 90% of all PS2 games. Unfortunately, my PS2 version of Star Ocean will play for over 20 hours flawlessly and then hit two freezes with the first one bypassable by just not doing the optional quest but the second freeze which like the first one is fully repeatable effectively stops me playing the game.

The industry standard of the 16:9 aspect is a compromise between all the other competing screen ratios. I think you have to ask yourself if you prefer letterboxing bars at the top and bottom rather than left and right if the display has a different aspect ratio to your screens aspect ratio.

As for modern movies, their aspect ratio's can be 1.85:1 and 2.39:1 but even then some are 16:9 (1.78:1) so again the question of letterboxing.

It is interesting t...

If you can't tell the difference between 1080p and 2160p (4K) with appropriate content then I suggest getting your eyes checked.

To be fair you also have to consider the size of the display, the quality of the brand and how far away from the display you are comfortable with. Obviously, if you do have poor eyes then there is little you can do except for contacts, glasses and possibly surgery, but as we get older our eyesight does deteriorate although by how much depends ...

If you don't mind waiting two to five years you will most likely be able to pick up an 8K display quite cheaply.

32" 8K monitors are out now http://www.theverge.com/cir... and while they are relatively expensive ($5,000 USD) they will come down in price. Personally, I would rather have something like this for my gaming needs rather than shar...

If you offload a game from your PS4 to an external drive and take that drive to a friend who also has a PS4 you can play that game on your friends PS4 providing you log in to PSN to authenticate the ownership of the game. Of course, whether you would trust your friend with your PSN login and password is up to you.

As for trading a physical game, you don't really get that much for it although that does depend on the place where you trade it. With digital games well you ...

I would say that Zelda Breath of the Wild is a great game if like those types of games but "near perfect" you really have to be a total fanboy to say that and this is from someone who has played and enjoyed nearly every Zelda game from 1 though to Windwaker.

You are right it appears that some people are adopting the entitled attitude of "me only" and damn everyone else.

Personally, I would rather get the discounts that go with a PS+ subscription and I can get some selected AAA games (Uncharted 4, Ratchet & Clank, DarkSouls 2, Decent DLC for games like The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne just to name a few) that are up to 80% of the RRP.

That is a difficult thing to do with a machine that is one part console and the other a hand-held. If you look portable gaming it does make sense to go with a cartridge or at least card (ie. micros SD card) storage expansion. Of course, if you had internal memory (ie. Solid State) of a decent size (this adds to the overall cost of the device) digital downloads would be much more acceptable but you are always going to reach a limit no matter how big you make the internal storage. Anyone who ha...

Could try something like the Kings Field series. Those games were FPS although it would not be that difficult to allow both first and third-person perspective gaming like what was done with Oblivion and Skyrim since you could switch at any time. It is even possible to allow CoOp and PvP. All the Kings field games like the Souls series and Bloodborne had a story however it was up to the player to find one.
