It's very cartoony and IMHO would suit a single player game but I do think photorealistic for multiplayer (that is what it is) would have been more appropriate.

The XB1s is actually smaller than the XB1x although not by that much. https://www.kotaku.com.au/2...

The XB1x will have a 1TB HDD and I would assume it to be 5400rpm 2.5" which basically means that reads will be approximately 100MB/sec and writes of approximately 80MB/sec. The internal bus like the PS4pro will be SATA3 which has a 600MB/sec performance compared to the PS4 and the XB1 SATA2 bus of 300MB/sec.

I would assume (not confirmed) that the HDD is not user changeable unless you wish to void your warranty although you can use external storage using USB 3.0 (640MB...

It looks like the power supply (245W) will be internal https://www.kotaku.com.au/2... having an external power supply would be poor design. The XB1x is actually smaller than the PS4pro although not by that much although the PS4pro is not as heavy.

It will be interesting to see if the XB1x has overheating issues down the track although by no...

I won't fault you for your build especially since I have no idea what you are predominately going to use your desktop for.

My build was over 18 months ago and I decided to go with a basic Skylake i7 6700 (note I am not into overclocking) and 16GB of DDR4. Even now the only time I stress my system is when I am doing video editing which will have my CPU's hit about 80% and core temperatures hit about 65°C. My memory utilization rarely hi...

Oh wow, a UHD player.

May I ask what a UHD player has to do with games? Last time I looked games media for the PS4 and XB1 come on 25GB and 50GB Bluray disk, not UHD disk.

Bring out games for the XB1s and Scorpio on UHD and that would be a slap in the face for all Xbox fans who purchased the original XBox 1 and that would be well over 20 million players

Oh, wait Microsoft has gone back to its original ideas of making the XB1 a media ce...

The reason why tThe Witcher 3 gets praised is that the two expansions "Hearts of Stone" and "Blood and Wine" are standalone games in their own right and are quite long (approx 10 and 30 hours respectively) and depending on how you look at it are very good value for your money.

From the main game, you can enter the expansions although the developers do have a recommended level which is mentioned at the very start of the Witcher game. You also have the opt...

You are right "real" gamers have spoken but unfortunately, there are casuals who are either idiots, have more money than sense or just like to win without putting in any effort and those are the people that the publishers are targeting.

Unfortunately, you will always get people that will pay more for a product than what it really is worth and that impacts all sane people who like to get value for their purchases.

Anyone who has visited gaming forums or looked at YouTube commentaries will notice that most commentators are very much against microtransactions, pay to play/win and unnecessary DLC such as pay to see special endings etc. Of course, that is not going to stop some players (I refuse to call these p...

It depends on which country you are talking about and its standard of living.

For instance, $79.99 CAD (Canadian Dollar) is equal to $59.40 USD and where I live Australia $78.89 AUD and most high end (this is subjective) games would cost around the respective prices.

Charging $99.99 CAD for a standard game (ie. no extra fluff) is IMHO a ripoff even if you compare the same game on Bluray (possibly $0.20 per disk in OEM quantities) to a cartridge (possibly ...

All PS3's can play PS1 games but only the FAT PS3's can play PS2 games and depending which version of PS3 you have NTSC (USA etc) has full PS2 hardware while PAL (UK, Europe, Australia etc) only had a partial PS2 with the rest being emulated in software (only 85% ~ 90% of PS2 games work).

3272d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The problem with that is the PS4 will not read CD's which is what PS1 games come on, only DVDs and Blurays.

You are correct in saying that the PS4 can emulate PS1 and even PS2 games but is it really is not worth the effort remembering that Sony is a per profit company? Now PS3 game emulation on the PS4 that is a different story and one that is as far as Sony is concerned not worth it since they do make money selling remastered games.

Also, it is not ...

The trouble of playing NES or even SNES games on modern TV really highlights how low resolution the graphics are considering most TV's in the 1980's to the mid-1990's were at best 15" to 26" (OK some heavy and expensive ones could be larger). If you are into so-called retro graphics (Note: I said graphics, not gaming) then you may find that the output of the SNES and NES are very pixelated compared to games that were on the PS1 (still pretty pixelated) to the semi-washed...

@TheCommentator

The PS3 was launched in the NTSC regions (ie. USA, Japan .. etc) with all the PS2 hardware built in that is why you have almost 100% backward compatibility. On the other hand, the launch PS3 in the PAL regions (ie. UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand .. etc) only had partial PS2 hardware with the rest being done with software emulation which at best could only give 85% to 90% backward compatibility. Guess which PS3 I have and it still works?

I understand where you are coming from but what you said is not necessarily true.

When watching anime I normally prefer the Japanese voice acting with decent subtitles (usually done by fansubbers) although I can usually tell when the subbing is not up to par. The same would hold true for games (eg. Nights of Azure) although I do have to say that I am more used to English voice acting than Japanese voice acting in games.

I have found that in Anime some Eng...

Even if you only had a 2GB memory card you could put all the SNES games ever made onto it and still have room to for all the NES games ever made.

The largest SNES games ever made weigh in at about 6MB and they would be RPG's. The game Zelda A Link to the Past was about 1MB in size while Final Fantasy 6 was 3MB and Secret of Mana was 2MB.

BTW. I do have the original cartridges but playing them via my still working SNES on a modern large screen TV is a ...

It may come as a shock to you but both Microsoft and Sony stated before the PS4 and XB1 released that they would no have a backward compatibility feature. It took two years after the XB1's release for Microsoft to actually come out with backward compatibility and as the statistics show that did not lead to more sales of the XB1 since the PS4 is still dominating by approximately two to one.

Backward compatibility is a great value added feature but it only sells consoles ...

The point here is about how many players who have an XB1 actually use the backward compatibility feature.

It would be incredibly easy for Microsoft to produce very reliable data since the XB1 does collect data on each player's preference and the length of time gaming. The XB1 uses Windows 10 as it's operating system and for those who don't know that by default Windows 10 collects allot of data about you.

Don't believe me. If you have a PC ...
