I have always played Child of Light on hard although, to be honest, it really is not that hard especially if you target the enemies elemental weakness which means switching appropriate characters. There are microtransactions if you are the impatient type and have more money than sense but the gem making to improve your stats is surprisingly fair and IMHO adds to the challenge and enjoyment of the game.
Hint: The central character is a little girl. It pays if you let her be ...
Why? A powerful console is great but it is only great if the majority of game coming to it are actually going to make use of that power. With the exception of AAA titles, most games will be made for the consoles that have the largest user bases which really are the PS4 and the XB1 although I should put the Switch in there somewhere.
At the moment for every five PS4's sold one is a PS4pro. Since the XB1x won't be available until November of this year and Microsoft is...
Why stop at 4K if you have the money you can get 8K now. http://www.144hzmonitors.co...
In the case of fast moving games such as FPS, Sports and Fighting a faster framerate is always preferable to higher resolution.
Yes, it is nice to be able to see that detailed wall design but it really sucks to be owned by someone using a 24" 1080p 144Hz monitor with his game running at 60 fps and does not give a damn about that wall design. 🙂
I do have some of the games from previous flash sales and also PS+ free games so I I am not wanting. Still, I do agree that there would be some people out there that would find something to their liking since the games do cover a range of genres.
As far as I am concerned an old game that I have not played is still a brand new game for me and there are plenty of old games that I have not played yet. Yes it is nice playing the latest game but when you have a huge backlog I do...
If you are going to be digitally downloading the game why preorder unless you really do need the fluff incentives that may come with it. I mean it is not as if the game is going to run out of stock no matter how many people purchase the game.
I can never understand the pre-order culture mentality especially if the game will be digitally downloaded.
BTW. I am not saying that the game will be bad (in fact I do think it will be awesome in VR) but why preorde...
Unfortunately "Oddworld: New and Tasty" is only available for the PS4. "Oddworld: Strangers Wrath" is actually available for the Vita so there is always a possibility it may be brought out for the PS4.
Watching anime on the PS4 browser should be fine if the anime is using the 8bit H264 codec but if the codec is HEVC or H265 (proprietary) and possibly 10bit or 12bit you may have an issue. You should be able to watch Youtube videos though.
Note: The PS4 video player is also limited in what it can play since many codecs are proprietary and by supporting other formats Sony could be sued by the companies holding those patents.
I just tried this in Chrome on ...
Sorry, I call BS on that. While I don't have a PS4pro but I do have a PS4 with a 7200 rpm HDD which I installed myself and if you need to reseat your storage then you should have screwed it in correctly. As for removing and reconnecting the HDMI and power cable you have got to be joking, that's like saying you need to give your TV a bash when you have a problem getting a signal.
Well, it is a system software update, not a game update although all updates download in the background so you hardly know it is downloading and even when the update has downloaded you still have the option of when to install it.
Actually started the installation about 15 minutes ago and have just rebooted. So far no problems. The only inconvenience was when I had to reboot which took just over a minute. I mean that is hardly enough time to grab a cold one out of the fridge...
One word "politics".
For cross play, you have to applications (in this case games) that communicate with each other. The problem you have is who actually owns the servers and how tightly you want integration with applications on other servers. Sounds simple? Well in many ways it is but like I said originally "politics".
Without getting too technical you basically need one server per geographical location such that the latency (ie. time...
Maybe but 8K is just around the corner and by that I mean two to three years away. You can get an 8K display (32") now if you have $5000 USD of spare cash lying around. Of course, you do want a decent graphics card setup to drive it properly.
If you are serious about gaming you probably want a display with a high refresh rate such as 144Hz or higher. My HDTV has a refresh of 200 Hz and fast moving games are a joy to play on it.
I won't deny that the XB1x (stupid name IMHO) has interesting hardware but for the author to state that it is as good if not better than a multi-thousand dollar (assume USD) shows he is out of touch although if you are going to compare against top of the line laptops then yes you may be looking at $2000 USD plus. Of course, he may be referring to the Surface Pro laptops which cannot be repaired since they are basically glued together.
If you build or get built (costs ex...
As far as I am aware GDDR6 is not available yet although it is supposed to come out in 2018. Until then GDDR5 is the way to go. http://www.pcworld.com/arti...
I don't doubt that many Xbox games may look better (depends on the game) but as to playing better I very much doubt it since if you as an XB1 or XB1s player you would be at a decided disadvantage when playing a multiplayer game against people who have the XB1x. That is commonly called "Pay to Win" and would be like a slap in the face to all other XB1 players.
I do think the above scenario is something Microsoft would want to avoid at all costs.
Considering you can use the PSVR in cinema mode you can effectively play all PS4 games. In fact, if you have an XBox, Switch or even a PC you can still play their games using cinema mode.
Of course, if you wish to play a VR game then you either have to buy it or get some of the free demos that you can get on PSN.
Let's be honest here. It does not matter what gaming system you get if you have to worry about the price of games maybe you should not play...
Yes, I can see it now "Castlevania" pachinko machines. 🙄
Jim Fxxking Stirlingson is still right and we should thank God for him. 🙂
The writer does have some good points but let the fanboys rants begin.
Note the similarity of the XBox naming for each generation such as XBox, Xbox360, XBox360 elite, XBox1, Xbox1s and now XBox1x. Sure most people here would know the difference but most nongamers or even casual gamers are going to be confused.
Grabs popcorn. 🙂
I sort of agree and disagree with what you said.
I do think the best question to ask is "What makes a great game?" and I am quite sure you will get a variety of different and quite heated replies.
Talk to someone who likes FPS's or driving games and the most would prefer higher framerate over resolution while someone who likes graphically intense but slower paced games is not put off by slower frame rates. Actually, there are games hitting t...
No way, they are probably going to give us Dark Souls 3 which will annoy the casuals who will complain that it doesn't have an easy setting and they don't have the time to "git gud". 🙂
@instantstupor
If Sony made The Witcher 3 or Bloodborne free for PS+ members you would still have people complaining.
