@PlayableGamez

Have you played Bloodborne?

Yes, there are frame rate dips and the best example is the Lecture Building where you do get significant dips but you are not there long so it's not that big a deal.

I won't deny there are dips elsewhere but unless you are monitoring for dips you would hardly notice.

Of course it would be nice if Bloodborne played at a steady 60fps but I can't see that getting fix...

WOW 29 disagrees when you are 100% correct. http://wccftech.com/crytek-...

To those that disagree. The PS4pro has 8GB of GDDR5 and 1GB of DDR3 memory.

That is the current prices and for the PS4slim, Ps4pro, XB1slim (you missed the price but it's about the price of the PS4s) and the Switch. Come November of 2017 it is extremely likely that the prices will reduce by around $50 USD although I doubt that will be the case for the Switch since it is still difficult to get and scalpers are still having a field day on eBay.

I would be very surprised if the XB1s is not selling for $200 to $250 USD with pack-in games because it...

Well, the base Witcher 3 game is around 49GB while the game plus the two DLC's is about 70GB (PS4 example) so you would definitely want a 128GB cartridge for the Switch which is not exactly that cheap when you consider performance the price required for it.

Note: Some of The Witcher 3 updates have been huge ranging from 10GB to 17GB.

I will agree about the controller but a large screen to play properly?

Take a look at a game tournament and most of the screens are 24" to 25". To comfortably play a fast moving game you need to have the whole screen in your field of view so you are not moving your neck and eyes excessively.

A large screen is great but you still want to be comfortable when viewing the screen and that means sitting away from the scree...

Well, Sony does have PSNow and that does streaming which is fine if you have a reliable and fast Internet connection. The problem is the fact that like it or not you are going to be downloading a considerable amount of data for large games.

As an example, the Witcher 3 is about 49GB for the regular game and 70GB for the two DLC's so I very much doubt that Switch users would want to play that game via their mobiles. Of course, that won't be a problem if you are doing...

Maybe not so silly since the writer already has a few months to play with his console/handheld and the Switch is still in short supply so he can ask and possibly get a price over the recommended retail price. As an example: https://www.ebay.com/p/Nint... which has a price of $419.99 USD with free delivery when the RRP for the Switch is $300 USD. ...

I like enjoyment and a challenge. If the game is too easy I will find it boring to play. Beating everything to a pulp on the first playthrough usually means you are a fantastic player or the game is far too easy.

This is why I like the Souls/Borne games. Yes, they are difficult but they are fair and if players don't like the idea of learning by getting hammered when playing for the first time then maybe they should not play those games.

BTW. There are...

Yes, that "Gourmet perk" is a must have for your first perk since each recovery potion will allow you to auto recover for 20 minutes. Of course, it does not really help if you are getting beaten to a pulp by enemies that are four levels and more above your level.

Dragon's Dogma is an excellent game especially Dark Arisen but most of the quests (go there kill that and escort missions) were really boring. What Capcon needs to do is randomize the drops (there is some randomisation) including the enemies you meet every time you pass the same place (you do this allot) although with Dark Arisen there are more teleports and they are not as expensive.

I did like the day/night cycle and some of those huge monsters were really fun to figh...

The PC is a mixed bag.

Sure you have the high-end PC with a decent CPU, RAM, Graphics card and motherboard which basically make the current consoles look like four function (I jest) calculators but let's be honest here out of all the PC out there how many PCs actually fall into that category.

Most of the PC market today fall into the laptop and tablet category and on average most of these devices are not as powerful as the current PS4 and XB1

May I ask what has 4K Bluray support to do with gaming?

With the PS4 and XB1 you don't play games off the Bluray player. If you have a game on Bluray media it is always loaded onto your storage device. Sure it may be possible in the foreseeable future that some games will come on 4K disks (100GB and 128GB) but you won't be playing the game off them.

The PS3 is the only gaming console where you could actually play games from the Bluray player altho...

Consoles are built to a price that the prospective consumer will accept.

Start putting in a "good" read expensive cooling system and the price increases so eventually you get to a point where the average consumer who is not technical does not care and opts for a more acceptably priced console.

@OmnislashVer36

GDDR6 is supposed to be released in 2018 https://www.extremetech.com... and will be initially expensive compared to GDDR5 although if the PS5 was planned for release in 2019/20 it may have come down in price significantly although like you have said GDDR5 may be the safer and cheaper bet.

It would not be all that difficult to pl...

Sony did collaborate with Nintendo at one stage in the 1990's with Sony trying to push CD's instead of cartridges and eventually, that collaboration collapsed with Sony bringing out the PlayStation which had a CD drive while Nintendo stuck to cartridges. Of course, we all know how that panned out.

One thing Sony and also Microsoft did "sort of copy" from Nintendo was the button layout for their respective controllers and even today that has hardly changed....

37 million for the XB1? Where did you get those figures?

We do know that the PS4 has been outselling the XB1 by two to one (you can get this information from many sites and even Sony) so if the XB1 has sold 37 million the PS4 has sold 74 million give or take a million and we all know that is not the case.

Best estimates for XB1 sales put it at approximately 29 to 31 million since Microsoft is not saying.

3249d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

Well, you will have to wait five months assuming that you pre-order since I feel that the fist batch will get sold out pretty quickly especially if the scalpers get in on the act. Then again a $200 to $300 USD price differential between the XB1s and the XB1x may be a hard sell.

Sure the XB1x will sell but how many compared to the XB1s that is going to be the question and Microsoft normally won't say unless the console is a runaway success.

3249d ago 0 agree2 disagreeView comment

I won't deny that the designers of the XB1x have done a very good job but you also have to remember that Microsoft can't afford to get over 20 million original XB1 owners offside since all games made for the XB1 have to work on all iterations of that console.

You are also looking at a significant price and performance differential between the XB1 and the XB1x (approx $200 to $300 USD and 1.3Tflops to 6Tflops differentials) compared to the $80 to $100 USD and 1.84Tfl...
